Driver assistance system7-30
Lane Keeping Assist is designed to help
detect lane markings (or road edges)
while driving over a certain speed. Lane
Keeping Assist will warn the driver if the
vehicle leaves the lane without using the
turn signal, or will automatically assist

vehicle from departing the lane.
Detecting sensor
OTMPH071001N[1] : Front view camera
The front view camera is used as a
detecting sensor to detect lane markings
(or road edges).
Refer to the picture above for the
detailed location of the detecting sensor.
CAUTION
For more details on the precautions
of the front view camera, refer to
“Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
(FCA)” section in this chapter.

When you are driving forward out of a
parking space, if Blind-Spot Collision-
Avoidance Assist detects that there is a
collision risk with an approaching vehicle
in the blind spot, function will help avoid
a collision by applying the brake.

Refer to the picture above for the
detailed location of the detecting
sensors.
CAUTION
Take the following precautions to
maintain optimal performance of the
detecting sensor:
[ Never disassemble the rear corner
radar or radar assembly, or apply any
impact on it.
[ If there is impact on the rear corner
radar or near the radar, even
though the warning message does
not appear on the cluster, Blind-
Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
may not operate properly. Blind-
Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is
inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.

Assist disabled
OTM070098N
When the rear bumper around the rear
corner radar or sensor is covered with
foreign material, such as snow or rain,
or installing a trailer or carrier, it can
reduce the detecting performance and
temporarily limit or disable Blind-Spot
Collision-Avoidance Assist.
If this occurs, the ‘Blind-Spot Safety
V \ V W H P G L V D E O H G 5 D G D U E O R F N H GT Z D U Q L Q J
message will appear on the cluster.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
will operate properly when such foreign
material or trailer, etc., is removed, and
then the engine is restarted.
If Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
does not operate properly after it is
removed, have the vehicle inspected by
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
[ Even though the warning message
does not appear on the cluster, Blind-
Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may
not properly operate.
[ Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance
Assist may not properly operate in
an area (for example, open terrain)
where any objects are not detected
right after the engine is turned on, or
when the detecting sensor is blocked
with foreign material right after the
engine is turned on.

After the vehicle stops, when an
approaching vehicle from the rear area is
detected as soon as a passenger opens a
door, Safe Exit Assist will warn the driver
with a warning message and an audible
warning to help prevent a collision.
OTM070039
In addition, when the electronic child
safety lock button is in the LOCK position
and an approaching vehicle from the
rear area is detected, the electronic child
safety lock button will not unlock even if
the driver presses the button to prevent
the rear doors from opening.
CAUTION
Warning timing may vary depending on
the speed of the approaching vehicle.
Detecting sensor
OTMPH071007N[1] : Rear corner radar
The rear corner radars are sensors
located inside the rear bumper to detect
the side and rear areas. Always keep the
rear bumper clean for proper operation
of Safe Exit Assist.
NOTICE
For more details on the precautions of
the rear corner radars, refer to “Blind-
Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)”
section in this chapter.
