AUTOUNLOCK
WHAT IS AUTOUNLOCK
Autounlock is a feature that centrallyunlocks the vehicle doors when yourvehicle comes to a stop and you open thedriver door.
AUTOUNLOCK REQUIREMENTS
Autounlock unlocks all the doors after:
1.The vehicle speed exceeds 12 mph(20 km/h).
2.Your vehicle comes to a stop.
3.You open the driver door.
Note:Autounlock operates for only 10minutes after the ignition is switched off.
SWITCHING AUTOUNLOCK ONAND OFF
1.Using the instrument cluster displaycontrols on the steering wheel, selectSettings.
2.Select Vehicle Settings.
3.Switch Autounlock on or off.
AUTOLOCK

Autolock is a locking feature that centrallylocks your vehicle doors when driving.
AUTOLOCK REQUIREMENTS

1.All doors are closed and the ignition ison.

Autolock repeats if:
1.Your vehicle is stopped.
2.Any door is opened and closed again.
3.Your vehicle speed exceeds 12 mph(20 km/h).
MISLOCK
WHAT IS MISLOCK
Mislock is a locking feature that warns youif your vehicle has not locked.
MISLOCK LIMITATIONS
When you press the lock button once, theturn signals do not flash if:
•Any door or the tailgate is open.
•The hood is open.
If you switch mislock off, the horn does notsound if you press the lock button on theremote control when a door is open.
SWITCHING MISLOCK ON ANDOFF

PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT
SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM
The passive anti-theft system preventssomeone from starting your vehicle withan incorrectly coded key.
Note:Do not leave a duplicate coded keyin your vehicle. Always take the keys andlock all the doors when leaving your vehicle.
HOW DOES THE PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM WORK
The passive anti-theft system arms whenyou switch the ignition off.
It disarms when you switch the ignition onwith a correctly coded key.
Note:The system is not compatible withnon-Ford aftermarket remote start systems.
Note:Do not leave a duplicate coded keyin your vehicle. Always take the keys andlock all doors when leaving your vehicle.
ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM
WHAT IS THE ANTI-THEFT ALARMSYSTEM
The anti-theft alarm system warns you ofan unauthorized entry to your vehicle.
HOW DOES THE ANTI-THEFTALARM SYSTEM WORK
When armed, the anti-theft alarm istriggered in any of the following ways:
•If someone opens a door, the tailgateor the hood without a correctly codedkey or remote control.
•If you turn the power on without acorrectly coded key.
•If the interior sensors detect movementinside your vehicle.
•If the inclination sensors detect anattempt to raise your vehicle.
•If someone disconnects the vehiclebattery or the battery backup alarm.
•If someone disconnects the trailer. SeeConnecting a Trailer (page 359).
Any further attempts to carry out one ofthe above, sounds the alarm again.
If the anti-theft alarm is triggered, thealarm horn sounds for 30 seconds and theturn signals flash for five minutes.
WHAT IS THE PERIMETER ALARM
The perimeter alarm is designed to detectunauthorized access to your vehicle.
WHAT ARE THE INTERIORSENSORS (If Equipped)
The interior sensors are designed to detectany movement inside your vehicle.
The interior sensors are in the overheadconsole.
Note:Do not cover the interior sensors.

The system allows you to remotely startyour vehicle and to adjust the interiortemperature according to the settings thatyou chose.
REMOTE START
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not start the enginein a closed garage or in other enclosedareas. Exhaust fumes are toxic. Alwaysopen the garage door before you startthe engine. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
REMOTE START LIMITATIONS
Remote start does not work under thefollowing conditions:
•The alarm horn is sounding.
•The hood is open.
•The transmission is not in park (P).
•The ignition is on.
•The battery voltage is below theminimum operating voltage.
•Remote start is not enabled.
Note:Do not use remote start if the fuellevel is low.
ENABLING REMOTE START
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle.
3.Press Remote Start Setup.
4.Switch Remote Start on or off.
Note:To remote start with FordPass, makesure that the modem is enabled. SeeConnecting FordPass to the Modem(page 548).

Remotely Starting the Vehicle
Press the button on the remotecontrol.
Within three seconds, press thebutton on the remote control.
Within three seconds, press thebutton again.

Note:The turn signal lamps flash twice.
Note:The parking lamps turn on when thevehicle is running.

RESTARTING THE ENGINE AFTERSTOPPING IT - VEHICLES WITH:PUSH BUTTON START
The system allows you to start the enginewithin 10 seconds of switching it off, evenif it does not detect a valid passive key.
Within 10 seconds of switching the engineoff, fully press the brake pedal and pressthe push button ignition switch. After 10seconds, you can no longer start the engineif the system does not detect a validpassive key.
When you start the engine, it remainsrunning until you press the push buttonignition switch, even if your vehicle doesnot detect a valid passive key. If you openand close a door when the engine isrunning, the system searches for a validpassive key.
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER (IF
EQUIPPED)
ENGINE BLOCK HEATERPRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Failure to follow engineblock heater instructions could result inproperty damage or serious personalinjury.
WARNING: Do not use your heaterwith ungrounded electrical systems ortwo-pronged adapters. There is a risk ofelectrical shock.
WARNING: Do not fully close thehood, or allow it to drop under its ownweight when using the engine blockheater. This could damage the powercable and may cause an electrical shortresulting in fire, injury and propertydamage.
We recommend that you do the followingfor a safe and correct operation:
•Use a 16-gauge outdoor extension cordthat is product certified byUnderwriter’s Laboratory (UL) orCanadian Standards Association(CSA). This extension cord must besuitable for use outdoors, in coldtemperatures, and be clearly markedSuitable for Use with OutdoorAppliances. Do not use an indoorextension cord outdoors. This couldresult in an electric shock or become afire hazard.
•Use as short an extension cord aspossible.
•Do not use multiple extension cords.
•Make sure that when in operation, theextension cord plug and engine blockheater cord plug connections are freeand clear of water. This could cause anelectric shock or fire.
•If the engine block heater cord is underthe hood, do not remove the wiringfrom its original location. Do not closethe hood on the extension wiring.
•Park your vehicle in a clean area, clearof combustible materials.
•Firmly connect the engine block heatercord and the extension cord.
•Check the extension cord for heatanywhere when the system has beenoperating for approximately 30minutes.
•Unplug and properly stow the systembefore starting and driving your vehicle.The protective cover seals theterminals of the engine block heatercord plug when not in use.
•Check the engine block heater systemfor proper operation before winter.

Note:When you activate Pro Eco Idle, theIdle Timer will be deactivated. If you do notconfirm the activation of Pro Eco Idle within30 seconds, the Idle Timer will bere-enabled.
When the idle timer is active and yourvehicle is idling, you retain full control ofthe vehicle's accessories and equipment.
After the idle time expires, the system turnsyour vehicle off. Your vehicle does notrestart until you switch it on.
IDLE TIMER PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Apply the parkingbrake, shift into park (P), switch theignition off and remove the key beforeyou open the hood or have any serviceor repair work completed. If you do notswitch the ignition off, the engine couldrestart at any time. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
IDLE TIMER SETTINGS
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Press Idle Settings.
4.Adjust the duration you wish thevehicle to idle.
AUTOMATIC ENGINE STOP (IF
EQUIPPED)
WHAT IS AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP
Automatic engine stop is a feature thatswitches the engine off if it has been idlingfor an extended period to help you savefuel.
HOW DOES AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP WORK
Automatic engine stop turns the engineoff. The ignition also turns off in order tosave battery power. Before the engineshuts down, a message appears in theinformation display showing a timercounting down. If you do not intervenewithin 30 seconds, the engine shuts down.Another message appears in theinformation display to inform you that theengine has shut down in order to save fuel.Start your vehicle as you normally do.
SWITCHING AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP ON AND OFF
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Switch 30min Max Idle on or off.
Note: You cannot permanently switch offthe automatic shutdown. If you switch itoff, it turns on each time you switch theignition on.
OVERRIDING AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP
Note: You cannot permanently switch offthe automatic engine stop feature. Whenyou switch it off temporarily, it turns on atthe next ignition cycle.
You can stop the engine shutdown, or resetthe timer, at any point before the30-second countdown has expired bydoing any of the following:
•Pressing the brake pedal or acceleratorpedal.
•Pressing the OK or RESET buttonduring the countdown.
