WHAT IS ONE PEDAL DRIVE
One pedal drive allows you to accelerate, slow down and stop using only theaccelerator pedal. Pressing the acceleratordown accelerates your vehicle, releasingpressure on the accelerator with your footstill on the pedal slows down your vehicleand releasing the pedal completely allowsyour vehicle to come to a complete stop ifthe road grade is not excessively steep.See One Pedal Drive Precautions (page262).
ONE PEDAL DRIVE
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: This system is an extradriving aid. It does not replace yourattention and judgment, or the need toapply the brakes. This system does NOTautomatically brake your vehicle. If youfail to press the brake pedal whennecessary, you may collide with anothervehicle.
Shifting into neutral (N) does not hold yourvehicle at a standstill.
Shifting into drive (D) or reverse (R) doesnot cause the vehicle to move if theaccelerator pedal is not pressed.
Note:Always check the transmissionselection before accelerating.
Note:Switch off one pedal drive beforeentering a car wash.
ONE PEDAL DRIVE
LIMITATIONS
One pedal drive is unavailable when anyof the following occur:
•Shifting into an incorrect transmissionposition, such as park (P) when driving.
•Using active park assist.
•Using cruise control.
•Selecting a drive mode other thanengage, whisper, or unbridle. Forexample unbridle extend (GT only)disables one pedal drive.
•Turning off stability control.
Releasing the accelerator pedal may notbring your vehicle to a complete stop onsteep grades.
Increased vehicle load may reduceaccelerator pedal ability to slow thevehicle.

WHAT IS PRE-COLLISION
ASSIST
Pre-collision assist detects and warns ofapproaching hazards in the roadway. Ifyour vehicle is rapidly approaching anotherstationary vehicle, a vehicle traveling in thesame direction as yours, or a pedestrianwithin your driving path, the systemprovides multiple levels of assistance tohelp avoid a collision.
HOW DOES PRE-COLLISION
ASSIST WORK
The system warns the driver of potentialhazards by providing three levels ofassistance.
If your vehicle is rapidly approachingpotential hazards the system provides thefollowing levels of functionality:
1.Alert.
2.Brake Support.
3.Automatic Emergency Braking.
Alert: When active, a flashingvisual warning appears and anaudible warning tone sounds.
Brake Support: The system is designedto help reduce the impact speed bypreparing the brakes for rapid braking. Thesystem does not automatically apply thebrakes. If you press the brake pedal, thesystem could apply additional braking upto maximum braking force, even if youlightly press the brake pedal.
Automatic Emergency Braking:Automatic emergency braking mayactivate if the system determines that acollision is imminent.
Note:If you perceive the pre-collision assistalerts as being too frequent or disturbing, then you can reduce the alert sensitivity.Setting the low sensitivity would result infewer and later warnings of a potentialforward collision. The manufacturerrecommends using the high sensitivitysetting where possible.
Note:Automatic emergency brakingperformance is not affected by thesensitivity setting.
Each system has various levels ofdetection capabilities. See Pre-CollisionAssist Limitations (page 278).
PRE-COLLISION ASSIST

COLD WEATHER
PRECAUTIONS
The functional operation of somecomponents and systems can be affectedat temperatures below approximately-13°F (-25°C).
DRIVING ON SNOW AND ICE
WARNING: If you are driving inslippery conditions that require tirechains or cables, then it is critical thatyou drive cautiously. Keep speeds down, allow for longer stopping distances andavoid aggressive steering to reduce thechances of a loss of vehicle controlwhich can lead to serious injury or death. If the rear end of your vehicle slides whilecornering, steer in the direction of theslide until you regain control of yourvehicle.
On ice and snow, you should drive moreslowly than usual. Your vehicle has a fourwheel anti-lock brake system, do not pumpthe brake pedal. See Anti-Lock BrakingSystem Limitations (page 197).
BREAKING-IN
You need to break in new tires forapproximately 300 mi (480 km). Duringthis time, your vehicle may exhibit someunusual driving characteristics.
PERFORMANCE VEHICLE
PRECAUTIONS
•Verify correct tire pressures.
•Inspect wheels and tires for wear anddamage. Replace any damaged wheelsor tires.
•Do not operate your vehicle at highspeeds with more than two passengersor while carrying cargo.
•It is recommended to cross speedbumps or driveway inclines slowly andat a 45° angle to reduce the risk ofvehicle damage.
•Do not drive through car washes withthe vehicle heavily loaded withpassengers or luggage.
•Use only commercial car washeswithout mechanical tracks or handwash to avoid potential damage.
•Put your vehicle in stay in neutral modewhen entering an automatic car wash.See Selecting a Drive Mode (page260).
DRIVING IN SPECIAL
CONDITIONS
EMERGENCY MANEUVERS
In an unavoidable emergency where youmust make a sudden sharp maneuver, turnthe steering wheel only as rapidly and asfar as required to avoid the emergency.Apply smooth pressure to the acceleratorpedal or brake pedal as needed. Avoidabrupt steering, acceleration and brakingchanges. Abrupt changes could increasethe risk of vehicle roll over, loss of vehiclecontrol and personal injury. If possible, useany available road surfaces to bring yourvehicle under control.
