If the booster seat slides on the vehicleseat upon which it is being used, placing arubberized mesh sold as shelf or carpetliner under the booster seat may improvethis condition. Do not use any item thickerthan this under the booster seat. Checkwith the booster seat manufacturer'sinstructions.
CHILD SAFETY LOCKS
WARNING: You cannot open therear doors from inside if you have put thechild safety locks on.
A child safety lock is on the rear edge ofeach rear door and must be set separatelyfor each door.
Left-Hand Side
Turn it clockwise to switch the child lockon and counterclockwise to switch it off.
Right-Hand Side
Turn it counterclockwise to switch the childlock on and clockwise to switch it off.

Note:You need to complete at least a 90°turn, and longer trailers could require a 180°turn. Camera trailer tracking requires thesystem to locate the hitch ball as well asdetermine the trailer length. Some trailerscould require you to drive straight then turnmultiple times before calibration completes.The touchscreen provides instructions andnotifies you when calibration completes.
Note:For best results, do not calibrate thesystem at night when calibrating.
SWITCHING TRAILER BACKUP
ASSISTANCE ON AND OFF
Press the button and use the touchscreento select the connected trailer.
Note:A trailer must be configured to usetrailer backup assistance. See Configuringthe Trailer (page 370).
Note:If you use the steering wheel whenusing trailer backup assistance, the systemturns off and a message displays in thetouchscreen.
Note:If the trailer was connected just priorto turning the system on, you may need todrive forward to initialize the system. Followthe instructions on the touchscreen toactivate the system.
USING THE TRAILER BACKUP
ASSISTANCE CONTROLLER -

SCREEN
Use the control knob to steer the trailer.Take your hands off the steering wheel andturn the control knob instead. The controlknob acts as the steering control for thetrailer.
Turn and hold counterclockwise to makethe trailer go left.

3.Wait a minimum of two minutes beforedisconnecting the battery.
Note:The engine management system hasa power hold function and remains poweredfor a period of time after you switch theignition off. This is to allow the system tostore diagnostic and adaptive tables.Disconnecting the battery without waitingcan cause damage not covered by thevehicle warranty.
4.Disconnect the negative battery cableterminal.
5.Disconnect the positive battery cableterminal.
6.Remove the battery securing clamp.
7.Remove the battery.
8.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
Note:Before reconnecting the battery,make sure the ignition remains switched off.
Note:Make sure to fully tighten the batterycables.
If you disconnect or replace the vehiclebattery, you must reset the followingfeatures:
•Window bounce-back. See Lockingthe Rear Window Controls (page 128).
•Clock Settings.
•Pre-set radio stations.
Battery Disposal
Make sure that you dispose ofold batteries in anenvironmentally friendly way.Seek advice from your local authorityabout recycling old batteries.
ADJUSTING THE HEADLAMPS
Vertical Aim Adjustment
The headlamps on your vehicle areproperly aimed at the assembly plant. Ifyour vehicle has been in an accident,contact an authorized dealer to check andrealign your headlamps.

1.Park your vehicle directly in front of awall or screen on a level surface,approximately 25 ft (7.6 m) away.
2.Measure the height from the center ofyour headlamp, indicated by a 3millimeter circle on the lens, to theground and mark an 8 ft (2.4 m)horizontal reference line on the verticalwall or screen at this height, a piece ofmasking tape works well.
3.Switch on the low beam headlamps toilluminate the wall or screen and openthe hood. Cover one of the headlampsso no light hits the wall.

Hills, mountains, tall buildings, bridges,tunnels, freeway overpasses, parkinggarages, dense tree foliage andthunderstorms can interfere with thereception.
When you pass a ground-based broadcastrepeating tower, a stronger signal mayovertake a weaker one and result in theaudio system muting.
