Observe the following precautions. Failing to do so may cause death or
serious injury.
■Opening and closing the elec-
tronic sunshade
●Check to make sure that all passen- gers do not have any part of their
body in a position where it could be
caught when the electronic sun- shade is being operated.
●Do not let a child operate the elec-tronic sunshade. Closing the elec-
tronic sunshade on someone can
cause death or serious injury.
■Opening the panoramic moon roof
●Do not allow any passengers to put
their hands or heads outside the vehicle while it is moving.
●Do not sit on top of the panoramic moon roof.
■Opening and closing the pano-ramic moon roof
●The driver is responsible for pano-
ramic moon roof opening and clos- ing operations. In order to prevent
accidental operation, especially by

●When using the wireless remote
control, key or mechanical key and
operating the panoramic moon roof, operate the panoramic moon roof
after checking to make sure that
there is no possibility of any pas- senger having any of their body
parts caught in the panoramic moon
roof. Also, do not let a child operate
panoramic moon roof by the wire- less remote control, key or mechan-
ical key. It is possible for children
and other passengers to get caught in the panoramic moon roof.
●When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine switch off, carry the key and
exit the vehicle along with the child.
There may be accidental opera- tion, due to mischief, etc., that may
possibly lead to an accident.
■Jam protection function
●Never use any part of your body to
intentionally activate the jam pro- tection function.
●The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just
before the panoramic moon roof or
electronic sunshade is fully closed. Also, the jam protection function is
not designed to operate while the
switch is being pr essed. Take care so that your fingers, etc. do not get
caught.
■To prevent burns or injuries
Do not touch the area between the
underside of the panoramic moon roof and the electronic sunshade.
Your hand may get caught and you
could injure yourself. Also, if the vehi- cle is left in direct sunlight for a long
time, the underside of the panoramic
moon roof could become very hot and could cause burns.
NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the pano-
ramic moon roof
●Before opening the panoramic moon roof, make sure that there are
no foreign objects, such as stones
or ice, around the opening.
●Do not hit the surface or edge of the
panoramic moon roof with hard
objects.
■After the vehicle has been
washed or rained on
Before opening the panoramic moon
roof, wipe any water off the pano-

■Driving in the rain
●Drive carefully when it is raining,
because visibility will be reduced, the
windows may become fogged-up, and the road will be slippery.
●Drive carefully when it starts to rain, because the road surface will be
especially slippery.
●Refrain from high speeds when driv-
ing on an expressway in the rain,
because there may be a layer of water between the tires and the road sur-
face, preventing the steering and
brakes from operating properly.
■Engine speed while driving (vehi-
cles with a Multidrive)
In the following conditions, the engine
speed may become high while driving.
This is due to automatic up-shifting con- trol or down-shifting implementation to
meet driving conditions. It does not indi-
cate sudden acceleration.
●The vehicle is judged to be driving
uphill or downhill
●When the accelerator pedal is
released
●When the brake pedal is depressed
while Sport mode is selected

●Do not attach adhesive discs to the
windshield or windows. Do not
place containers such as air fresh- eners on the instrument panel or
dashboard. Adhesive discs or con-
tainers may act as lenses, causing a fire in the vehicle.
●Do not leave a door or window
open if the curved glass is coated with a metallized film such as a sil-
ver-colored one. Reflected sunlight
may cause the glass to act as a lens, causing a fire.
●Always apply the parking brake, shift the shift lever to P (vehicles
with a Multidrive), stop the engine
and lock the vehicle. Do not leave the vehicle unat-
tended while the engine is running.
If the vehicle is parked with the shift lever in P but the parking brake is
not set, the vehicl e may start to
move, possibly leading to an acci- dent.
●Do not touch the exhaust pipes while the engine is running or
immediately after turning the engine
off. Doing so may cause burns.
■When taking a nap in the vehicle
Always turn the engine off. Otherwise,
if you accidentally move the shift lever
or depress the accelerator pedal, this could cause an accident or fire due to
engine overheating. Additionally, if the
vehicle is parked in a poorly ventilated area, exhaust gases may collect and
enter the vehicle, leading to death or
a serious health hazard.
■When braking
●When the brakes are wet, drive
more cautiously.
Braking distance increases when the brakes are wet, and this may
cause one side of the vehicle to
brake differently than the other side. Also, the parking brake may
not securely hold the vehicle.
●If the brake booster device does not
operate, do not follow other vehi-
cles closely and avoid hills or sharp turns that require braking.
In this case, braking is still possible,
but the brake pedal should be depressed more firmly than usual.
Also, the braking distance will
increase. Have your brakes fixed immediately.
●Do not pump the brake pedal if the engine stalls.
Each push on the brake pedal uses
up the reserve for the power-assisted brakes.
●The brake system consists of 2 indi-vidual hydraulic systems; if one of
the systems fails, the other will still
operate. In this case, the brake pedal should be depressed more
firmly than usual and the braking
distance will increase. Have your brakes fixed immediately.
■If the vehicle becomes stuck
Do not spin the wheels excessively
when a driven wheel is up in the air,
or the vehicle is stuck in sand, mud, etc. This may damage the driveline
components or propel the vehicle for-
ward or backward, causing an acci-
dent.

Driving
4-4.Refueling
Turn the engine switch off and
ensure that all the doors and
windows are closed.
Confirm the type of fuel.
■Fuel types
P.576
■Fuel tank opening for unleaded
gasoline
To help prevent incorrect fueling, your vehicle has a fuel tank opening that only
accommodates the special nozzle on
unleaded fuel pumps.
Opening the fuel tank
cap
Perform the following steps to
open the fuel tank cap:
Before refueling the vehicle
WA R N I N G
■When refueling the vehicle
Observe the following precautions
while refueling the vehicle. Failure to
do so may result in death or serious injury.
●After exiting the vehicle and before opening the fuel door, touch an
unpainted metal surface to dis-
charge any static electricity. It is important to discharge static elec-
tricity before refueling because
sparks resulting from static electric- ity can cause fuel vapors to ignite
while refueling.
●Always hold the grips on the fuel tank cap and turn it slowly to
remove it.
A whooshing sound may be heard when the fuel tank cap is loosened.
Wait until the sound cannot be
heard before fully removing the cap. In hot weather, pressurized
fuel may spray out the filler neck
and cause injury.
●Do not allow anyone that has not
discharged static electricity from their body to come close to an open
fuel tank.
●Do not inhale vaporized fuel.
Fuel contains substances that are
harmful if inhaled.
●Do not smoke while refueling the
vehicle. Doing so may cause the fuel to
ignite and cause a fire.
●Do not return to the vehicle or touch
any person or object that is stati-
cally charged. This may cause static electricity to
build up, resulting in a possible igni-
tion hazard.
■When refueling
Observe the following precautions to prevent fuel overflowing from the fuel
tank:
●Securely insert the fuel nozzle into
the fuel filler neck.
●Stop filling the tank after the fuel
nozzle automatically clicks off.
●Do not top off the fuel tank.
3785-4. Playing an audio CD and MP3/WMA discs
CDs with copy-protect features may not
play correctly.
■CD player protection feature
To protect the internal components, playback is automatically stopped when
a problem is detected while the CD
player is being used.
■If a CD is left inside the CD player or in the ejected position for
extended periods
The CD may be damaged and may not play properly.
■Lens cleaners
Do not use lens cleaners. Doing so may
damage the CD player.
■MP3, WMA and AAC files
MP3 (MPEG Audio LAYER3) is a stand- ard audio compression format.
Files can be compressed to approxi-
mately 1/10 of their original size by using MP3 compression.
WMA (Windows Media Audio) is a
Microsoft audio co mpression format.
Windows Media is either a registered
trademark or trademark of Microsoft
Corporation in the United States and/or other countries. This product is pro-
tected by certain intellectual property
rights of Microsoft. Use or distribution of such technology outside of this product
is prohibited without a license from
Microsoft.
This format compresses audio data to a
size smaller than that of the MP3 format.
AAC is short for Advanced Audio Cod-
ing and refers to an audio compression technology standard used with MPEG2
and MPEG4.
There is a limit to the MP3, WMA and AAC file standards and to the media/for-
mats recorded by them that can be
used.
