■LED lights
The lights consist of a number of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your
vehicle to any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reli-able repairer to have the light replaced.
■Condensation build-up on the
inside of the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not
indicate a malfunction. Contact any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer for more information in the fol- lowing situations:
●Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
●Water has built up inside the head-light.
■When replacing an electronic com-ponent, such as a lights, etc.

Press the switch.
All the turn signal lights will flash. To
turn them off, press the switch once
again.
■Emergency flashers
●If the emergency flashers are used for a long time while the EV system is not operating (while the “READY” indica-
tor is not illuminated), the 12-volt bat- tery may discharge.
●If any of the SRS airbags deploy (inflate) or in the event of a strong rear impact, the emergency flashers will
turn on automatically. The emergency flashers will turn off automatically after operating for approximately 20 min-
utes. To manually turn the emergency flashers off, press the switch twice.
(The emergency flashers may not turn
on automatically depending on the force
of the impact and conditions of the colli-
sion.)
1 Steadily step on the brake pedal
with both feet and firmly depress
it.
Do not pump the brake pedal repeat- edly as this will increase the effort required to slow the vehicle.
2 Shift the shift position to N.
If the shift position is shifted to N
3 After slowing down, stop the
vehicle in a safe place by the
road.
4 Stop the EV system.
If the shift position cannot be
shifted to N
3 Keep depressing the brake
pedal with both feet to reduce
vehicle speed as much as possi-

breakdown, etc.

If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer sounds
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights
comes on or flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, but then g oes
off, this does not necessarily indicate a malfunction in the sy stem.
However, if this continues to o ccur, have the vehicle inspected by
any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, o r any
reliable repairer.
Actions to the warning lights or warning buzzers

Indicates that:
 The brake fluid level is low; or
 The brake system is malfunctioning
 Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact
any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer. Continuing to drive the
vehicle may be dangerous.
Warning lightDetails/Actions
(Yellow)
Indicates a malfunction in:
 The regenerative braking system;
 The electronically controlled brake system; or
 The parking brake system
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.

Indicates a malfunction in the vehicle’s charging system
 Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact
any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer.

 The SRS airbag system; or
 The seat belt pretensioner system
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.

 The ABS; or
 The brake assist system
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.

When a buzzer sounds:
Indicates a malfunction in:
 The Brake Override System;
 The Drive-Start Control
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.
Indicates that the shift position was changed and Drive-Start C on-
trol was operated while depressing the accelerator pedal.
 Momentarily release the accelerator pedal.
When a buzzer does not sound:
Indicates that the accelerator and brake pedals are being
depressed simultaneously, and the Brake Override System is
operating.
 Release the accelerator pedal and depress the brake pedal.

■Traction battery charge warning light
■Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt reminder light (warning
buzzer*)
*: Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer:
The driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer sou nds to alert the
driver and front passenger that his or her seat belt is not fas tened. If the seat belt is
unfastened, the buzzer sounds intermittently for a certain peri od of time after the
vehicle reaches a certain speed.
■Rear passengers’ seat belt reminder lights (warning buzzer*)
*: Rear passengers’ seat belt warning buzzer:

Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering) sy s-
tem
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.

Indicates that the remaining charge of the traction battery is low
and charging is required
When the outside temperature is low, this light may turn on ear lier
than usual to urge the driver to charge the traction battery ea rly.

Warns the driver and/or front passenger to fasten their seat belts
 Fasten the seat belt.
If the front passenger’s seat is occupied, the front passen-
ger’s seat belt also needs to be fastened to make the warn-
ing light (warning buzzer) turn off.

Warns the rear passengers to fasten their seat belts
 Fasten the seat belt.

The rear passengers’ seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert t he rear passenger
that his or her seat belt is not fastened. If the seat belt is unfastened, the buzzer
sounds intermittently for a certain period of time after the ve hicle reaches a certain
speed.
■Tire pressure warning light
■LDA indicator (warning buzzer)
■LTA indicator (warning buzzer)

When the light comes on after blinking for approximately 1 minu te
(a buzzer does not sounds):
Malfunction in the tire pressure warning system
 Have the system checked by any authorized Toyota retailer
or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
When the light comes on (a buzzer sounds):
Low tire inflation pressure from natural causes
 After the temperature of the tires has lowered sufficiently,
check the inflation pressure of each tire and adjust them to
the specified level.( P.515)
Low tire inflation pressure from flat tire
 Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and perform
the necessary actions ( P.521)
