Rear Occupant Alert prevents the driver
from leaving a passenger in the rear
seats.
Rear Occupant Alert Operation
Cluster
OCN7050135L
When the driver turns off the engine and
opens the driver’s door after opening and
closing a rear door, a warning message
appears on the cluster.
WARNING
Rear Occupant Alert provides
information to the driver to check
the rear seats but it does not detect
whether there is an object or passenger.
Always check the rear seats when
leaving the vehicle.
Information
The open and close history of the rear
door is initialized if the driver turns off the engine and lock vehicle doors.
However, the alarm may sound again
whenever the driver’s door is opened if the
previous history of the rear door is not initialized .

Convenient Features

This system helps to protect your vehicle
and valuables. The horn will sound and
the hazard warning lights will blink
continuously if any of the following occur:
- A door is opened without using the remote key or smart key.
- The trunk is opened without using the remote key or smart key.
- The engine hood is opened.
The alarm continues for 30 seconds, then
the system resets. To turn off the alarm,
unlock the doors with the remote key or
smart key.
The Theft Alarm System automatically
sets 30 seconds after you lock the doors
and the trunk. For the system to activate,
you must lock the doors and the trunk
from outside the vehicle with the remote
key or smart key or by pressing the
button on the outside of the door handle
with the smart key in your possession.
The hazard warning lights will blink and
the chime will sound once to indicate the
system is armed.
Once the security system is set, opening
any door, the trunk, or the hood without
using the remote key or smart key will
cause the alarm to activate.
The Theft Alarm System will not set if the
hood, the trunk, or any door is not fully
closed. If the system will not set, check
the hood, the trunk, or the doors are fully closed.
Do not attempt to alter this system or
add other devices to it.
Information
• Do not lock the doors until all passengers have left the vehicle. If the
remaining passenger leaves the vehicle when the system is armed, the alarm will be activated.
• If the vehicle is not disarmed with the
remote key or smart key, open the doors by using the mechanical key and place the ignition switch in the ON
position (for remote key) or start the
engine (for smart key) and wait for 30 seconds
• When the system is disarmed but a
door or trunk is not opened within 30
seconds, the system will be rearmed.

Initialization in the process:
1. Initialization begins as the alarm
sounds.
2. The seat and seatback will automatically move backwards. The
alarm sound will continue while the
system is in operation.
3. Initialization will be complete after the seat and seatback move to
the center with an alarm sound. If,
however, cases as follows occur, the
initialization process will come to a
stop and the alarm sound will stop as
well.
- When pushing driving position memory system button
- When pushing driver’s seat height adjustment switch
- When shifting from P (Park) to other positions
- When driving speed exceeds 3 km/h
- When the driver’s door is closed
Easy Access Function (if equipped)
The system will move the driver’s seat
automatically as follows: • Without smart key system
- It will move the driver’s seat rearward when the ignition key is
removed and the driver’s door is opened.
- It will move the driver’s seat forward when the ignition switch is in the
ACC or ON position.
• With smart key system
- It will move the driver’s seat rearward when the Engine Start/
Stop button is in the OFF position
and the driver’s door is opened.
- It will move the driver’s seat forward when the vehicle is turned ON or
the driver’s door is closed with the
smart key with you.
You can activate or deactivate the
Easy Access Function from the User
Settings Mode on the LCD display. For
more details, refer to “LCD Display”
in chapter 4. If your vehicle is
equipped with additional navigation,
please refer to the infotainment
system manual separately supplied.

WARNING
Do not use the interior lights when
driving in the dark. The interior lights
may obscure your view and cause an

NOTICE
Do not use the interior lights for
extended periods when the vehicle is
turned off or the battery will discharge.
Interior Lamp AUTO Cut
The interior lamps will automatically go
off approximately 20 minutes after the
engine is turned off and the doors are closed. If a door is opened, the lamp
will go off 40 minutes after the engine is
turned off. If the doors are locked by the
remote key or smart key and the vehicle
enters the armed stage of the theft
