Setting a maximum height for the power tailgate *
The tailgate can be set to stop opening at a certain height, for example if the tailgateneeds to be opened in a garage with a lowceiling.
Setting maximum opening height:
1. Open the tailgate to the desired opening height.
NOTE
It is not possible to program an opening position lower than half-open tailgate.
2.Press the button on the lower edge of
the tailgate and hold for at least 3 seconds.
> Two brief audio signals will sound to indicate that the position has been stored.
Resetting to maximum opening position:
–Move the tailgate manually to its highest possible position and press the
but-
ton on the tailgate for at least 3 seconds.
> Two audio signals will sound to indicate that the stored position has been erased. The tailgate can then beopened to its maximum position.
NOTE
If the system has been working contin- uously for a prolonged period of time, itwill be switched off to avoid overload.It can be used again after approxi-mately 2 minutes.

Foot movement tailgate operation *
To make it easier to operate the tailgate when your hands are full, it can be opened andclosed by moving your foot in a forward kick-ing motion under the rear bumper.
The sensor is located to the left of center under the rear bumper 14
.
One of the vehicle's remote keys must be within range behind the vehicle, approx.1 meter (3 feet), for opening and closing to bepossible. This applies even if the vehicle isunlocked in order to prevent the trunk lid frominadvertently opening e.g. at a car wash.

Foot movement operation
Kicking motion within the sensor's activation area.
–Make one slow forward kicking motion
with your foot under the left section of the rear bumper. Take a step back. Do nottouch the bumper.
> A brief audible signal will be heard when opening or closing is activated - the tailgate will open/close.
If several opening attempts have been madewithout the remote key in range behind thevehicle, foot movement operation will not beavailable for a short period of time. Do not keep your foot under the vehicle in a kicking motion. This may prevent activation.
Interrupting opening or closing with a foot movement
–Make one slow forward kicking motion
while the tailgate is opening or closing to stop its movement.
The remote key does not need to be withinrange of the vehicle to interrupt opening orclosing of the tailgate. If the tailgate stops near the closed position, it will open the next time it is activated.
NOTE
There is a risk of reduced or lost function if there are large amounts of snow, ice, dirt,etc. on the rear bumper. Make sure to keepthe bumper clean.
NOTE
Please note that the system could be inad- vertently activated in a car wash or similarif the remote key is within range.
Vehicle with skid plate accessory *If the vehicle is equipped with skid plate, the sensor is located towards the left corner of thebumper.
To activate opening and closing using a foot movement on a vehicle with skid plate, make akicking motion from the side of the vehicle.One of the vehicle's remote keys must bewithin range (approx. 1 meter (3 feet)) foropening and closing to be possible.

Private Locking The tailgate and the glove compartment can be locked using the private locking functionto prevent them from being opened, e.g.when the vehicle is left at a workshop or witha valet.
The function button for pri- vate locking is located in thecenter display's Functionview. Depending on the cur-rent status of the lock,

Activating and deactivating private locking
Private locking is activated using the function button in the center display and a PIN code.
NOTE
For the valet lock function to be activated the car must be in at least ignition mode I.
Two codes are used for private locking:
A security code, which is created the first time the function is used.
A PIN code, which is changed each timethe function is activated.
Entering security code before initial
use
The first time the function is used, a securitycode must be selected. This code can then beused to deactivate private locking if theselected PIN code has been forgotten or lost.The security code functions as a PUK (secur-ity) code for all PIN codes used for privatelocking. Save the security code in a safe place.

To create a security code:
1. Tap the button for private locking in Func-
tion view.
> A pop-up window will appear.
2. Enter the desired security code and press
Confirm.
> The security code is saved. The private locking function is now ready for activa- tion.
Activating private locking1. Tap the button for private locking in Func- tion view.
> A pop-up window will appear. 2. Enter the code you would like to use to
unlock the glove compartment and the tailgate and tap
Confirm.
> The glove compartment and tailgate will lock. A green indicator light will illu- minate next to the button in Functionview to confirm locked status.
Deactivating private locking1. Tap the button for private locking in Func- tion view.
> A pop-up window will appear.
2. Enter the code used for locking and tap
Confirm.
> The glove compartment and tailgate will unlock. The green indicator light next to the button in Function view willgo out to confirm unlocked status.
Forgotten PIN codeIf you have forgotten your PIN code or enteredit incorrectly more than three times, the secur-ity code can be used to deactivate privatelocking. If the vehicle is unlocked using Volvo On Callor the Volvo On Call app, private locking willbe automatically deactivated.
Forgotten security code
If you have forgotten your security code, con- tact an authorized Volvo retailer for assistancedeactivating private locking.

Alarm The alarm emits sound and light signals if anyone without a valid remote key attemptsto break into the vehicle or interferes with thestart battery or alarm siren.
When armed, the alarm will be triggered if:
the hood, tailgate or any door is opened.
a battery cable is disconnected.
the alarm siren is disconnected.
Alarm signalsThe following occurs if the alarm is triggered:
A siren will sound for 30 seconds or until the alarm is turned off.
The hazard warning flashers will flash for5 minutes or until the alarm is turned off.
If the reason the alarm was triggered is notrectified, the alarm cycle will repeat up to 10 times 15
.
Alarm indicator
A red indicator light on the dashboard shows the status of the alarm:
Indicator off - the alarm is disarmed.
Indicator flashes once every two seconds -the alarm is armed.
The indicator flashes quickly after thealarm has been disabled for up to30 seconds or until the ignition is put in

mode – the alarm has been triggered.
In the event of alarm system failureIf a problem is detected in the alarmsystem, a symbol and the message

The alarm is armed when the vehicle is locked.

Disarming the alarm without a functioning
remote key
The vehicle can be unlocked and disarmed even if the remote key is not functioning, e.g. ifthe battery is discharged.
1. Open the driver's door using the detacha- ble key blade.
> This will trigger the alarm.
Location of the backup key reader in the cup holder.
2. Place the remote key on the key symbol inthe backup reader in the tunnel console's cup holder. 3. Turn the start knob clockwise and release.
> The alarm will be disarmed.
Turning off a triggered alarm–Press the unlock button on the remote key or put the ignition into mode I by turning
the start knob clockwise and then releas-ing it.
Automatically arming and disarming the alarm
Automatically arming the alarm helps prevent inadvertently leaving the vehicle without alarmprotection. If the vehicle is unlocked using the remote key (and the alarm is disarmed) but none of thedoors or tailgate are opened within twominutes, the alarm will be automaticallyrearmed. The vehicle will also re-lock. On some markets, the alarm will be automati- cally armed following a slight delay after thedriver's door has been opened and closedwithout being locked. Blind sectors
There are "blind" sectors between the cameras' fields of vision.
With Park Assist Camera's 360° view *
selected, objects/obstacles may not be detected if they are located in the "joints"where the edges of the individual cameraviews meet.
WARNING
Even if it seems as though only a fairly small section of the screen image isobstructed, this may mean that a relativelylarge sector is hidden and obstacles theremay not be detected until they are verynear the vehicle.
Defective camera
If a camera sector is dark and contains this symbol, thisindicates that the camera isnot functioning properly. See the following illustration for an example.
The vehicle's left-side camera is malfunctioning.
A dark camera sector may also be displayed in the following situations, but without the
defective camera symbol: a door is open
the tailgate is open
a rearview mirror is folded in
Lighting conditions
The camera image is automatically adjusted according to the current lighting conditions.This means that the brightness and quality of the image may vary slightly. Poor lighting con-ditions may result in reduced image quality.
Rear Park Assist Camera
WARNING
Be extra cautious when reversing if this symbol isshown when a trailer, bikecarrier or similar isattached and electricallyconnected to the vehicle. The symbol indicates that
the rear parking assist sensors are deacti-
vated and will not warn of any obstacles.
NOTE
A bike carrier and other accessories moun- ted on the rear of the vehicle can obscurethe camera's view.

Leveling control * and suspension
The vehicle's leveling control system adjusts the suspension and shock absorbers auto-matically to help optimize comfort and con-trol while driving. Leveling can also be con-trolled manually to facilitate loading or get-ting in and out of the vehicle.
Pneumatic suspension and shock absorbers
The system is adapted to the selected drive mode and vehicle speed. The pneumatic sus-pension reduces the vehicle's ground clear-ance at higher speeds to reduce air resistanceand increase stability. The shock absorbers arenormally set to help optimize comfort and areadjusted continuously according to the roadsurface and the vehicle's acceleration, brakingand cornering. The instrument panel indi-cates when the suspensionlevel is being adjusted.
The following apply if a door or the tailgate is opened:
If a door is opened, the level can only be adjusted upwards.
If the tailgate is open, the level can only beadjusted downwards.
ParkingWhen parking, make sure that there is ade-quate space above and below the vehiclesince ground clearance may vary depending on e.g. ambient temperature, how the vehicleis loaded, if loading mode is used, which drivemode is selected after the engine is started,etc. The level may also be adjusted a period after the vehicle is parked. This is to compensatefor any height changes that may occur due totemperature changes in the air springs whenthe vehicle cools.
TransportingWhen transporting the vehicle on a ferry, trainor truck, only secure (lash) the vehicle aroundthe tires, not using any other parts of the chas-sis. Changes in the pneumatic suspensionmay occur during transport, which couldadversely affect the lashing and result in dam-age.
