Instruments
Release the parking brake to switch off the
warning lamp, keeping your foot on the brake
pedal.
BrakingFixed.
The brake fluid level is too low.
Carry out (1) then top up with fluid that complies
with the Manufacturer's recommendations.
If the problem persists, carry out (2).
Fixed.
The electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD) system is faulty.Carry out (1) and then (2).
Orange warning/indicator lamps
Service
Temporarily on. One or more minor faults, for which there
is/are no specific warning lamp(s), have been
detected.
Carry out (2).
Fixed, accompanied by the display of a
message.
One or more major faults, for which there is/are
no specific warning lamp(s), have been detected.
Identify the cause of the fault using the message
displayed in the instrument panel, then carry out
(3).
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)Fixed.

The vehicle retains conventional braking. Drive carefully at moderate speed, then carry

Distance Alert / Active Safety BrakeFixed, accompanied by the display of a

Touch screen audio and telematics system
This audio system control panel, located in the
centre of the dashboard, gives access to menus
in order to customise some equipment.
The corresponding information is displayed in
the touch screen.
It is available in 9 languages: German, English,
Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish,
Portuguese and Turkish.
For safety reasons, some menus are only
accessible with the ignition off.
Provides access to the “Settings” menu.
Allows you to scroll up in a menu or
increase a value.
Allows you to scroll down in a menu or decrease a value.

The settings in sub-menus 4, 5 and 6
vary depending on the equipment
installed on the vehicle.
From the "Display" sub-menu, it is possible to:
– select "Languages" and choose one of the languages mentioned above,– select "Unit of measurement" and set the consumption (mpg, l/100 km), distances (miles,
km) and temperature (°F, °C),
– select "Trip B display" to activate or deactivate trip B of the trip computer (On, Off).
From the "Safety/Assistance" sub-menu, it is
possible to:
– select "Parkview Camera", then "Reversing camera" to activate or deactivate its use (On,
Off),
– select “Parkview Camera", then "Camera delay" to activate or deactivate the maintaining
of the display for 10 seconds or up to 11 mph (18
km/h) (On, Off),
– select "Traffic Sign" to activate or deactivate its use (On, Off),– select "Passenger airbag" to activate or deactivate its use (On, Off).
From the "Lights" sub-menu, it is possible to:
– select "Daytime running lamps" to activate or deactivate their use (On, Off),– select "Auto. main beam headlamps" to activate or deactivate its use (On, Off),– select "Headlamp sensor" to adjust its sensitivity (1, 2, 3).
From the "Doors & locking" sub-menu, it is
possible to:
– select "Autoclose" to activate or deactivate its use (On, Off).
Setting the date and time
Using the MODE control panel
► Press the “MODE” button.

Never leave the vehicle without first
switching the ignition off with the key.
Never refuel with the engine in STOP
mode; you must switch off the ignition
using the key.
Special cases: STOP mode
not available
STOP mode is not activated when:– the system is initialising,– the driver's door is open,– the driver's seat belt is not fastened,– the air conditioning is on,– the rear screen demisting is on,– the windscreen wipers are on fast wipe,– the reverse gear is engaged for the parking manoeuvre,– some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, particle filter regeneration,
braking assistance, exterior temperature, etc.)
where the engine is needed to assure control of
a system.
– during intensive use of Stop & Start, it may be deactivated to conserve starting ability; go
to a PEUGEOT dealer to have the function
reactivated.
This indicator lamp in the instrument panel flashes for a few seconds, then
goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
Going into engine START
mode
With a gear engaged, the automatic restarting of the engine is only possible by fully depressing the clutch pedal.This indicator lamp goes off and the engine restarts.
If, after an automatic restart in START mode, the
driver does not perform any action on the vehicle
within 3 minutes, the system stops the engine
permanently. The engine can only be restarted
with the ignition key.
Special cases: START mode
activated automatically
The START mode may be invoked automatically
in the following circumstances:
– the vehicle is free-wheeling on a gradient,– the windscreen wipers are on fast wipe,– the air conditioning is on,– the engine has been stopped for around 3 minutes with Stop & Start,
– some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, air
conditioning setting, etc.) where the engine is
needed for control of the system or vehicle.
In this case, a message appears in the
instrument panel screen, accompanied by
this indicator lamp, which flashes for a few
seconds, then goes off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
While in STOP mode with a manual
gearbox, if a gear is engaged without
fully depressing the clutch pedal, restarting
may not take place.
An indicator lamp and/or message is
displayed in the instrument panel asking
you to fully depress the clutch pedal to allow
restarting.
With the engine stopped in STOP mode,
if the driver unfastens their seat belt and
opens a front door, the engine can only be
restarted using the ignition key. There is an
audible signal, accompanied by flashing of this
indicator lamp, and the display of a message.
Malfunction
In the event of a malfunction, the Stop &
Start is deactivated and this warning lamp
comes on, accompanied by a message on the
instrument panel display.
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
In the event of a malfunction in STOP mode, the
engine can be restarted by fully depressing the clutch pedal or putting the gear lever in neutral.
Hill start assist
This system keeps your vehicle briefly stationary
(for approximately 2 seconds) when making a hill
start, while you transfer your foot from the brake
pedal to the accelerator pedal.
This system (also called HHC - Hill Hold Control), integrated with the dynamic stability
control system, is activated in the following
conditions:
– the vehicle must be stationary, engine running, foot on the brake,– the gradient of the road must be steeper than 5%,– uphill, the gearbox must be in neutral or in a gear other than reverse,– downhill, reverse gear must be engaged.
The hill start assist system is a driving
aid. It is not an automatic vehicle parking
function or an automatic parking brake.
Operation
With the brake pedal and clutch pedal pressed,
from the time you release the brake pedal,

control system, is activated in the following

– the vehicle must be stationary, engine running, foot on the brake,– the gradient of the road must be steeper than 5%,– uphill, the gearbox must be in neutral or in a gear other than reverse,– downhill, reverse gear must be engaged.
The hill start assist system is a driving
aid. It is not an automatic vehicle parking
function or an automatic parking brake.
Operation
With the brake pedal and clutch pedal pressed,
from the time you release the brake pedal,
without using the parking brake, you have
approximately 2 seconds to move off before the
vehicle starts to roll back.
During the moving off phase, the function is
deactivated automatically, gradually releasing
the braking pressure. During this phase, you
may hear the typical mechanical brake release
noise, signalling the imminent movement of the
vehicle.
Do not leave the vehicle while it is being
held temporarily by hill start assist.
If you need to get out of the vehicle with
the engine running, apply the parking brake
manually then ensure that the parking brake
indicator lamp is on.
Hill start assist is deactivated in the following
situations:
– when the clutch pedal is released,– when the parking brake is applied,– when the engine is switched off,– if the engine stalls.
Malfunction
If a malfunction of the system occurs, this
warning lamp lights up, accompanied by
an audible signal and confirmed by a message
on the display. Have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Tyre under-inflation detection
System which automatically checks the
pressures of the tyres while driving.
The system continuously monitors the pressures
of the four tyres, as soon as the vehicle is
moving.
A pressure sensor is located in the valve of each
tyre (except the spare wheel).
The system triggers an alert as soon as it
detects a drop in the inflation pressure of one or
more tyres.
The under-inflation detection system
does not replace the need for vigilance
on the part of the driver.
This system does not avoid the need to
regularly check the tyre pressures (including
the spare wheel) as well as before a long
journey.
Driving with under-inflated tyres, particularly
in adverse conditions (heavy load, high
speed, long journey):
– worsens road-holding,– lengthens braking distances,– causes premature wear of the tyres,– increases fuel consumption.

6Blind Spot Monitoring
System with trailer
detection
Refer to the General recommendations on the
use of driving and manoeuvring aids.
This system includes sensors, placed on the
sides of the rear bumper, which monitor the blind
spot areas.
It warns the driver of the presence of another
vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle) in the areas
hidden from their field of vision, while driving and reversing.
If a trailer is hitched to the vehicle, the detection
area is enlarged by the length of the trailer.
The warning is given by a fixed warning lamp
that appears in the door mirror on the side in
question. Depending on the configuration, an
audible warning may sound.
Activation/Deactivation
The function can be activated or
deactivated using the MODE button in the
Blind spot menu.

(MODE), refer to the corresponding section.
Two modes of activation are available:
– VISUAL: visual warning. While driving, a
warning lamp appears in the door mirror on the
side where a vehicle is detected.
– VISUAL and AUDIBLE: visual and audible
warning. While driving, a warning lamp appears
in the door mirror on the side in question. If the
direction indicator is activated on the side where
the vehicle is detected, an audible warning will
sound.
When starting the vehicle, the warning lamp comes on in each mirror to indicate that the
system is activated.
The status of the system remains in the memory
when the ignition is switched off.
Reverse gear
The system assists the driver during their
manoeuvres in reverse (e.g. exit from a parking
space).
It detects vehicles arriving to the left or right of
the vehicle at a speed of between approximately
1 and 22 mph (1 and 35 km/h).
When a vehicle is detected, a warning lamp
comes on in the mirror on the side in question,
supplemented by an audible warning.
Trailer detection
The system detects the presence and length of a
trailer. The vehicle detection area in blind spots
is extended by the length of the trailer.
The trailer detection mode is set via the MODE button.

Two modes are available:
– Max: for a trailer length greater than 9 metres.

The message "Vehicle close" is displayed.Level 2 (red): visual and audible alert,
signalling that a collision is imminent.
The message "Brake! " is displayed.
Level 3: finally, in some cases, a haptic alert
in the form of micro-braking can be given,
confirming the risk of collision.
Where the speed of your vehicle is too
high approaching another vehicle, the
first level of alert may not be displayed: the
level 2 alert may be displayed directly.
Important:
the level 1 alert is never displayed for a stationary obstacle or when the " Close"
trigger threshold has been selected.
Intelligent emergency
braking assistance
If the driver brakes, but not sufficiently to avoid a
collision, this system will supplement the braking,
within the limits of the laws of physics.
This assistance will only be provided if the driver
presses the brake pedal.
Active Safety Brake
This function, also called automatic emergency
braking, intervenes following the alerts if the
driver does not react quickly enough and does
not operate the vehicle's brakes.
It aims to reduce the speed of impact or avoid a
collision where the driver fails to react.
Operation
The system operates under the following
conditions:
– The vehicle's speed does not exceed 50 mph (80 km/h) when a stationary vehicle is detected.
– The vehicle's speed is between 3 mph and 53 mph (5 km/h and 85 km/h) when a moving vehicle is detected.
This warning lamp flashes (for about 10 seconds) once the function is acting on the vehicle's brakes.
With a manual gearbox, in the event of automatic
emergency braking until the vehicle comes to a
complete stop, the engine may stall.
The driver can maintain control of the vehicle at any time by sharply turning the
steering wheel and/or pressing the
accelerator pedal.
Operation of the function may be felt by
slight vibration in the brake pedal.
If the vehicle comes to a complete stop, the
automatic braking is maintained for 1 to 2
seconds.
Malfunction
In the event of a system malfunction, this
warning lamp comes on on the instrument
panel, accompanied by an onscreen message
and an audible signal.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.
If these warning lamps come on
after the engine has been switched
off and then restarted, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop to have the
system checked.
Audible rear parking
sensors
Refer to the General recommendations on the
use of driving and manoeuvring aids .
If fitted to your vehicle, the system consists of 4
proximity sensors installed in the rear bumper.
They detect any obstacle, e.g. person, vehicle,
tree, barrier, which is behind the vehicle while
manoeuvring.
Certain types of obstacle detected at the
beginning of the manoeuvre will no longer be
detected at the end of manoeuvre if they are
located in the blind spots between and under the
sensors. Examples: stake, roadworks cone or
pavement post.
The rear parking sensors may be associated
with the reversing camera.
Switching on
