Mood lighting *
The vehicle is equipped with LEDs that providefaint lighting in various colors. This lighting is onwhen the engine is running. Mood lighting can beadjusted in the center display and also fine-tunedusing the thumb wheel in the dashboard.
Lighting in the door storage
compartments
Lighting in the door storage compartmentscomes on when the doors are opened and goesout when the vehicle is locked. The brightnesscan be adjusted using the thumb wheel in thedashboard.
Lighting in the tunnel console's front
cup holder
The lighting in front console cup holdersswitches on when the vehicle is unlocked and offwhen the vehicle is locked. The brightness canbe adjusted using the thumb wheel in the dash-board.

Adjusting interior lighting
Illumination in the vehicle varies depending onignition mode. The interior lighting can beadjusted with a thumb wheel in the dashboardand certain light functions can also be adjustedvia the center display.
The thumb wheel on the dash-board to the left of the steeringwheel can be used to adjustthe brightness of the displaylighting, instrument lights,ambient lighting and moodlighting*.
Adjust ambient decor lighting
1.Tap Settings in the Top view in the centerdisplay.
2.Tap My CarLights and LightingInterior Lighting.
3. Choose from among the following settings:
Under Ambient Light Intensity, selectOff, Low or High.
Under Ambient Light Level, selectReduced or Full.
Adjusting mood lighting *
The vehicle is equipped with several LEDs thatprovide faint lighting in various colors. This light-ing is on when the engine is running.
Changing the brightness
1.Tap Settings in the Top view in the centerdisplay.
2.Tap My CarLights and Lighting

3.Under Interior Mood Light Intensity, selectOff, Low or High.
Changing the color of the light

3.Choose By Temperature or By Color tochange the color of the light.
If By Temperature is selected, the light willchange according to the temperature set forthe passenger compartment.

Climate
The vehicle is equipped with electronic climatecontrol. The climate system cools, heats anddehumidifies the air in the passenger compart-ment.
All of the climate system functions are controlledfrom the center display and the buttons on thecenter console.
Certain rear seat functions can also be controlledfrom the climate controls* on the rear of the tun-nel console.

Climate zones
The vehicle is divided into climate zones to makeit possible to set different temperatures for dif-ferent parts of the passenger compartment.
2-zone climate system
Climate zones with 2-zone climate system.
In 2-zone climate systems, the passenger com-partment temperature can be set separately forthe left and right sides of the vehicle.

Climate control sensors
The climate system has a number of sensors tohelp regulate the climate settings in the vehicle.
Location of the sensors
Sunlight sensors - on the upper side of thedashboard.
Humidity sensor - in the rearview mirror con-sole.
Ambient temperature sensor - in the right-side door mirror.
Passenger compartment temperature sensor- near the buttons in the center console.
NOTE
Do not cover or block the sensors with cloth-ing or other objects.

Passenger compartment air filter
All air entering the passenger compartmentthrough the climate control system intake is fil-tered.
Replacing the passenger compartment
filter
To maintain the high performance of the climatecontrol system, the filter must be replaced regu-larly. Follow Volvo's service schedule for recom-mended replacement intervals. When driving inareas with a lot of smog, dust, etc., the filter mayneed to be changed more frequently.
NOTE
There are two types of passenger compart-ment filters. Make sure that the correct filteris installed.

Air distribution
The climate system distributes incoming airthrough a number of vents in the passengercompartment.
Automatic and manual air distribution
When the auto-climate feature is on, air distribu-tion is regulated automatically. Air distribution canalso be controlled manually.
Adjustable air vents
Certain air vents in the vehicle are adjustable,which means they can be opened/closed and thedirection of the air flow from the vent can beadjusted.

Adjusting air distribution
Air distribution can be adjusted manually if nee-ded.
1. Tap the symbol in the center of the climatebar to open Climate view in the center dis-play.

2.Tap one or more air distribution buttons toopen/close the airflow for that vent.

Opening, closing and directing airvents
Some of the air vents in the passenger compart-ment can be individually opened, closed anddirected.
Misting can be eliminated by directing the outerair vents towards the door windows.
Direct the outer air vents into the passengercompartment to maintain a comfortable tempera-ture in warm weather.
Opening and closing the air vents
Air vents on the dashboard:
–Turn the knob in the center of the air vent toopen/close airflow from the vent.
When the mark on the knob is vertical, theairflow is strongest.
Air vents on the door pillars:
–Move the lever in the center of the air ventup/down to open/close the airflow from thevent.
The airflow is stopped when the lever is inthe lowest position. In other positions, the air-flow is constant.
Directing air flow
–Move the lever in the center of the air venthorizontally or vertically to direct the airflowfrom the vent.

Air distribution can be adjusted manually if nee-ded. The following options are available.
Air distributionPurpose
If all air distribution buttons are deselected in manual mode, the climate control system will revert to automatic mode.
Main airflow from defroster vents. Some airflow from other vents. Helps remove ice and condensation in cold and humid weather(blower speed should not be set too low).
Main airflow from dashboard vents. Some airflow from other vents. Provides effective cooling in warm weather.
Main airflow from floor vents. Some airflow from other vents. Provides heating or cooling in footwell areas.

Lock indication
The turn signals will flash when the vehicle islocked or unlocked.
Exterior confirmation
Locking
The turn signals will flash once and the door
mirrors will fold in1 to confirm the vehicle islocked.
Unlocking
The turn signals will flash twice and the door
mirrors will fold out1 to confirm the vehicle isunlocked.
The trunk lid, hood and all doors must be closedfor confirmation to be given. If only the driver's
door is closed when the vehicle is locked2, thevehicle will be locked but the turn signals will onlyflash to indicate locking when all doors and thetrunk and hood have been closed.
Lock and alarm indicators on the
dashboard
The locks and alarm indicator will display the sta-tus of the locking system:
One long flash indicates locking.
When the vehicle is locked, this will be indi-cated by short, pulsating flashes.
Rapid flashing after disabling the alarm indi-cates that the alarm has been triggered.
Lock button indicators
Front door
Lock buttons with indicator lights in front door.
Illuminated indicator lights in both front door lockbuttons indicate that all doors are locked. If anydoor is opened, the lights in both doors will goout.

Keyless locking
All of the doors have to be closed before thevehicle can be locked. However, the trunk lid canbe open when a door handle is used for locking.
–Touch the marked area on the outside of oneof the door handles after the door is closed.
>The lock indicator light on the dashboardwill flash to confirm that the vehicle islocked.
To close all door windows at the same time -place your finger on the pressure-sensitiveindentation on the outside of the door handle andhold it there until the side windows have closed.
Locking when the trunk lid is open
NOTE
If the vehicle is locked and the trunk lid is stillopen, make sure that the remote key is notleft in the trunk when the trunk lid is closed.
If the key is detected in the vehicle, the trunklid will not lock when it is closed.
Keyless unlocking
–To unlock, grasp a door handle or lightlypress the rubberized button on the undersideof the trunk lid handle.
>The lock indicator light on the dashboardwill stop flashing to confirm that the vehi-cle is unlocked.
The rubberized button on the trunk lid can only be usedfor unlocking.
Automatic relocking
If none of the doors or trunk lid are opened withintwo minutes after being unlocked, they will auto-matically relock. This function reduces the risk ofinadvertently leaving the vehicle unlocked.

Keyless unlock settings*
Several different sequences are available forkeyless unlocking.
To change this setting:
1.Tap Settings in the center display's Topview.
2.Tap My CarLockingKeyless Unlock
3. Select alternative:
All Doors – unlocks all doors at the sametime.
Single Door – unlocks the selected door.
