Steering mounted controls
In mode M or D, the steering mounted control
paddles allow the driver to change gear
manually.
These paddles cannot be used to engage
neutral, nor to select or leave reverse
g e a r.
Displays in the instrument
panel
If the driver's door is opened with the
ignition on, a message is displayed asking
you to put the gearbox into mode P .
The state of the gearbox is displayed in
the instrument panel for a few moments
after switching off the ignition.
Operation
With the engine running, if it is necessary to
press the brake pedal or the Unlock button
in order to change mode, an alert message is
displayed in the instrument panel.
Only appropriate attempted changes of mode
are accepted. With the engine running and the brakes
released, if R
, D or M is selected, the
vehicle moves off, even without pressing
the accelerator pedal.
Never press the accelerator and brake
pedals at the same time – risk of damage
to the gearbox!
In the event of a battery failure, you
must place the chock supplied with the
vehicle tools against one of the wheels to
immobilise the vehicle.

Special aspects of automatic
mode
For maximum acceleration without touching the
selector, push the accelerator to the floor (kick-
down). The gearbox shifts down automatically
or holds the gear selected until the maximum
engine speed is reached.
The steering mounted controls allow the driver
to temporarily select a gear, if the road and
engine speed permit.
Special aspects of manual mode
The change from one gear to another takes
place only if the road speed and engine speed
permit.
Starting the vehicle
The gearbox selects the gear that offers
optimum per formance, taking account of the
exterior temperature, the profile of the road, the
load on the vehicle and the style of driving.From mode P

Switching off the ignition
To switch off the ignition, the vehicle must be
stationary.
Changing to free-wheel
To put the vehicle in free-wheeling mode with
the engine switched off:

ithin 5 seconds, switch the ignition on
again,

ith your foot on the brake pedal, push the
selector for ward or back once to confirm N

After this time limit, the gearbox engages mode
P ; you should then restart the procedure.
If you open the driver's door when mode N
is engaged, an audible signal will sound.
It
will stop when you close the driver's
door again.

ccelerate progressively to automatically
release the electric parking brake.

ith the parking brake released, the vehicle
then moves off.
In severe wintry conditions (temperature
below -23°C), it is recommended that the
engine be allowed to run for a few minutes
before moving off, to ensure the correct
operation and durability of the engine and
gearbox.
Stopping the vehicle
Whatever the state of the gearbox when the
ignition is switched off, mode P is engaged
automatically and immediately.
However, in mode N , mode P will be engaged
after a duration of 5 seconds (allowing for the
process of putting the vehicle to free-wheeling).
Check that mode P has been engaged and that
the electric parking brake has been applied
automatically; if not, apply it manually.
Gearbox operating fault
The corresponding indicator lamps in
the selector and the electric parking
brake control lever must be on, as well
as those in the instrument panel.
Hill start assist
System which keeps your vehicle immobilised
temporarily (approximately 2 seconds) when
starting on a gradient, the time it takes to
move your foot from the brake pedal to the
accelerator pedal.
This system only operates when:

he vehicle has been brought to a complete
stop, with your foot on the brake pedal,

ertain slope conditions are met,
-

w
ith the driver’s door closed.
This is signalled by the illumination
of this warning lamp, accompanied
by the display of a message and an
audible signal, when the ignition is
switched on.
Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop.
Do not drive faster than 62 mph (100

km/h),
keeping to the speed limit.
The gearbox switches to back-up mode: mode
D is locked in third gear, the steering-mounted
control paddles are inoperative, mode M is no
longer available. You may feel a pronounced
jolt when engaging reverse. This does not
present any risk for the gearbox.
Selector operating fault
Minor malfunction
You are alerted by this warning lamp
lighting up, accompanied by the
display of a message and an audible
signal.
Drive cautiously and go to a PEUGEOT or a
qualified workshop.
Major malfunction
You are alerted by the illumination of
this warning lamp.
Stop as soon as it is safe to do so, away
from the traffic, and call a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
When the ignition is switched off, the
gearbox goes into mode P automatically.
In certain cases, the selector lamps may not
come on, but the state of the gearbox is still
displayed in the instrument panel.

Do not leave the vehicle while it is being
held temporarily by hill start assist.
If you need to leave the vehicle with the
engine running, apply the parking brake
manually then ensure that the parking
brake warning lamp and the indicator
lamp P in the control lever of the electric
parking brake are on fixed.
The hill start assist function cannot be
deactivated. However, use of the parking
brake to immobilise the vehicle interrupts
its operation.
Operation
Uphill, with the vehicle stationar y, the
vehicle is held for a shor t time when you
release the brake pedal:

rovided you are in first gear or neutral on a
manual gearbox.

p
rovided you are in mode D or M with an
automatic gearbox. Downhill, with the vehicle stationary and
reverse gear engaged, the vehicle is held
for a shor t time when you release the brake
pedal.
Operating fault
If a fault in the system occurs, these warning
lamps come on.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.
Active Suspension
Control
This suspension can modulate itself to the
following parameters: state and profile of the
road, load of the vehicle, driving style and
selected driving mode.
The mode can be selected using the driving
modes control on the central console.
For more information on the Driving modes
,
refer to the corresponding section. It is managed by a control unit, which interprets
the data transmitted by different sensors to
apply the optimal level of damping to each
shock absorber according to these parameters.
It offers three modes: Comfort , Normal and
Sport .
In Comfort mode, it favours soft damping to
improve comfort on poor road sur faces.
In Normal mode, it offers the best compromise
between comfort and handling.
In Sport mode, it favours firm damping to limit
body movements.
Driving modes
These various driving modes offered
correspond to specific vehicle settings.
This choice of driving modes depends on the
vehicle’s equipment.
Each time the ignition is switched on, " Normal"
is selected by default.

A time counter calculates the time spent in
STOP mode during the journey. It is reset to
zero every time the ignition is switched on with
the "START/STOP " button.
For your comfort, during parking
manoeuvres, STOP mode is not available
for a few seconds after coming out of
reverse gear or turning the steering wheel.
The Stop & Start does not affect the
operation of vehicle systems, such as
braking, etc.
Special cases: STOP mode not

Adjusting the limit speed
(set ting)
You do not have to switch the speed limiter on
in order to set the speed.
To modify the limit speed setting from the
current speed of the vehicle:

n steps of +/- 1 mph (km/h), make
successive short presses on button 2 or 3 ,

ontinuously, in steps of +/- 5 mph (km/h),
press and hold button 2 or 3 .
To modify the limit speed setting using
memorised speeds and from the touch screen:

The selection screen closes after a few
moments.
This setting becomes the new limit speed. To modify the limit speed setting from the
speed suggested by the vehicle Speed Limit
recognition and recommendation:

The speed displays immediately in the
instrument panel as the new speed setting.Temporarily exceeding the
programmed speed
F If you want to temporarily exceed the programmed limit speed, press firmly on
the accelerator pedal, going beyond the
point of resistance . On a steep descent or in the event of
sharp acceleration, the speed limiter will
not be able to prevent the vehicle from
exceeding the programmed speed.
You may have to brake to control the
speed of your vehicle.
The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily
and the displayed programmed speed flashes.
If it is exceeded for a prolonged period of time,
an audible warning ends up being triggered.
Simply release the accelerator pedal to return
to the programmed speed. When the limit speed is exceeded but this is not
due to action by the driver (in case of a steep
slope for example), an audible signal triggers
immediately.
When the programmed speed remains
below the vehicle's speed for a prolonged
period of time, an audible warning will sound.
Switching off
F Turn the thumbwheel 1 to the "
OFF"
position: the display of information on the
speed limiter disappears.
Once the speed of the vehicle returns to
the programmed setting, the speed limiter
functions again: the display of the programmed
speed setting becomes steady again.

Programmable cruise
control
System which automatically
maintains the cruising speed of the
vehicle at a setting programmed by
the driver, without any action on the
accelerator pedal. The cruise control remains active after
changing gear, regardless of the gearbox
type, on vehicles fitted with Stop & Start.
The operation of the cruise control can be
temporarily interrupted (pause):
-

y pressing control 4 or by pressing the
brake pedal,
-
a
utomatically, if operation of the dynamic
stability control system is triggered.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed setting.
The cruise control system is a driving aid
that cannot, in any circumstances, replace
the need to obser ve speed limits, nor the
need for vigilance on the part of the driver.
As a safety measure, you are advised to
keep your feet near the pedals at all times.
With a manual gearbox, it requires the
engagement of third gear or higher.
With an automatic gearbox, it requires the
engagement of the selector in mode D or of
second gear or higher in mode M
.
Steering mounted control

2. Use the current speed as the speed
setting/Lower the speed setting.

Display of speed thresholds in the memory
with the programmable cruise control

Use the speed suggested by the Speed
Limit recognition and recommendation.
Malfunction
Flashing dashes indicate a fault with the speed
limiter.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
The cruise control is switched on manually.
It requires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph
(40


km/h).

Temporarily exceeding the
programmed speed
If needed (for overtaking, etc.) it is possible to
exceed the programmed speed by pressing the
accelerator pedal.When descending a steep hill, the cruise
control system cannot prevent the vehicle
from exceeding the programmed speed.
You may have to brake to control the
speed of your vehicle. In this case, the
cruise control is automatically paused.
To activate the system again, with the
speed of the vehicle above 25 mph
(40
km/h), press button 4.
Switching off
F Turn the thumbwheel 1 to the " OFF”
position: the cruise control information
disappears from the screen.
Malfunction
The cruise control is temporarily overridden
and the programmed speed setting flashes.
To return to the programmed speed, simply
release the accelerator pedal.
Once the vehicle has returned to the
programmed speed, the cruise control takes
over again: the display of the programmed
speed setting becomes steady again.
Flashing dashes indicate a fault with the cruise
control system.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop. Use the cruise control only where the
driving conditions allow driving, for a
period of time, at a constant speed and at
an adequate safe distance.
Do not activate the cruise control in urban
areas, in heavy traffic, on winding or steep
roads, on slippery or flooded roads, or in
conditions of poor visibility (heavy rain,
fog, falling snow, etc.).
In some circumstances, it may not be
possible to maintain or reach the cruise
speed set: towing, vehicle heavily loaded,
steep climb.
The use of mats not approved by
PEUGEOT may inter fere with the
operation of the cruise control.
