The 360° Camera will not function or will only
partially function in thefo llowing situations:
R The doors are open.
R The side mir rors are folded in.
R The trunk lid is open.
R There is heavy rain, snow or fog.
R The ambient light conditions are poor, e.g. at
night.
R The camera lens is obstructed, dirty or fog‐
ge d up.
R If cameras or vehicle components in which
th e cameras are ins talled are damaged. In th
is eve nt, ha vethe cameras, their positions
and their setting checked at a qualified spe‐
cialist workshop.
Do not use the 360° Camera under such circum‐
st ances. You could otherwise injure others or
collide with objects when parking or maneuver‐
ing theve hicle.
On vehicles with height-adjus table suspension or
if th eve hicle is car rying a heavy load, leaving the
st andard height can result in inaccuracies in the
guide lines and in the display of thege nerated
ima ges, depending on tech nical conditions.
The field of vision and other functions of the
came rasystem may be restricted due toaddi‐
tional attachments on theve hicle (e.g. license
plate brac ket, bicycle rack ).

Traf fic Sign Assi stalso uses the data
st ored in the navigation sy stem, it can update
th e display in thefo llowing situations without
de tecting traf fic signs:
R When theve hicle changes roads, e.g. a free‐
wa y entry or exitro ad. R
When a village or city boundary which is
stored in the digital map is passed.
The camera also de tects traf fic signs wi th a
re striction indicated byan additional sign (e.g. in
we t conditions).
Tr af fic Sign Assi stis only an aid. The driver is
re sponsible forke eping a safe dis tance tothe
ve hicle in front, forve hicle speed and for braking
in good time. The maximum permissible speed
also depends on factors su chasthero ad sur‐
fa ce and traf fic conditions.
Wa rning when the maximum permissible
speed is exceeded
The sy stem can warnyou if you unin tentional ly
exc eed the maximum permissible speed. Todo
th is, you can specify in the multimedia sy stem
by how much the maximum permissible speed
can be exceeded before a warning is issued. Yo u
can specify whe ther thewa rning is tobe just a
visual warning or an acoustic one as well.

The sy stem may be impaired or may not function
in thefo llowing situations:
R Ifth ere is poor visibility, e.g. due toinsuf fi‐
cient illumination of thero ad, if there are
highly variable shade conditions or in rain,
sno w,fog or heavy spr ay.
R Ifth ere is glare, e.g. from oncoming traf fic,
di re ct sunlight or reflections.
R Ifth e windshield in the area of the multifunc‐
tion camera is dirty, or if the camera is fog‐
ge d up, damaged or co vered.
R Ifth e tra ffic signs are hard todetect, e.g. due
to dirt or sno w,or because they are co vered
or due toinsuf ficient lighting.
R Ifth e information in the navigation sy stem's
digital map is incor rect or out-of-da te.
R Ifth e signs are ambiguous, e.g. traf fic signs
on construction sites or in adjacent lanes.
R Ifyo u turn sharply when traf fic signs are out‐
side the camera's field of vision. 19 8

of Night View Assist
Night View Assi stcan de tect pedestrians using
typical characteristics, e.g. the body conto urs

Lar geanimals, e.g. deer, co wsor horses, can
also be de tected. Smaller animals, e.g. dogs or
cats, are not de tected.
