nction of ATTENTION ASSI ST
AT TENTION ASSIST assists you on long, mon oto‐
nous journe ys, e.g. on mo torw ays and trunk
ro ads. If ATTENTION ASSIST de tects indicators
of fatigue or increasing lapses in concentration
on the part of the driver, it suggests taking a
brea k.
AT TENTION ASSIST is only an aid. It cannot
alw ays de tect fatigue or lapses in concentration
in time. The sy stem is not a substitute for a well- re
sted and attentive driver. On long journe ys,
ta ke regular breaks in good time that allow for
adequate recuperation.
Yo u can choose between two settings:
R Standard: normal sy stem sensitivity.
R Sensitive: higher system sensitivity. The
driver is warned earlier and the attention
le ve l de tected byATTENTION ASSIST is adap‐
te d according ly.
If dr owsiness or increasing lapses in concentra‐
tion are de tected, theATTENTION ASSIST: Take
a break! warning appears in the Instrument Dis‐
pla y.Yo u can ackn owledge the message and
tak e a break where necessar y.Ifyo u do not take
a break and ATTENTION ASSIST continues to
de tect increasing lapses in concentration, you

Ensure there is suf ficient ground clear‐
ance between the underbody and the
guide rails of the car wash. #
Ensure that the clearance width of the
car wash, in particular the width of the
guide rails, is suf ficient. To
avo id damage to yourvehicle when using a
car wash, ensure thefo llowing beforehand:
R Active Dis tance Assi stDISTRONIC and the
HOLD function are deactivated.
R the 360° Camera or there ve rsing camera is
switched off.
R the side windo wsand sliding sun roof are
comple tely closed.
R the blo werfo rth eve ntilation/heating is

Au tomatic car wash mode
In car wash mode, theve hicle is prepared for
driving into the automatic car wash. Car wash
mode can be activated up toa speed of
20 km/h.
The following settings are made when car wash
mode is activated:
R the outside mir rors are folded down.
R thera in sensor is deactivated topreve ntthe
windscreen washer sy stem from starting up
automaticall y.
R there ar wind owwiper is deactivated.
R the windo wsand the sliding sunroof are
closed.
R the air conditioning sy stem is set toair-recir‐

th erisk of skidding or hydroplaning on wet
ro ads is inc reased.
In addition, the tyre grip is greatly reduced at
a low outside temp erature and tyre running

and adapt your
driving style accordingly. #
Use M+S tyres at outside temp eratures
of less than 50 °F. Obse
rveth efo llowing when selecting, fitting and
re placing tyres:
R Countr y-specific requirements for tyre
appro valth at define a specific tyre type for
yo ur vehicle.
Fu rthermore, the use of cer tain tyre types in
cer tain regions and areas of operation can
be highly beneficial.
R Only use tyres and wheels of the same type
(summer tyres, winter tyres, MOEx tended
tyres) and the same make.
R Only fit wheels of the same size on one axle
(left and right).
It is only permissible tofit a di fferent wheel
size in theeve nt of a flat tyre in order to
drive tothe specialist workshop.
R Only fit tyres of the cor rect size onto the
wheels.
R Do not make any modifications tothe brake
sy stem, the wheels or the tyres.
The use of shims or brake dust shields is not
permitted and may in validate theve hicle's

Vehicles with a tyre pressure monitoring
sy stem: allfitted wheels mu stbe equipped

R Attemp eratures below 7 °C, use winter tyres
