—Alwaysplacethefuelcontaineronthe
groundbeforefilling.Neverfillthefuel
containerwithfuelwhileitisinsideoron
thevehicle.Electrostaticdischargecanoc-
curwhilerefuelingandthefuelvapors
couldignite.
—Whenusingfuelcontainersmadeofmet-
al,thefuelpumpnozzlemustalwaysre-
mainincontactwiththecontainertore-
ducetheriskofstaticcharge.
—Insertthefuelpumpnozzleasfaraspos-
sibleintothefilleropeningwhilerefuel-
ing.
—Followtheapplicablelegalregulationsin
thecountrywhereyouaredrivingwhen
using,storingandtransportingfuelcon-
tainers.
—Makesurethatthefuelcontainermeets
theindustrystandards,forexampleANSI
orASTMF852-86.
