6189-1. Specifications
■Traction AA, A, B, C
The traction grades, from highest to lowest, are AA, A, B and C,
and they represent the tire’s ability to stop on wet pavement a s
measured under controlled conditions on specified government te st
surfaces of asphalt and concrete.
A tire marked C may have p oor traction performance.
Warning: The traction grade assigned to this tire is based on b raking
(straight ahead) traction tests and does not include cornering (turn-
ing) traction.
■Temperature A, B, C
The temperature grades are A ( the highest), B, and C, representing
the tire’s resistance to the ge neration of heat and its ability to dissi-
pate heat when tested under contr olled conditions on a specified
indoor laboratory test wheel.
Sustained high temperature can c ause the material of the tire to
degenerate and reduce tire life, and excessive temperature can lead
to sudden tire failure.
Grade C corresponds to a level of performance which all passeng er
car tires must meet under the Fe deral Motor Vehicle Safety Stan-
dard No. 109.
Grades B and A represent higher levels of performance on the labo-
ratory test wheel than the minimum required by law.
Warning: The temperature grades of a tire assume that it is pro perly
inflated and not overloaded.
Excessive speed, underinflation, or excessive loading, either sepa-
rately or in combination, can c ause heat buildup and possible t ire
failure.

●When the speed-detecting automatic door lock function and shift position
linked door locking function (shifting gears to a position other than P locks
all doors) are both on, the door lock operates as follows.
• When shifting the shift lever to any position other than P, al l the doors will
be locked.
• If the vehicle is started with all the doors locked, the speed-detecting auto- matic door lock function would not operate.
• If the vehicle is started with any the door unlocked, the spee d-detecting
automatic door lock function will operate.
● When the doors remain closed after unlocking the doors and the automatic
door lock function (Time elapsed before the automatic door lock function is
activated if a door is not opened after being unlocked) activates, the signals
will be generated in accordance with operation signal (buzzers) and the
operation signal (emergency flashers) settings.

■During customization
As the engine needs to be running during customization, ensure that the
vehicle is parked in a place with adequate ventilation. In a closed area such
as a garage, exhaust gases including harmful carbon monoxide (CO) may
collect and enter the vehicle. This may lead to death or seriou s health haz-
ard.
NOTICE
■ During customization
To prevent battery discharge, ensure that the engine is running while cus-
tomizing features.

For owners
When the truck is used to carry a slide-in camper, the total cargo load
of the truck consists of the manu facturer’s camper weight figure, the
weight of installed additional ca mper equipment not included in the
manufacturer’s camper weight figure, the weight of camper cargo , and
the weight of passengers in the camper. The total cargo load sh ould
not exceed the truck’s cargo weight rating and the camper’s cen ter of
gravity should fall within the truck’s recommended center of gr avity
zone when installed.

WARNING
■Loading precaution
If a load is too far back, it can cause dangerous handling. If it is too far for-
ward, the front axle may be overloaded.

For owners
Secure loose items to prevent weight shifts that could affect the bal-
ance of your vehicle. When the truck camper is loaded, drive to a
scale and weigh on the front and on the rear wheels separately to
determine axle loads. Individual axle loads should not exceed e ither
of the Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR). The total of the axle loads
should not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). These
ratings are given on the vehicle certification label which is located on
the door latch post on the le ft side of the vehicle. (P. 600) If weight
ratings are exceeded, move or remove items to bring all weights
below the ratings.

■ Overloading
Be careful — overloading can cause dangerous braking and handli ng prob-
lems, and can damage your vehicle and its tires.

●It is locked to prevent theft of the vehicle if the key is removed from the
engine switch. ( P. 196)
●Is the window lock switch pressed?
The power window except for the one at the driver’s seat cannot be oper-
ated if the window lock switch is pressed. ( P. 147)

Are the driver and the front passenger wearing the seat belts? (P. 548)
●The parking brake indicator is on
Is the parking brake released? ( P. 205)
Depending on the situation, other types of warning buzzer may also sound.
( P. 547, 555)
●Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door during setting the al arm?
The sensor detects it and the alarm sounds. ( P. 85)
To stop the alarm, turn the engine switch to the “ACC” or “ON” position, or
start the engine.
●When a warning light turns on or a warning message is displayed , refer to
P. 547, 555.
