MOExtended tires (tires with run-flat
properties)
General notes With MOExtended tires (tires with run flat char-
acteristics), you can continue to drive you rv ehi-
cle even if there is at otal loss of pressure in one
or more tires. The affected tire must not show
any clearly visible damage.
You can recognize aM OExtended tire by the
MOExtended marking which appears on the
sidewal loft he tire. You wil lf ind this marking
next to the tire size designation, the load-bear-
ing capacity and the spee di ndex ( Y
pag e2 75).
MOExtended tires may only be use dinc onjunc-
tion with an active tire pressure loss warning
system or with an active tire pressure monitor.

The driving distance possible in run-fla tm ode is
approximately 50 mile s( 80 km) when the vehi-
cle is partiall yl aden and approximately 19 miles
(30 km) when the vehicl eisf ull yl aden.
In addition to the vehicl el oad, the driving dis-
tance possible depends upon: R

outside temperature
The driving distance possible in run-fla tm ode
may be reduced by extreme driving conditions
or maneuvers, or it can be increased through a
moderate style of driving.
The driving distance possible in run-fla tm ode is
counted from the moment the tire pressure loss
warning appears in the multifunction display.
You must not exceed am aximu md esign speed
of 50 mph (80 km/h).
When replacing one or all tires, please observe
the following specifications for you rv ehicle's
tires: R

type and R
the "MOExtended "m ark
If at ire has gone flat and cannot be replaced
with aM OExtended tire, as tandard tire may be
use dasat emporary mea su re. Make sure that you use the prope rs ize and type (summer or
winter tire).
Vehicles equipped with MOExtended tires are
not equipped with aT IREFIT kit at the factory. It
is therefore recommende dt hat you additionally
equip you rv ehicl ew ith aT IREFIT kit if you mount
tires that do not feature run-fla tc haracteristics,
e.g. winter tires. AT IREFIT kit can be obtained
from aq ualified specialist workshop, for exam-
ple.
Important safety notes
G WARNING
When driving in emergency mode, the driving
characteristics deteriorate, e.g. when corner-
ing, accelerating quickly and when braking.
There is ar isk of an accident.
Do not exceed the stated maximu ms peed.
Avoid abrupt steering and driving maneuvers,
and driving over obstacles (curbs, potholes,

Stop driving in emergency mode if: R

there are tears in the sidewalls of the tire.
After driving in emergency mode, have the
whee lr ims checked at aq ualified specialist
worksho pw ith regard to their further use .T he
defective tire must be replaced in every case.
TIREFIT kit
Important safety notes TIREFIT is at ire sealant.
You can use TIREFIT to seal puncture sofupt o
0.16 in (4 mm) ,p articularly those in the tire
tread. You can use TIREFIT at outside tempera-

G WARNING
In the following situations, the tire sealant is
unable to provid es ufficient breakdown assis-
tance, as it is unable to seal the tire properly: R
there are cuts or puncture sint he tire larger
than those mentioned above. R
the whee lr im is damaged.R
you have drive natv ery low tire pressures or
on af lat tire.
There is ar isk of an accident.
Do not drive the vehicle. Contact aq ualified
specialist workshop.
G WARNING
The tire sealant is harmfu la nd causes irrita-
tion. It must not come into contact with your
skin, eye sorc lothing or be swallowed .Don ot
inhal eT IREFIT fumes .K eep tire sealant away
from children. There is ar isk of injury.
If you come into contact with the tire sealant,
observe the following: R
Rinse off the tire sealant from you rs kin
immediatel yw ith water.R
If the tire sealant comes into contact with
you re yes, immediatel yr inse them thor-
oughly with clea nw ater.R
If tire sealant is swallowed ,i mmediately
rinse you rm outh out thoroughly and drink
plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting,
and seek medical attention immediately. R
Immediately change out of clothing which
has come into contact with tire sealant. R
If an allergic reactio no ccurs, seek medical
attention immediately.
! Do not operate the tire inflation compressor
for longer than eigh tm inutes at at ime without
ab reak. It may otherwise overheat.
The tire inflation compressor can be operated
again once it has coole dd own.
Comply with the manufacturer’s safety instruc-
tions on the sticker on the tire inflation com-
pressor. Using the TIREFIT kit X
Do not remove any foreig no bjects which have
penetrated the tire, e.g. screws or nails. X
Remove the tire sealant bottle, the accompa-
nying TIREFIT sticker and the tire inflation
compressor from the stowage wel lu nder-
neath the trunk floor ( Y

Affix part C of the TIREFIT sticker to the
instrument cluster withi nt he driver's fiel do f
