HEAD UP DISPLAY (IF EQUIPPED)
Head Up Display (HUD)
This is a visual system that shows informationin your field of view as you drive. Theinformation comes from various vehiclesystems and includes vehicle speed, speedlimit, navigation, and advanced driverassistance systems (ADAS), such as adaptivecruise control (ACC) and the lane keepingsystem. This system projects the informationoff the windshield, and focuses the image
near the end of the hood approximately 7 ft(2 m) in front of the driver. Viewing thisinformation does not require you tosignificantly move your head, allowing youto keep your eyes on the road while havingquick and easy access to information.

Displays direction indicators, blind spotinformation (if direction indicators are active)and cross traffic alert.

Displays navigation next turn instructions.
Status Bar
Displays distance to empty (DTE), time andoutside air temperature. Next to DTE, thefuel gauge fill color changes to yellow in lowfuel conditions. You can switch off the statusbar in the HUD settings menu.
Speedometer Display Area
Displays current vehicle speed, speed limit(if available in the map database) and yourtransmission gear selection.
Configuring The Head Up Display
You can control the system's options throughthe information display by using the HUD,OK and arrow buttons on the right-hand sideof your steering wheel. See GeneralInformation (page 119). You can adjust thedisplay according to your height to makeviewing the content easier. You can alsoadjust what content displays and thebrightness of the content. The system'soptions appear in the instrument clusterwhile the updates happen in the HUD.
Note:If HUD On is unchecked, other optionsof the system are hidden.
Note:The HUD menu automatically closesafter a certain period of inactivity.
Note:The HUD image brightnessautomatically adjusts to the brightness ofthe ambient environment. You have theability to adjust the brightness furtheraccording to your preference.
Note:In some instances, sunlight can causesome reflections in and around the HUDimage.

Information Displays

You can save up to three preset memorypositions. You can save a memory preset atany time.
Recalling a PreSet Position
Press and release the preset buttonassociated with your desired driving position.The memory features move to the positionstored for that preset.
Note:You can only recall a driver seat presetmemory position when the ignition is off, orwhen the transmission is in park (P) orneutral (N) (and your vehicle is not moving)if the ignition is on.
You can also recall a preset memory positionby:
•Pressing the unlock button on yourintelligent access key fob if it is linked toa preset position.
•Unlocking the intelligent driver doorhandle if a linked key fob is present.
•Recalling a personal profile in your SYNC3 menu.
Note:Using a linked keyfob to recall yourmemory position when the ignition is offmoves the seat to the Easy Entry position.
Note:Pressing any active memory featureadjustment control (or any memory button)during a memory recall cancels theoperation.
Easy Entry and Exit Feature
If you enable the easy entry and exit feature,it automatically moves the driver seatposition rearward up to 2 in (5 cm) when youswitch the ignition off.
The driver seat returns to its previousposition when you switch the ignition on.
You can switch this feature on or off in theinformation display. See InformationDisplays (page 119).
Passenger Seat Memory
This feature automatically recalls the positionof the passenger seat. The memory controlis on the passenger door.
Saving a PreSet Position
1. Adjust the passenger seat to yourdesired position.
2.Press and hold the desired preset buttonuntil you hear a single tone.
You can save up to three preset memorypositions. You can save a memory preset atany time.
Recalling a PreSet Position
Press and release the preset buttonassociated with your desired position. Thepassenger seat features move to the positionstored for that preset. You can recall apassenger seat preset memory at any time.

WARNING: Do not place cargo orany objects behind the seat backrestbefore returning it to the original position.Pull on the seat backrest to make sure thatit has fully latched after returning the seatbackrest to its original position. Anunlatched seat may become dangerous ifyou stop suddenly or have a crash.
The release handle is on the upper right seatbackrest. Pull the handle to release thefolding seat latch.
To return the seat to the upright position,rotate the seat backrest until you hear a click,locking it in the upright position.
Note:Use the same release handle torecline the seat backrest.
Adjusting the Second Row Center 20%Seat (If Equipped)
Note:Move this seat forward to keep a childin a child restraint close to the front seatoccupants. Move the seat to the fullrearward position when it is occupied byolder children or adults, including childrenin booster seats.
Lift the handle to move the seat forward orrearward.
Power Folding Rear Seats
Note:Similar to the battery saver feature,the power rear seat functions disable 10minutes after you switch the ignition off. Thetransmission must be in park (P) and theliftgate, or liftgate glass must be open inorder to operate the seats.
Note:Be sure the third-row center headrestraint is in the lowered position beforeyou power the rear seats down. Thethird-row outermost head restraints foldwhen you press the fold button.
The control buttons are on the left-hand rearquarter trim panel (accessible from theliftgate area).

HomeLink Wireless Control System
WARNING: Make sure that thegarage door and security device are freefrom obstruction when you areprogramming. Do not program the systemwith the vehicle in the garage.
WARNING: Do not use the systemwith any garage door opener that does nothave the safety stop and reverse featureas required by U.S. Federal SafetyStandards (this includes any garage dooropener manufactured before April 1, 1982).A garage door opener which cannot detectan object, signaling the door to stop andreverse, does not meet current federalsafety standards. Using a garage dooropener without these features increasesthe risk of serious injury or death.
Note:Make sure you keep the originalremote control transmitter for use in othervehicles as well as for future systemprogramming.
Note:We recommend that upon the sale orlease termination of your vehicle, you erasethe programmed function buttons for securityreasons. See Erasing the Function ButtonCodes later in this section.
Note:You can program a maximum of threedevices. To change or replace any of thethree devices after it has been initiallyprogrammed, you must first erase the currentsettings. See Erasing the Function ButtonCodes.
The universal garage door opener replacesthe common hand-held garage door openerwith a three-button transmitter integratedinto the driver’s sun visor.
The system includes two primary features, agarage door opener and a platform forremote activation of devices within the home.You can program garage doors as well asentry gate operators, security systems, entrydoor locks and home or office lighting.

In-Vehicle Programming
This process is to program your in-vehicleHomeLink function button with yourhand-held transmitter.
Note:The programming steps below assumeyou will be programming HomeLink that wasnot previously programmed. If yourHomeLink was previously programmed, youmay need to erase your HomeLink buttons.See Erasing the Function Button Codes.
Note:Put a new battery in the hand-heldtransmitter. This helps ensure quickertraining and accurate transmission of theradio-frequency signal.

3. Press and hold the function button youwant to program for 2 seconds, thenrelease. Repeat this step. Depending onyour brand of garage door opener, youmay need to repeat this sequence a thirdtime.
Gate Operator / Canadian Programming
Canadian radio-frequency laws requiretransmitter signals to “time-out” (or quit) afterseveral seconds of transmission – which maynot be long enough for HomeLink to pick upthe signal during programming. Similar tothis Canadian law, some U.S. gate operatorsare designed to “time-out” in the samemanner.
Note:If programming a garage door openeror gate operator, it is advised to unplug thedevice during the “cycling” process toprevent possible overheating.
1. Press and release, every two seconds,your hand-held transmitter until theHomeLink indicator light changes to arapidly blinking or continuously on light.
2.Release the hand-held transmitter button.
3. Continue programing HomeLink. SeeIn-Vehicle Programming, Step 4.
Erasing the Function Button Codes
Note:You cannot erase individual buttons.
1. Press and hold the outer two functionbuttons simultaneously for approximately10 seconds until the indicator light abovethe buttons flashes rapidly.
2.When the indicator light flashes, releasethe buttons. You erased the codes for allbuttons.
Reprogramming a Single Button
To program a device to a previously trainedbutton, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the desired button. DoNOT release the button.

Press the push button ignition switch oncewithout your foot on the brake pedal. It is onthe instrument panel near the steering wheel.All electrical circuits and accessories areoperational and the warning lamps andindicators illuminate.
Press the push button ignition switch againwithout your foot on the brake pedal toswitch the ignition off.
STARTING A GASOLINE ENGINE
When you start the engine, the idle speedincreases.
This helps to warm up the engine. If theengine idle speed does not slow downautomatically, have your vehicle checked byan authorized dealer.
Note: You can crank the engine for a totalof 60 seconds without the engine startingbefore the starting system temporarilydisables. The 60 seconds does not have tobe all at once. For example, if you crank theengine three times for 20 seconds each time,without the engine starting, you reached the60-second time limit. You cannot attemptto start the engine for at least 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you are limited to a15-second engine cranking time. You needto wait 60 minutes before you can crank theengine for 60 seconds again.
Before starting your vehicle, check thefollowing:
•Make sure all occupants have fastenedtheir seatbelts.
•Make sure the headlamps and electricalaccessories are off.
•Make sure the parking brake is on.
•Make sure the transmission is in park (P).
Note:Do not touch the accelerator pedal.
Note:You must have your intelligent accesskey in your vehicle to shift the transmissionout of park (P).
1. Fully depress the brake pedal.
2. Press the push button ignition switch.
The system does not function if:
•The passive key frequencies are jammed.
•The key battery has no charge.
If you are unable to start your vehicle, do thefollowing:
