For safety and security
Extend the shoulder belt so that it
comes fully over the shoulder, but
does not come into contact with the
neck or slide off the shoulder.
 Position the lap belt as low as possi-
ble over the hips.
 Adjust the position of the seatback.
Sit up straight and well back in the
seat.
WARNING
■Pregnant women
Obtain medical advice and wear the seat
belt in the proper way. ( P.31)
Women who are pregnant should posi-
tion the lap belt as low as possible over the hips in the same manner as other occupants, extending the shoulder belt
completely over the shoulder and avoid- ing belt contact with the rounding of the abdominal area.
If the seat belt is not worn properly, not only the pregnant woman, but also the
fetus could suffer death or serious injury as a result of sudden braking or a colli-sion.

Obtain medical advice and wear the seat
belt in the proper way. ( P.31)

■Seat belt damage and wear
●Do not damage the seat belts by allow- ing the belt, plate, or buckle to be
jammed in the door.
●Inspect the seat belt system periodi- cally. Check for cuts, fraying, and loose
parts. Do not use a damaged seat belt until it is replaced. Damaged seat belts cannot protect an occupant from
death or serious injury.
●Ensure that the belt and plate are locked and the belt is not twisted.If the seat belt does not function cor-
rectly, immediately contact any autho- rized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer.
●Replace the seat assembly, including the belts, if your vehicle has been involved in a serious accident, even if
there is no obvious damage.
●Do not attempt to install, remove, modify, disassemble or dispose of the seat belts. Have an y necessary repairs
carried out by any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer. Inappropriate
handling may lead to incorrect opera- tion.

Turn the engine switch
off, have all the passengers exit the
vehicle and ensure that both side doors
are closed.
Press twice within 5 seconds.
■Canceling
Using the entry function: Push the
edge of the door handle to unlock the
doors.
Using the wireless remote control:
Press .
NOTICE
■To ensure the system operates cor- rectly
Do not modify or remove the system. If modified or removed, the proper opera-tion of the system cannot be guaranteed.
Double locking system
Unauthorized access to the vehicle
is prevented by disabling the door
unlocking function from both the
interior and exterior of the vehicle.
Vehicles employing this system
have labels on the side windows.

■Items to check before locking the
vehicle
To prevent unexpected triggering of
the alarm and vehicle theft, make sure
of the following:
 Nobody is in the vehicle.
 The windows are closed before the
alarm is set.
 No valuables or other personal
items are left in the vehicle.
WARNING
■Double locking system precaution
Never activate the do uble locking sys-
tem when there are people in the vehicle because both side doors cannot be opened from inside the vehicle.
Alarm*
The alarm uses light and sound to
give an alert when an intrusion is
detected.
The alarm is triggered in the follow-
ing situations when the alarm is set:
 A locked door or trunk is
unlocked or opened in any way
other than using the entry func-
tion or wireless remote control.
(The door will lock again auto-
matically.)
 The hood is opened.
 The intrusion sensor detects
something moving inside the
vehicle. (Example: an intruder
breaks a window and gets into the
vehicle.)
 The tilt sensor detects a change of
vehicle inclination.

For safety and security
■Setting
Close the doors, trunk and hood, and
lock both side doors using the entry
function or wireless remote control.
The system will be set automatically
after 30 seconds.
The indicator light changes from being on
to flashing when the system is set.
■Canceling or stopping
Do one of the following to deactivate
or stop the alarm:
 Unlock the doors or open the trunk
using the entry function or wireless
remote control.
 Start the engine .
(The alarm will be deactivated or
stopped after a few seconds.)
■System maintenance
The vehicle has a maintenance-free type alarm system.
■Triggering of the alarm
The alarm may be triggered in the following situations:(Stopping the alarm deactivates the alarm
system.)
●The doors are unlocked using the
mechanical key.
●A person inside the vehicle opens a door, the trunk or hood, or unlocks the vehicle using a door lock switch.
●The 12-volt battery is recharged or replaced when the vehicle is locked.

■Alarm-operated door lock
In the following cases, depending on the sit-
uation, the door may automatically lock to prevent improper entry into the vehicle:
●When a person remain ing in the vehicle unlocks the door and the alarm is acti-vated.
●While the alarm is activated, a person remaining in the vehicle unlocks the door.
●When recharging or replacing the 12-volt battery
