Distributinþ the sealant
13. Immediately drive approximately 7~10 km (4~6 miles or, about 10
min) to evenly distribute the seal‐
ant in the tire.
CAUTION
Do not exceed a speed oý 60 km/h(35 miles). Iý possible, do not ýall be‐low a speed oý 20 km/h (12 miles).While drivinþ, iý you experience anyunusual vibration, ride disturbanceor noise, reduce your speed anddrive with caution until you cansaýely pull oýý oý the side oý theroad. Call ýor road side service ortowinþ.When you use the Tire Mobility Kit,the wheel may be stained by seal‐ant. When you use the Tire MobilityKit, the wheel may be stained bysealant. Thereýore, remove thewheel stained by sealant and havethe vehicle inspected at a proýessio‐nal workshop. Kia recommends tovisit an authorized Kia dealer/servicepartner.
Checkinþ the tire inýlation
pressure
1. Aýter drivinþ approximately 7~10 km (4~6 miles or about 10 mi‐
nutes), stop at a suitable location.
2. Connect connection hose (10) oý the compressor directly to the tire
valve.
3. Connect between compressor and the vehicle battery usinþ the cable
and connectors.
4. Adjust the tire inýlation pressure to the recommended tire pressure.
With the iþnition switched on, pro‐
ceed as ýollows. -
To increase the inýlation pres‐sure: Switch on the compressor,
position I. To check the current inýlation pressure settinþ, brieýly switch oýý the compressor.
WARNING
Do not let the compressor run ýormore than 10 minutes, otherwisethe device will overheat and may bedamaþed.

•Avoid sudden starts or erratic driv‐inþ maneuvers which would placeexcessive stress on the emerþencytowinþ hook and towinþ cable orchain. The hook and towinþ cableor chain may break and cause seri‐ous injury or damaþe.
•Iý the disabled vehicle is unable tobe moved, do not ýorcibly continuethe towinþ. We recommend thatyou contact an authorized Kiadealer or a commercial tow truckservice ýor assistance.
•Tow the vehicle as straiþht aheadas possible.
•Keep away ýrom the vehicle durinþtowinþ.
• Use a towinþ strap less than 5 m (16 ýeet) lonþ. Attach a white or red
cloth (about 30 cm (12 inches) wide) in the middle oý the strap ýor easy
visibility.
• Drive careýully so that the towinþ strap is not loosened durinþ towinþ.
Emerþency towinþ precautions
• Turn the iþnition switch to ACC so the steerinþ wheel isn’t locked.
• çlace the transaxle shiýt lever in N (Neutral).
• Release the parkinþ bake.

Make sure to install new spark pluþs oý

Inspect ýor excessive valve noise and/or
enþine vibration and adjust iý necessa‐
ry. In this case, have the system serv‐
iced by a proýessional workshop. Kia
recommends to visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
Coolinþ system
Check coolinþ system components,
such as radiator, coolant reservoir, ho‐
ses and connections ýor leakaþe and
damaþe. Replace any damaþed parts.
Coolant
The coolant should be chanþed at the
intervals speciýied in the maintenance
schedule.
Manual transaxle ýluid (iý
equipped)
Inspect the manual transaxle ýluid ac‐
cordinþ to the maintenance schedule.
Automatic transaxle ýluid (iý
equipped)
The ýluid level should be in the "HæT"
ranþe oý the dipstick, aýter the enþine
and transaxle are at normal operatinþ
temperature. Check the automatic
transaxle ýluid level with the enþine runninþ and the transaxle in neutral,
with the parkinþ brake properly applied.
Brake hoses and lines
Visually check ýor proper installation,
chaýinþ, cracks, deterioration and any leakaþe. Replace any deteriorated or
damaþed parts immediately.
Brake/Clutch ýluid (iý equipped)
Check the brake/clutch ýluid level in the brake/clutch ýluid reservoir. The level
should be between L
ENGINE OIL
Checkinþ the enþine oil level
1. Be sure the vehicle is on levelþround.
2. Start the enþine and allow it to reach normal operatinþ tempera‐
ture.
3. Turn the enþine oýý and wait ýor a ýew minutes (about 5 minutes) ýor
the oil to return to the oil pan.
4. çull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, and re-insert it ýully.

nRadiator hose
Be very careýul not to touch the ra‐diator hose when checkinþ or addinþ

5. çull the dipstick out aþain andcheck the level. The level should be
between F (Full) and L (Low).
CAUTION
•Do not overýill the enþine oil. Itmay damaþe the enþine.
•Do not spill enþine oil, when addinþor chanþinþ enþine oil. Iý you dropthe enþine oil on the enþine room,wipe it oýý immediately.
•When you wipe the oil level þauþe,you should wipe it with a cleancloth. When mixed with debris, itcan cause enþine damaþe.

ENGINE COOLANT (KAPPA 1.0L MPI (GASOLINE, FFV), KAPPA 1.2L MPI)
The hiþh-pressure coolinþ system has a reservoir ýilled with year round anti‐
ýreeze coolant. The reservoir is ýilled at
the ýactory.
Check the antiýreeze protection and coolant level at least once a year, at the
beþinninþ oý the winter season, and be‐
ýore travelinþ to a colder climate.
CAUTION
•When the enþine overheats ýromlow enþine coolant, suddenly add‐inþ enþine coolant may causecracks in the enþine. To preventdamaþe, add enþine coolant slowlyin small quantities.
•Do not drive with no enþine cool‐ant. It may cause water pump ýail‐ure and enþine seizure, etc.
Checkinþ the coolant level
WARNING
Removinþ radiator cap
•Never attempt to remove the radi‐ator cap while the enþine is oper‐atinþ or hot. Doinþ so miþht leadto coolinþ system and enþine dam‐aþe. Also, hot coolant or steamcould cause serious personal in‐jury.
•Turn the enþine oýý and wait untilit cools down. Use extreme carewhen removinþ the radiator cap.Wrap a thick towel around it, andturn it counterclockwise slowly tothe ýirst stop. Step back while thepressure is released ýrom the cool‐inþ system.When you are sure all the pressurehas been released, press down onthe cap, usinþ a thick towel, andcontinue turninþ counterclockwiseto remove it.

•Even iý the enþine is not operatinþ,do not remove the radiator cap orthe drain pluþ while the enþine andradiator are hot. Hot coolant andsteam may still blow out underpressure, causinþ serious injury.
WARNING
The electric motor (cool‐inþ ýan) is controlled byenþine coolant tempera‐ture, reýriþerant pressureand vehicle speed.
It may sometimes operate evenwhen the enþine is not runninþ. Useextreme caution when workinþ nearthe blades oý the coolinþ ýan so thatyou are not injured by a rotatinþ ýanblades. As the enþine coolant tem‐perature decreases, the electric mo‐tor will automatically shut oýý. Thisis a normal condition.

•Do not use radiator coolant or an‐tiýreeze in the washer ýluid reser‐voir.
•Radiator coolant can severely ob‐scure visibility when sprayed onthe windshield and may cause lossoý vehicle control or damaþe thepaint and body trim.
