DUALOGIC
TRANSMISSION
(for versions/markets, where provided)
45)
The car may be equipped with an
electronically controlled manual
transmission known as "Dualogic"
which allows two operating logics:
MANUAL and AUTO.
GEAR LEVER
The gear lever A fig. 82, located on the
dashboard, is floating multistable type,
i.e. it has three stable positions and
three unstable positions.
The three stable positions correspond
to neutral (N), reverse (R) and the
central position located between the
unstable positions (+) and (-).The unstable positions, in other words
those that are abandoned as soon
as the lever is released, are the
positions for requesting a higher gear
(+), requesting a lower gear (–) and
requesting automatic operating mode
(A/M).
IMPORTANT With the engine started,
any error between the lever position
and the gear actually engaged is
signalled by a buzzer until consistency
is restored.
MANUAL MODE
Proceed as follows:
press the brake pedal and start the
engine;
if AUTO appears on the display,
move the lever A fig. 82 to A/M to
select MANUAL mode;
push gear lever A towards (+) to
engage first gear (if starting from N or
R, simply place the lever in the middle
position) or R to engage reverse;
release the brake pedal and press
the accelerator pedal;
in driving conditions, push lever A of
the gearbox towards (+) to engage
the next gear up or towards (–) to
engage the next gear down.AUTOMATIC MODE (AUTO)
Proceed as follows:
press the brake pedal;
start the engine;
if AUTO is not on the display, move
the shift lever A fig. 82 to A/M to select
AUTOMATIC mode;
push the gear lever towards (+) to
engage 1stgear (if starting from N or R,
simply place the lever in the middle
position) or R to engage reverse;
release the brake pedal and press
the accelerator pedal: the gear most
suited to the vehicle speed will be
engaged.
AUTO-ECO OPERATION
To activate the function, press the ECO
button fig. 83 on the central tunnel.
The ECO function can be only activated
only with automatic mode active.

STARTING AND DRIVING
deactivate the right direction
indicator;
activate the left direction indicator;
deactivate the left direction indicator;
turn the ignition key to STOP and
then to MAR.
LPG versions: in the event of an
impact, petrol supply is immediately
cut-off, the LPG safety valves are
closed and the injection is interrupted,
switching off the engine.
Natural Power versions: in the event
of an impact, the power supply is
immediately cut off, causing engine
switching off.
WARNING
153)If, after an impact, you smell fuel or
notice leaks from the fuel system, do
not reactivate the system to avoid the risk
of fire.
TOWING THE CAR
154) 155) 156) 157) 158)
The tow hook, if is supplied with the
car, is housed in the tool box, under the
mat in the luggage compartment.
ATTACHING THE TOW
HOOK
Manually remove cap A fig. 124 (front
bumper) or A fig. 125 (for versions/
markets, where provided) on the rear
bumper, pressing the lower part, take
the tow hook B from its housing in
the tool box and tighten it completely
on the front or rear threaded pin.Versions with Dualogic
transmission
Make sure that the transmission is in
neutral (N) (checking that the car moves
when pushed) and proceed in the
same way as for towing a normal car
with a manual transmission. If the
gearbox cannot be put in neutral, do
not tow the car and contact a Fiat
Dealership.
Panda Cross 4x4 and Panda 4x4
versions
The car can only be towed in one of the
following ways (and always with the
engine off, gear set to neutral and
handbrake released):
with all the wheels on the road
surface;
with the front (or rear) wheels raised
or resting on an emergency vehicle
and the rear (or front) wheels resting on
a specific trolley;

SCHEDULED
SERVICING
Correct servicing is crucial for
guaranteeing a long life for the car
under the best conditions.
For this reason, Fiat has planned a
series of checks and services at fixed
distance and/or time intervals, as
described in the Service Schedule.
To keep the car’s efficiency in tip-top
condition, in the previous Scheduled
Service plan pages a few additional
checks are listed that should be carried
out more frequently with respect to
the normal coupon redemption
schedule.
Scheduled Servicing is offered by all
Fiat Dealerships according to a set time
schedule. If, during each operation, in
addition to the ones scheduled, the
need arises for further replacements or
repairs, these may be carried out with
the owner's explicit agreement only.
If your car is used frequently for towing,
the interval between one scheduled
servicing operation and the next should
be reduced.IMPORTANT Scheduled Servicing
interventions are set out by the
Manufacturer. Failure to have them
carried out may invalidate the warranty.
It is advisable to inform a Fiat
Dealership of any small operating
irregularities without waiting for the next
service.
PERIODIC CHECKS
Every1,000km or before long
journeys, check and if necessary, top
up: engine coolant level; brake fluid
level; screen washer fluid level; tyre
inflation pressure and condition; lighting
system operation (headlights, direction
indicators, hazard warning lights, etc.);
screen washer/wiper system operation
and positioning/wear of windscreen/
rear window wiper blades.
Every3,000km, check and top up if
required: engine oil level.
For cars with 0.9 TwinAir engines:
every3,000km check the engine oil
level and top it up to the maximum level
if necessary.DEMANDING USE OF THE
CAR
If the car is used under one of the
following conditions: towing a trailer or
motorhome; dusty roads; short (less
than 7-8 km) and repeated journeys
with sub-zero outside temperatures;
engine often idling or driving long
distances at low speed or long periods
of inactivity, the following checks must
be carried out more often than
indicated in the Scheduled Servicing
Plan:
check front disc brake pad condition
and wear;
check the cleanliness of the side,
bonnet and luggage compartment
locks, and the cleanliness and
lubrication of the linkages;
visually inspect conditions of:
engine, gearbox, transmission, pipes
and hoses (exhaust/fuel system/brakes)
and rubber elements (gaiters/sleeves/
bushes, etc.);
check battery charge and battery
fluid level (electrolyte);
visually inspect conditions of the
accessory drive belts;
check and, if necessary, change
engine oil and replace oil filter / pollen
filter / air cleaner.

(3) The actual interval for changing engine oil and replacing the engine oil filter depends on the car usage conditions and is signalled by the warning light or
message in the instrument panel. In any case, it must never exceed 2 years. Where the car is used mostly in urban settings you need to replace the engine oil
filter every year.
(4) If the car runs on fuel with quality below the relevant European specification, this filter should be replaced every 20,000 km.

3)Used engine oil and oil filters contain
substances which are harmful to the
environment. To change the oil and filters,
we advise you to contact a Fiat Dealership.
4)Used transmission fluid contains
substances that are harmful to the
environment. It is advisable to have the oil
changed by a Fiat Dealership where it
will be disposed of respecting the
environment and according to legal
requirements.
5)Batteries contain substances which are
very dangerous for the environment. For
battery replacement, contact a Fiat
Dealership.
