E: internal air recirculation on/off button
F: heated rear window and mirror on/off switch (for versions/markets, where provided)
.
WARNING
2)The air conditioning system uses refrigerant R134a or R1234yf compatible with the current regulations in the countries where the vehicle is
marketed. When charging, only use the gas indicated on the dedicated plate in the engine compartment . The use of other coolants affects
the efficiency and condition of the system. The lubricant used for the compressor is also strictly linked to the type of cooling gas, please refer
to a Fiat Dealership.

INTRODUCTION
The Fiat Doblò Natural Power version
features two fuel supply systems,
one for petrol and one for natural gas
(methane).
Selecting the type of fuel supply
Fiat Doblò Natural Power is configured
to run normally on methane.
When the methane is running out and
the pressure in the cylinder is close
to the correct operating limit, the
system automatically switches to petrol
operation.
The engine always starts up on petrol,
with automatic switching to methane
when the best conditions are achieved
(engine water temperature, minimum
engine rpm limit) for switching to
methane.
Therefore, there must always be some
petrol in the tank (at least 1/4 full), in
order not to compromise the operation
of the fuel pump.
For this reason there must always
be petrol in the tank. The petrol/methane switch fig. 87,
amongst the controls in the dashboard,
makes it possible to select petrol
operation. The system does not switch
automatically to methane operation if
the petrol runs out.
IMPORTANT If gas is smelled, switch
from methane operation to petrol
operation and immediately go to a Fiat
Dealership to have the vehicle checked
and possible system faults excluded.
METHANE CYLINDERS
The vehicle is provided with 4 cylinders
with a capacity of 95 litres; for the
Cargo Maxi version (long wheelbase), a
5
thcylinder is available as an optional,
increasing the capacity to 130 litres. The cylinders are all located under the
floor and protected by special guards.
The cylinders fig. 88, fig. 89 and fig.
90 are the tank that contains methane
in compressed gaseous state (200
rated bar at 15 °C).
Canister capacity:
- Short wheelbase versions: approx.
16.15 kg
- Short wheelbase versions: approx.
22.1 kg.
The amount of methane depends on
the outside temperature, the supply
pressure, the quality of the gas and the
type of refuelling system. Overall
cylinder volume approximately 95 litres
(short wheelbase versions) and 130
litres (long wheelbase versions).

TYPES OF BULBS
Various types of bulbs are fitted to your
vehicle fig. 140:
AGlass bulbs: they are press-fitted.
Pull to extract.
BBayonet type bulbs: to remove from
its holder, press the bulb, turn it
anticlockwise, then remove.
CTubular bulbs: release them from their
contacts to remove.
DHalogen bulbs: to remove the bulb,
release the clip holding the bulb in
place.
EHalogen bulbs: to remove the bulb,
release the clip holding the bulb in
place.
WARNING
116)Modifications or repairs to the electric
system that are not carried out properly
or do not take the system technical
specifications into account can cause
malfunctions leading to the risk of fire.
117)Halogen bulbs contain pressurised
gas; in the case of breakage they may
burst.
WARNING
31)Halogen bulbs must be handled by
holding the metallic part only. If the
transparent bulb is touched with the
fingers, its lighting intensity is reduced and
life of the bulb may be compromised. In
the case of accidental contact, rub the
lamp with a cloth and alcohol and leave to
dry.
32)Where possible, it is advisable to have
bulbs changed at a Fiat Dealership. Proper
operation and direction of the external
lights are essential for driving in safety and
comply with law.

NB Carefully clean the reservoir cap E
and surrounding surfaces.
Take great care to ensure that
impurities do not enter the reservoir
when the cap is opened.
Always use a funnel with a built-in filter
with a mesh of 0.12 mm or less.
IMPORTANT Brake fluid absorbs
moisture. For this reason, if the vehicle
is mainly used in areas with a high
degree of atmospheric humidity, the
fluid should be replaced at more
frequent intervals than specified in the
“Service Schedule”.

POWER STEERING FLUID
Check that the oil level with the vehicle
on flat ground and the engine cold is
between the MIN and MAX marks
on the reservoir body G fig. 190 - fig.
191 - fig. 192 - fig. 193 - fig. 194 - fig.
195 - fig. 196 - fig. 197 - fig. 198.
The level may exceed the MAX mark
when the oil is hot.
If topping up is required, make sure the
oil you use has the same specifications
as that already in the system.

To check the transmission oil level and
to check/change the clutch hydraulic

WARNING
132)Never smoke while working in the
engine compartment: gas and inflammable
vapours may be present, with the risk of
fire.
133)When the engine is hot, take care
when working inside the engine
compartment to avoid burns. Remember
that when the engine is hot, the fan may
operate: danger of injury. Scarves, ties and
other loose clothing might be pulled by
moving parts.
134)The cooling system is pressurised. If
necessary, only replace the plug with
another original or the operation of the
system may be adversely affected. Do not
remove the reservoir plug when the engine
is hot: you risk scalding yourself.135)Do not travel with the windscreen
washer fluid reservoir empty: the
windscreen washer is essential for
improving visibility. Some commercial
windscreen washer additives are
flammable. The engine compartment
contains hot components which may set it
on fire.
136)Brake fluid is poisonous and highly
corrosive. In the event of accidental
contact, immediately wash the affected
parts with water and mild soap. Then rinse
thoroughly. Call a doctor immediately if
swallowed.
137)The symbol
, on the brake fluid
container indicates if a brake fluid is
synthetic or mineralbased. Using
a mineral-type fluid will damage the special
rubber seals of the braking system beyond
repair.
138)Prevent power steering fluid from
coming into contact with hot engine parts:
it is flammable.
WARNING
40)When topping up, take care not to mix
up the various types of fluids: they are
not compatible with each other and could
seriously damage the vehicle.
41)Do not add oil with specifications other
than those of the oil already existing in
the engine.
