WARNING
41)The Fiat Doblò Natural Power version is
equipped with a high pressure methane
system designed to run at a rated pressure
of 200 bar. It is dangerous to stretch the
system with higher pressures. To prevent
damage to the methane system parts
when towing or lifting the vehicle, follow
the instructions in the main handbook
in the chapter: "Towing the vehicle". If
there is a problem with the methane
system, only contact a Fiat Dealership. Do
not alter the methane system configuration
or components. They are designed
exclusively for the Fiat Qubo Natural
Power. The use of other components or
materials could cause malfunctions and
prejudice safety.
42)When oven painting, the cylinders must
be removed from the vehicle and refitted
by a Fiat Dealership. Although the methane
system has numerous safety features, it is
advisable to close the manual tap on the
cylinders every time the vehicle is not
in use for a long period, transported on
other vehicles or moved in an emergency
as a result of a breakdown or accident.
43)If gas is smelt, switch from methane
operation to petrol operation and
immediately go to a Fiat Dealerships to
have the vehicle checked and possible
system faults supply excluded.
WARNING
8)Regardless of the last fuel system used,
at the following engine starting, after the
initial petrol stage, the system will
automatically switch to methane.
9)At the time of the switching request
there will be a metallic noise from the
valves which are pressurising the circuit
(more obvious with the ignition key in
the MAR-ON position). For the switching
logic described above, a delay between the
valve ticking and the switching off of the
instrument panel indication is completely
normal.
10)Do not switch between the two
operating modes whilst starting the engine.

EMERGENCY START-UP
If the instrument panel warning light
stays on steadily, you can perform
an emergency start by using the code
on the CODE card (see the “In an
emergency” section).
22)
SWITCHING OFF THE
ENGINE
Turn the ignition key to STOP while the
engine is idling.
IMPORTANT After a long drive, you
should allow the engine to “catch
its breath” before turning it off by letting
it idle to allow the temperature in the
engine compartment to fall.
WARNING
91)It is dangerous to run the engine in
enclosed areas. The engine consumes
oxygen and engine exhaust contains
carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and
other toxic gasses.
WARNING
18)It is advisable not to demand maximum
performance from your vehicle (e.g.
excessive accelerations, long distances at
top rpm, excessive intense braking, etc.)
as soon as the engine is started.19)When the engine is switched off never
leave the key turned to MAR-ON to prevent
useless current absorption from draining
the battery.
20)If the warning light
flashes for 60
seconds after starting or during an
extended towing period, this indicates an
anomaly in the glow plug preheating
system. Use the vehicle normally if the
engine starts, but contact a Fiat Dealership
as soon as possible.
21)If the engine fails to start with a gear
engaged, the potentially dangerous
situation due to the fact that the gearbox is
automatically placed in neutral will be
signalled by a buzzer.
22)Never bump start the engine by
pushing, towing or coasting downhill. This
could cause fuel to flow into the catalytic
converter and damage it beyond repair.
PARKING THE
VEHICLE
HANDBRAKE
The handbrake lever fig. 122 is located
between the two front seats.
Handbrake engagement:
Pull lever upwards until the vehicle is
secured. The warning light
comes
on with the key at MAR.
Handbrake disengagement:
slightly raise lever A and hold button B
fig. 122 pressed, checking that the
warning light switches off in the
instrument panel

IN AN EMERGENCY
A punctured tyre or a burnt-out bulb?
At times, a problem may interfere
with our journey.
The pages on emergencies can help
you to deal with critical situations
independently and with calm.
In an emergency we recommend that
you call the freephone number found in
the Warranty Booklet.
It is also possible to call the 00 800
3428 0000 freephone number to
search the nearest Fiat Dealership.HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS...........122

EMERGENCY
STARTING
Go to a Fiat Dealership immediately if
warning light
stays on constantly on
the instrument panel.
JUMP STARTING
If the battery is flat, it is possible to start
the engine using an auxiliary battery
with the same capacity or a little higher
than the flat one.
Proceed as follows to start the vehicle
fig. 187:
connect the positive terminals (+
mark near the terminal) of the two
batteries using a suitable lead;
with a second lead, connect the
negative terminal (–) of the auxiliary
battery to an earthing point
on the
engine or the gearbox of the vehicle to
be started;
start the engine;
when the engine has been started,
remove the cables reversing the order
above.
If after a few attempts the engine does
not start, do not persist but contact
the nearest Fiat Dealership.IMPORTANT Do not directly connect
the negative terminals of the two
batteries: any sparks may ignite the
explosive gas which could come out of
the battery. If the auxiliary battery is
installed on another vehicle, avoid any
metal parts on the latter and the vehicle
with the flat battery from accidentally
coming into contact.
38)
127)
BUMP STARTING
Never bump start the engine by
pushing, towing or coasting downhill.
This could cause fuel to flow into the
catalytic converter and damage it
beyond repair.IMPORTANT Remember that the brake
booster and the electric power steering
system are not active until the engine
is started, so you will need to apply
much more force to the brake pedal or
steering wheel.
WARNING
38)Never use a fast battery-charger for
emergency starting of the engine as this
could damage the electronic systems
of your vehicle, particularly the ignition and
fuel supply control units.
WARNING
127)This procedure must be performed by
qualified personnel as incorrect actions
may cause high-intensity electrical
discharge. Furthermore, battery fluid is
poisonous and corrosive: avoid contact
with skin and eyes. Keep naked flames
away from the battery. No smoking. Do not
cause sparks.
