Electronic immobilizer
The immobilizer prevents unauthorized use of
the ve hicle .
Und er certain circumstances, the vehicle may not
be able to sta rt if there is a key from a different
vehicle manufacturer on the key chain.
Data in the master key
When driving, service and ma intenance-relevant
data is cont inuously stored in your remote con
trol key . Your Audi service advisor can read out
th is data and tell you about the work yo ur vehicle
needs. This app lies also to vehicles w ith a con
venience key*.
Personal convenience settings
If two people use one vehicle, it is recommended
that each person always uses "their
own" master
k ey. When the ignition is turned off or when the
vehicle is locked, personal conven ience settings
for the following systems are stored and as
s igned to the remote master key.
- Climate control system
- Ce ntral locking system
- W indows
- Interior lighting*
- Memory function*
- Parking aid*
- Adapt ive cr uise control•
- Active lane assist*
- Side assist*
- Dr ive select
- Night vision assist*
- Steering wheel heating*
T he stored settings are automat ically recalled
when you unlock the vehicle, open the doo rs or
turn on the ignition.

particularly when children remain in the vehi

g ine or operate electrical equipment such as

You can unlock/lock the vehicle at every door .
The remote control key cannot be more than
ap
proximately 4 ft (1.5 m) away from the door han
d le. It ma kes no difference whether the master
key is in your jacket pocket or in your briefcase,
for example.
The door cannot be opened for a br ief period di
rectly after locking it. This way you have the
op
portun ity to check if the doors locked correctly.
The settings in the Infotainment system deter
mine if the entire vehicle or only one of the doors
is unlocked when unlocking the vehicle

If your vehicle is left standing for a long peri
od of time, note the following:
- The proximity sensor switches off after a few days to save energy. You then have to
pull once on the door handle to unlock the
vehicle a nd a second t ime to open it.
- The energy management system gradually
turns off unnecessary convenience functions
to prevent the vehicle battery from draining
and to mainta in the vehicle's ab ility to sta rt
fo r as long as possib le. You may not be able
to unlock yo ur vehicle usi ng the convenie nce
key .

Anti-theft alarm system

If the anti-theft alarm system detects a vehicle
break-in, a udio and v isua l warning signals are
tr iggered . The anti-theft alarm system is sw itch
ed on o r off when loc king/u nlocking yo ur vehicle.
I f the a larm is tr iggered, it w ill shut off automat
ically after a certain amount of time .

- To help prevent poisonous exhaust gas from being drawn into the vehicle, always keep
the luggage compartment lid closed while
driving . Never transport objects larger than
those which fit completely into the luggage
area, because then the luggage compart
ment lid cannot be fully closed .
- Never leave your vehicle unattended espe
cially with the luggage compartment lid left
open . A child could crawl into the car
through the luggage compartment and pull
the lid shut, becoming trapped and unable
to get out. To reduce the risk of personal in
jury, never let children play in or around
your vehicle. Always keep the luggage com
partment lid as well as the vehicle doors
closed when not in use.
- Never close the luggage compartment lid
inattentively or without checking first . Al
though the closing force of the luggage
compartment lid is limited, you can still se
riously injure yourself or others.
-Always ensure that no one is within range of
the luggage compartment lid when it is
moving, in particular close to the hinges and
the upper and lower edges
-fingers or
hands can be pinched.
- Never try to interfere with the luggage com
partment lid or help it when it is being
opened or closed automatically.

The luggage compartment lid can bump into
objects such as the garage ceiling when open
ing and become damaged.

- there is heavy rain
- the bumper is very dirty, for example afte r driv -
ing on salt-covered roads
- the re is interfe rence to the radio signa l from

If you let go of the switch early, the sunroof will

With the garage door opener (Homelink), you
can activa te systems such as the garage doors ,
security systems or house lights from inside your
vehicle. Three buttons a re integrated in the head
liner that can be prog rammed to up to three re
mote controls.
To be able to operate systems using the garage
door opener, the buttons in the headliner must
first be programmed .
A WARNING
When operating or programming the garage
door opener, make sure that no people or ob
jects are in the area immediately s urrounding
the equipment . People can be injured or prop -
erty can be damaged if struck when closing.
