Shift to Park
This warning illuminates when the ignition switch
is in the ACC or OFF position and the shift lever
is not in the P (Park) position. Also, a chime
sounds when the ignition switch is in the ACC or
OFF position.
If this warning illuminates, move the shift lever to
the P (Park) position and start the engine.
Push brake and start switch to drive (if so
equipped)
This indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the P (Park) position.
This indicator means that the engine will start by
pushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal
depressed. You can start the engine from any
position of the ignition switch.
Push clutch and start switch to drive (if so
equipped)
This indicator appears when the shift lever is in
the N (Neutral) position.
This indicator means that the engine will start by
pushing the ignition switch with the clutch and
break pedal depressed. You can start the engine
from any position of the ignition switch.Engine start operation for Intelligent Key
system (if I-Key battery level is low)
This indicator appears when the battery of the
Intelligent Key is low and when the Intelligent Key
system and the vehicle are not communicating
normally.
If this appears, touch the ignition switch with the
Intelligent Key while depressing the brake pedal.

and driving” section of this manual.
Release Parking Brake
This warning illuminates in the message area of
the vehicle information display when the parking
brake is set and the vehicle is driven.
Low Fuel
This warning illuminates when the fuel level in the
fuel tank is getting low. Refuel as soon as it is
convenient, preferably before the fuel gauge
reaches 0 (Empty) .
There will be a small re-
serve of fuel in the tank when the fuel
gauge needle reaches 0 (Empty) .
Loose Fuel Cap
This warning appears when the fuel-filler cap is
not tightened correctly after the vehicle has been
refueled. For additional information, refer to “Fuel-filler cap” in the “Pre-driving checks and
adjustments” section of this manual.
Low Oil Pressure: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears in the message area of the
vehicle information display if low oil pressure is
detected. This gauge is not designed to indicate
low oil level.
The low oil pressure warning is
not designed to indicate a low oil level. Use
the dipstick to check the oil level. For additional
information, refer to “Engine oil” in the “Do-it-
yourself” section of this manual.
Low Washer Fluid
This warning illuminates when the windshield-
washer fluid is at a low level. Add windshield-
washer fluid as necessary. For additional informa-
tion, refer to “Windshield-washer fluid” in the
“Do-it-yourself” section of this manual.
Tire Pressure Low - Add Air
This warning appears when the low tire pressure
warning light in the meter illuminates and low tire
pressure is detected. The warning appears each
time the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position as long as the low tire pressure warning
light remains illuminated. If this warning appears,
stop the vehicle and adjust the tire pressures of
all four tires to the recommended COLD tire
pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Informa-
tion label. For additional information, refer to

Headlight beam select
1To select the high beam function, ensure the
low beams are engaged, and push the lever
forward. The high beam lights come on and
the blue
indicator light illuminates.
2Pull the lever back to return to the low beam.
3Pulling and releasing the lever flashes the
headlight high and low beams on and off.
The low beams need not be engaged for this
function.
Battery saver system
The battery saver system automatically turns off
the ignition after a period of time when the igni-
tion switch is left in the ACC or ON position.
The battery saver system automatically turns off
the following lights after a period of time when the
ignition switch is placed in the OFF position and
the doors are closed:
● Headlights, when the headlight switch is in
the
orposition
● Interior lights, when left in the ON position
CAUTION
Even though the battery saver feature au-
tomatically turns off the headlights after a
period of time, you should turn the head-
light switch to the OFF position when the
engine is not running to avoid discharging
the vehicle battery.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL)
(Type A) (if so equipped)
The headlights automatically illuminate at 100%
intensity (low beam is used for the Daytime Run-
ning Lights (DRL) system) when the engine is
started with the parking brake released. The DRL
operate with the headlight switch in the OFF
position. When the DRL system is active, the clearance lights, tail lights, front side marker
lights, and rear side marker lights are off. To turn
the DRL system off, turn the switch to the
position.
When the headlight switch is placed in the
position for full illumination when driving at night
there will be no difference in the low beam inten-
sity.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the DRL do not illuminate. The DRL illu-
minate once the parking brake is released. The
DRL will remain on until the ignition switch is
placed in the OFF position.
It is necessary at dusk to turn the headlight switch
on for interior controls and switches to illuminate,
as those remain off while the switch is in the OFF
position.

WARNING
When the DRL system is active, tail lights
on your vehicle are not on. It is necessary
at dusk to turn on your headlights. Failure
to do so could cause and accident injuring
yourself and others.
LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS
(DRL) (Type C — NISMO) (if so
equipped)
The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) auto-
matically illuminate at 100% intensity when the
engine is started and the parking brake released.
The LED DRL operate with the headlight switch
in the OFF position. To turn off the LED DRL
system, turn the headlight switch to the
position.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the LED DRL do not illuminate. The LED
DRL illuminate when the parking brake is re-
leased. The LED DRL will remain on until the
ignition switch is placed in the OFF position.
It is necessary at dusk to turn the headlight switch
on for interior controls and switches to illuminate,
as those remain off while the switch is in the OFF
position.
WARNING
When the LED DRL system is active, tail
lights on your vehicle are not on. It is
necessary at dusk to turn on your head-
lights. Failure to do so could cause an
accident injuring yourself and others.

3 seconds and all doors unlock. The Intelligent Key is in the vehicle or trunk. Be sure to carry the Intelligent Key with you.
When pushing the ignition switch to start
the engine The key warning light in the instrument
panel blinks in green. The battery charge is low.
Replace the battery with a new one. For
additional information, refer to “Battery re-
placement” in the “Do-it-yourself” section of
this manual.

ADJUSTING THE SCREEN
The procedure for adjusting the display settings
of the screen differs depending on the type of
screen present on the vehicle.
For vehicles without navigation:1. Firmly apply the brake and place the shift lever in R (Reverse) .
2. Press the ENTER/SETTING button.
3. The screen will display the Brightness set- tings. 4. Turn the TUNE/SCROLL knob to adjust the
setting up or down.
5. Press the ENTER/SETTING button again to display the Contrast settings.
6. Turn the TUNE/SCROLL knob to adjust the setting up or down.
7. Press the ENTER/SETTING button to com- plete the adjustment.
Models with navigation:
1. Firmly apply the brake and place the shift lever in R (Reverse) .
2. Press the
button on the control panel. 3. The screen will display the Night settings.
4. Turn the TUNE knob to adjust the setting up
or down.
5. Press the
button again to access the
Auto settings.
6. Turn the TUNE knob to adjust the setting up or down.
NOTE:
Do not adjust any of the display settings of
the RearView Monitor while the vehicle is
moving. Make sure the parking brake is
firmly applied.
REARVIEW MONITOR SYSTEM
LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations for
RearView Monitor. Failure to operate the
vehicle in accordance with these system
limitations could result in serious injury or
death.
● The system cannot completely elimi-
nate blind spots and may not show ev-
ery object.

“Phonebook Download OFF”F
Use the Phonebook Download OFF command to
turn off the automatic downloading of the hand-
set phonebook to the available (if supported by
the cellular phone) . When the command is rec-
ognized, “Sync Contacts OFF” will appear on the
audio display.
To turn the feature back on, say “Phonebook
Download”. When the command is recognized,
“Sync Contacts ON” will appear on the audio
display.
“Display Settings”

Use the Display Settings command to control
where incoming call notifications are displayed in
the vehicle. Say “Driver Only” to have call notifi-
cations shown on the vehicle information display
only. Say “Both” to have call notifications shown
on both the vehicle information display and the
center audio display.
To turn the feature back on, say “Phonebook
Download”. When the command is recognized,
“Sync Contacts ON” will appear on the audio
display.
VOICE ADAPTATION (VA) MODE
Voice Adaptation (VA) allows up to two out-of-
dialect users to train the system to improve rec-
ognition accuracy. By repeating a number of
commands, the users can create a voice model of
their own voice that is stored in the system. The
system is capable of storing a different Voice
Adaptation model for each connected phone.
Training procedure
The procedure for training a voice is as follows.1. Position the vehicle in a reasonably quiet outdoor location.
2. Sit in the driver’s seat with the engine run- ning, the parking brake on, and the transmis-
sion in P (Park) .
3. Press and hold the
(Type A) or
the
(Type B) button for more than
5 seconds.
4. The system announces: “Press the PHONE/SEND
(Type A) or the(Type B) button for the hands-free phone
system to enter the voice adaptation mode
or press the PHONE/END (
) button to
select a different language.” 5. Press the
(Type A) or the(Type
B) button.
For additional information on selecting a dif-
ferent language, refer to “Choosing a lan-
guage” in this section.
6. Voice memory A or memory B is selected automatically. If both memory locations are
already in use, the system will prompt you to
overwrite one. Follow the instructions pro-
vided by the system.
7. When preparation is complete and you are ready to begin, press the
(Type A) or
the
(Type B) button.
8. The VA mode will be explained. Follow the instructions provided by the system.
9. When training is finished, the system will tell you an adequate number of phrases are
recorded.
10. The system will announce that voice adap- tation has been completed and the system is
ready.
