✽✽NOTICE
When using the air conditioning system, monitor the temperature
gauge closely whilst driving up
hills or in heavy traffic when out-
side temperatures are high. Air
conditioning system operation
may cause engine overheating.
Continue to use the blower fan but
turn the air conditioning system
off if the temperature gauge indi-
cates engine overheating.
When opening the windows in humid weather air conditioning
may create water droplets inside
the vehicle. Since excessive water
droplets may cause damage to
electrical equipment, air condi-
tioning should only be used with
the windows closed.Air conditioning system operation tips
If the vehicle has been parked indirect sunlight during hot weather,
open the windows for a short time
to let the hot air inside the vehicle
escape.
Use air conditioning to reduce humidity and moisture inside the
vehicle on rainy or humid days.
During air conditioning system operation, you may occasionallynotice a slight change in enginespeed as the air conditioning com-
pressor cycles. This is a normal
system operation characteristic.
Use the air conditioning system every month only for a few minutes
to ensure maximum system per-
formance.CAUTION
The refrigerant system should
only be serviced by trainedand certified technicians toinsure proper and safe opera-tion.
The refrigerant system should be serviced in a well-ventilat-ed place.
The air conditioning evapora- tor (cooling coil) shall neverbe repaired or replaced withone removed from a used or salvaged vehicle and newreplacement MAC evaporatorsshall be certified (and labeled) as meeting SAE StandardJ2842.

Use the air conditioning system every month only for a few minutes
to ensure maximum system per-
formance. When using the air conditioning
system, you may notice clear water
dripping (or even puddling) on the
ground under the passenger side
of the vehicle. This is a normal sys-
tem operation characteristic.
Operating the air conditioning sys- tem in the recirculated air position
provides maximum cooling, how-
ever, continual operation in this
mode may cause the air inside the
vehicle to become stale.
During cooling operation, you may occasionally notice a misty air flow
because of rapid cooling and
humid air intake. This is a normal
system operation characteristic. Climate control air filter The climate control air filter installed
behind the glove box filters the dustor other pollutants that come into the
vehicle from the outside through theheating and air conditioning system.
If dust or other pollutants accumulate
in the filter over a period of time, the
air flow from the air vents may
decrease, resulting in moisture accu-
mulation on the inside of the wind-
screen even when the outside (fresh)
air position is selected. If this hap-
pens, we recommend that the cli-
mate control air filter be replaced by
an authorised Kia dealer.

STORAGE COMPARTMENT
WARNING -
Flammable materials
Do not store cigarette lighters,
propane cylinders, or other
flammable/explosive materials
in the vehicle. These items may
catch fire and/or explode if the
vehicle is exposed to hot tem-
peratures for extended periods.
CAUTION

CAUTION
The use of plug-in accessories
(shavers, hand-held vacuums, and coffee pots, etc.) may dam- age the socket or cause electri-cal failure.
WARNING
Holding the lighter in after it is heated will cause it to over- heat.
If the lighter does not pop out within 30 seconds, remove it
to prevent overheating.
Do not insert foreign objects into the socket of the cigarette
lighter. It may damage the cig-
arette lighter.

Cup holder✽✽NOTICE
Keep your drinks sealed whilst driving to prevent spilling your
drink. If liquid spills, it may get
into the vehicle's electrical/elec-
tronic system and damage electri-
cal/electronic parts.
When cleaning spilled liquids, do not dry the cup holder at a high
temperature. This may damage
the cup holder.
WARNING - Hot liquids
Do not place uncovered cups of hot liquid in the cup holder
whilst the vehicle is in motion.
If the hot liquid spills, you may
burn yourself. Such a burn tothe driver could lead to loss of
control of the vehicle.
To reduce the risk of personal injury in the event of sudden
stop or collision, do not place
uncovered or unsecured bot-
tles, glasses, cans, etc., in the
cup holder whilst the vehicleis in motion.
WARNING
Keep cans and bottles out of
direct sunlight. Placing them in
a hot vehicle can cause them to
explode.
WARNING - Ashtray use
Do not use the vehicle’s ash- tray as a waste receptacle.
Putting lit cigarettes or match- es in an ashtray with other
combustible materials may
cause a fire.
CAUTION
When cleaning spilled liquid, do
not dry the cup holder at hightemperatures. This may damage the chrome part of the cup hold-er.

When the operation of the air ventila-
tion is not needed, keep the switchesin the OFF position.
Each time you press the switch, the airflow will change as follows:
When pressing the switch for more than 1.5 seconds with the seat
cooler operating, the seat cooler
will turn OFF.
When the air ventilation seat is turned on, the seat may get cooler
after about 5 minutes.
Because the air ventilation uses the air in the vehicle, cooling effi-
ciency depends on the tempera-
ture of the air. In order to improve
cooling efficiency, use the air con-
ditioning system together.
The air ventilation seat defaults to the OFF position whenever the
ignition switch is turned to the ONposition. Sunvisor
Use the sunvisor to shield direct light
through the front or side windows.
To use a sunvisor, pull it downward.
To use a sunvisor for a side window,
pull it downward, unsnap it from the
bracket (1) and swing it to the side. (2)
Adjust the sunvisor extension forward
or backward (3). (if equipped)
To use the vanity mirror, pull down the
visor and open the mirror cover (4).
To use the vanity mirror lamp, switch
it on. (if equipped)
The ticket holder (5) is provided for
holding a tollgate ticket.CAUTION
- Seat damage
When cleaning the seats, do
not use an organic solventsuch as paint thinner, ben-zene, alcohol and petrol.Doing so may damage the air ventilation seat.
Do not place heavy or sharp objects on the seat. Thosethings may damage the airventilation seat.
Be careful not to spill liquid such as water or beverages onthe seat. If you spill some liquid, wipe the seat with a dry towel. Before using the air ventilation seat, dry the seat completely.
Do not change the seat cover. It may damage the seat warmeror airventilation system.

swing it up to a horizontal position.
CAUTION
Be sure to fold down the table
prior to folding the 2nd rowseat forward.
Do not put heavy stuff on the table (Max load weight 3.5kgf),since it may cause damage tothe table.
WARNING
Whilst the vehicle is in motion,
the tables must not be used. The
tables have to be used whilst
the vehicle is parked.

CAUTION - Vanity mirror
lamp (if equipped)
Always have the switch in the off position when the vanity mir-ror lamp is not in use. If the sun- visor is closed without the lampoff, it may discharge the batteryor damage the sunvisor.
WARNING
