LDW SYSTEM TEMPORARILY
UNAVAILABLE
Under the following conditions, the LDW system
will be canceled automatically, and the mes-
sage [Lane Departure Warning Currently Un-available See Operator’s Manual] is displayed
in the vehicle information display
2. The LDW
system is temporarily unavailable.
•The windshield is dirty in the camera’s field
of vision.
•Visibility is impaired due to heavy rain, snow
or fog.
•There have been no lane markings for an
extended period.
•The lane markings are worn, dark, or covered
by dirt or snow, etc..
Action to take: When the above conditions no
longer exist, the message goes out and the LDW
system is operational again. If the message
continues to appear, stop the vehicle in a safe
location, press the P (Park) button , and clean
the windshield.

BSW SYSTEM OPERATION

AMENU barThe BSW system operates above approximately
20 MPH (30 km/h). When the BSW is activated,
the side indicator light illuminates in yellow up
to a speed of 20 MPH (30 km/h). At speeds
above 20 MPH (30 km/h), the indicator light
goes out and the BSW system is operational. Illustration 1:
If the radar sensors detect a
vehicle in the detection zone, the BSW indicator

BSW SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations for the
BSW system. Failure to operate the vehicle in
accordance with these system limitations
could result in serious injury or death.
•The BSW system cannot detect all vehicles
under all conditions.
•The radar sensors may not be able to detect
and activate BSW when certain objects are
present such as: – Pedestrians, bicycles, or animals.

The following items are controlled in the ICC
system:
•When there are no vehicles traveling ahead,
the ICC system maintains the speed set by
the driver. The set speed range is between
approximately 20 and 125 MPH (30 and 200
km/h).
•When there is a vehicle traveling ahead, the
ICC system adjusts the speed to maintain the
distance, selected by driver, from the vehicle
ahead. The adjusting speed range is up to
the set speed. If the vehicle ahead comes to
a stop, the vehicle decelerates to a standstill
within the limitations of the system. Once
the vehicle is stationary, it remains station-
ary and you do not need to depress the brake
pedal.
•When the vehicle traveling ahead has moved
out from its lane of travel, pull the cruise
control lever or push the accelerator pedal
briefly. The ICC system accelerates and main-
tains vehicle speed up to the set speed.
The ICC system does not control vehicle speed
or warn you when you approach stationary and
slow moving vehicles. You must pay attention to
vehicle operation to maintain proper distance
from vehicles ahead when approaching toll
gates or traffic congestion.

The ICC system is operated by the cruise control
lever, located on the steering column.

Displays in the speedometer
When the ICC system is activated and there are
no vehicles detected ahead, one or two seg-
ments
2in the set speed range light up.
If the ICC system detects a vehicle ahead,
segments
2between speed of the vehicle

NOTE
For design reasons, the speed displayed in the
speedometer may differ slightly from the speed
set for the ICC system.

Approach warning
If your vehicle comes closer to the vehicle
ahead due to rapid deceleration of that vehicle
or if another vehicle cuts in, the system warns
the driver with the chime and distance warning
light. Decelerate by depressing the brake pedal
to maintain a safe vehicle distance if:
•The chime sounds.
•The distance warning light is illuminated.
The warning chime may not sound and the
distance warning light may not illuminate in
some cases when there is a short distance
between vehicles. Some examples are:
•When the vehicles are traveling at the same
speed and the distance between vehicles is
not changing. In this case, the distance
warning light will be on.
•When the vehicle ahead is traveling faster
and the distance between vehicles is increas-
ing.
•When a vehicle cuts in near your vehicle
•The warning chime will not sound and the
distance warning light will not illuminate
when: – The vehicle approaches other vehicles that are parked or moving slowly. – The accelerator pedal is depressed, over-
riding the system.
Also, the sensor sensitivity can be affected by
vehicle operation (steering maneuver or driving
position in the lane) or traffic or vehicle condi-
tion (for example, if a vehicle is being driven
with some damage).
Automatic cancellation
A chime sounds and the message [ICC off] is
displayed in the vehicle information display for
5 seconds under the following conditions and
the control is automatically canceled.
•The electric parking brake is applied.
•The VDC intervenes or the VDC is deacti-
vated.
•The P (Park), R (Reverse) or N (Neutral)
position is engaged.
•The cruise control lever is pulled in order to
pull away but the front passenger door or
one of the rear doors is open.
•The vehicle is skidding or a wheel slips.
•Active Park Assist is activated.
ICC LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations for the
ICC system. Failure to operate the vehicle in
accordance with these system limitations
could result in serious injury or death.
•This system is only an aid to assist the
driver and is not a collision warning or
avoidance device. It is the driver’s responsi-
bility to stay alert, drive safely and be in
control of the vehicle at all times.
•The system is primarily intended for use on
straight, dry, open roads with light traffic. It
is not advisable to use the system in city
traffic or congested areas.
•This system will not adapt automatically to
road conditions. This system should be
used in evenly flowing traffic. Do not use the
system on roads with sharp curves, or on icy
roads, in heavy rain or in fog.
•As there is a performance limit to the dis-
tance control function, never rely solely on
the ICC system. This system does not cor-
rect careless, inattentive or absent-minded
driving, or overcome poor visibility in rain,
fog, or other bad weather. Decelerate the
vehicle speed by depressing the brake

Crossing vehicles
The ICC system may detect vehicles that are
crossing your lane by mistake. Activating the
ICC system at traffic lights with crossing traffic,
for example, could cause your vehicle to pull
away unintentionally.

The FEB system uses a radar sensorAlocated
behind the INFINITI logo to measure the dis-
tance to the vehicle ahead in the traveling lane.
