PROLONGED VEHICLE INACTIVITY
If the vehicle needs to be off the road for longer than
one month, the following precautions must be
taken:
park the vehicle indoors in a dry and, if possible,
well-ventilated place;
engage a gear and check that the handbrake is not
on;
disconnect the battery negative terminal and
check the charge (see “Battery” in the
“Maintenance and care”);
clean and protect the painted parts using
protective wax;
clean and protect the shiny metal parts using
special compounds readily available;
sprinkle talcum powder on the rubber windscreen
and rear window wiper blades and lift them off the
glass;
slightly open the windows;
cover the vehicle with a piece of fabric or
perforated plastic sheet. Do not use compact
plastic tarpaulins, which prevent humidity from
evaporating from the surface of the vehicle;
inflate tyres to +0.5 bar above the normal
specified pressure and check it at intervals;
do not drain the engine cooling system.

Engine oil pressure sensor failure
The warning light turns on when an engine oil
pressure sensor failure is detected.
Go to a Fiat Dealership to have the fault fixed as
soon as possible.
Exterior lights fault
The warning light comes on (on some versions)
when a failure is detected in one of the following
lights:
side/tail lights
brake lights
rear fog lights
direction indicators
number plate lights.
The failure relating to these lights could be: one or
more blown bulbs, a blown protection fuse or a
break in the electrical connection.
A specific message is displayed on certain versions.
Fuel cut-off inertia switch tripped
The warning light switches on when the fuel cut-off
inertia switch is triggered.
The display will show a dedicated message.
Parking sensor failure
(for versions/markets, where provided)
See parking sensor warning light section.Warning light failure
The warning lightturns on and flashes to indicate a
failure of the warning light
. In this case, the
warning light may not indicate a fault in the
restraint systems.
Before continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership
immediately to have the system checked.
TPMS (amber)
TPMS failure
The warning light switches on and blinks for approx.
75 seconds, then it stays on constantly, when a
fault is detected in the TPMS.
In this case, contact a Fiat Dealership as soon as
possible.
Tyre pressure low
The warning light switches on to indicate that the
tyre pressure is lower than the recommended value
and/or that a pressure loss is occurring. In these
circumstances, optimal tyre duration and fuel
consumption may not be guaranteed.

IN AN EMERGENCY
In an emergency, we recommend that you call the freephone number found in the Warranty
Booklet.You can also go to the www.fiat.com website to find your nearest Fiat Dealership.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Go to a Fiat Dealership immediately if warning light
comes on steady on the instrument panel.
JUMP STARTING
If the battery is flat, the engine may be started using
an auxiliary battery with capacity either the same
or a little higher than the flat one.
Proceed as follows to start the car fig. 136:
connect positive terminals (+ near the terminal) of
the two batteries with a jump lead;
with a second lead, connect the negative terminal
(-) of the auxiliary battery to an earthing point
on the engine or the gearbox of the vehicle to
be started;
start the engine;
when the engine has been started, remove the
leads reversing the order above.
If after a few attempts the engine does not start, do
not keep trying but contact a Fiat Dealership.IMPORTANT Do not directly connect the negative
terminals of the two batteries: sparks could ignite
explosive gas released from the battery. If the
auxiliary battery is installed on another vehicle,
prevent accidental contact between metallic parts of
the two vehicles.
Strictly avoid using a rapid battery
charger for jump starting: this could
damage the system electronics and the
ignition and engine supply control units.

Fix&Go provides a temporary repair,
therefore the tyre must be examined and
repaired by a specialist as soon as
possible.The sealing fluid is effective at
temperatures between -40°C and +50°C. It is
possible to repair tyres which have been damaged
on tread up to a diameter of 4mm; however,
tyres damaged on their side cannot be repaired.
Before using Fix&Go kit , ensure that the tyre isn't
excessively damaged and that the rim is in good
condition, otherwise do not use it and contact
a Fiat Dealership. Do not remove foreign bodies
from the tyre. Do not let the compressor turned
on for more than 20 consecutive minutes -
overheating hazard.
The Fix&Go automatic quick tyre repair kit is located
in a special container in the boot.
The quick tyre repair kit contains fig. 149:one tank A containing the sealing fluid, provided
with: filler tube B and adhesive label C with the
writing "Max. 80 km/h”, to be attached in a
position easily visible to the driver (on the
dashboard) after tyre repair;
compressor D complete with pressure gauge and
connectors;
an instruction leaflet fig. 150, to refer to for
prompt and correct use and that must be then
given to the personnel dealing with the tyre
treated with sealant;
a pair of protective gloves located in the side
compartment of the compressor;
some adaptors, for inflating different elements.

place the vehicle in a safe and suitable area,
engaging the parking brake. Take the kit from the
specific compartment. Remove the adhesive
label of speed C fig. 149 and apply it in a visible
position. Wear the protective gloves provided.
Remove the cap from the valve B fig. 151 of
the punctured tyre and connect and firmly tighten
the transparent tube of the sealing fluid A;
ensure that the on-off button E fig. 153 is in the 0
(OFF) position. If provided, open the cover of the
compressor D fig. 149 and insert the electrical
connector in the 12V socket of the vehicle
fig. 152, switch on the vehicle engine;
activate the compressor moving on-off button E
to the I (ON) fig. 153 position. When the
pressure gauge F indicates the right pressure for
the vehicle, switch off the compressor by moving
the on-off switch F to the 0 position. If after 5
minutes from the compressor ignition, the
pressure gauge F indicates a pressure less than 1.8bar / 26 psi, switch off the compressor, disconnect
the sealing fluid tube from the tyre valve,
re-screw the valve cap and move the vehicle about
10 meters to allow the distribution of sealing
fluid in the tyre. Securely stop the vehicle and
repeat the operation above until reaching the
required pressure. If after other 5 min. from the
compressor ignition, the pressure gauge F still
indicates a pressure lower than 1.8 bar / 26 psi,
the TYRE IS TOO DAMAGED AND CANNOT
BE REPAIRED. Remove and place the kit in the
specific compartment and contact a Fiat
Dealership;if the required pressure is reached, restart driving.
Do not exceed 80 km/h. Avoid sudden
acceleration or braking. After driving for about 8
km / 5 miles, place the vehicle in a safe and
suitable area, engaging the parking brake. Pick up
the kit, ensure the on-off switch E is in the 0
position, insert the electrical connector in the
