The vehicle is fitted with five safety belts to enj
sure occupant safety. However, they can only offer protection when adjusted correctly.
The two outer safety belt buckles of the rear
seat are intended for the persons sitting on the
left and right.
The center safety belt buckle of the rear seat is
intended for the person sitting in the middle.
General
information Always make sure that safety belts are being
worn by all occupants before driving off. Alj
though airbags enhance safety by providing
added protection, they are not a substitute for safety belts.
Slowly guide the safety belt out of the holder
when fastening it.
The upper shoulder strap's anchorage point
will be correct for adult seat occupants of evj
ery build if the seat is correctly adjusted.
Safety
information WARNING
If the safety belt is used to buckle more
than one person, the protective effect of the safety belt can no longer be ensured. There is
a risk of injuries or danger to life. Do not allow more than one person to wear a single safety
belt. Infants and children are not allowed on an occupant's lap, but must be transported andsecured in designated child restraint sysj
tems.'

Buckling
the
safety
belt
Make sure you hear the latch plate engage in
the belt buckle.
To ease accessibility to the seat belt buckle, an adjustable slider is available on the belt to help
position the buckle when not in use.
Tensioning
the
safety
belt
automatically
When the safety belt is buckled, the belt strap
is automatically tightened once after the vehij cle drove off.
Unbuckling
the
safety
belt
1.Hold the safety belt firmly.2.Press the red button in the belt buckle.3.Guide the safety belt back into its roll-upmechanism.
Safety
belt
reminder
for
driver's
and
passenger's
seat
The indicator lamp lights up and a sigj
nal sounds. Make sure that the safety
belts are positioned correctly. The
safety belt reminder is active at speeds above
approx. 6 mph/10 km/h. It can also be activated if objects are placed on the front passengerseat.
Safety
mode In critical situations, for example during an
emergency stop, the front safety belts tighten automatically.
If the situation passes without an accident ocj
curring, the belt tension relaxes.
If the belt tension does not loosen automatij
cally, stop the vehicle and unbuckle the safety belt using the red button in the buckle. Fasten
the safety belt before continuing on your trip.

moved or not correctly adjusted head rej
straints can cause injuries in the head and
neck area. There is a risk of injury. Before drivj
ing, install the head restraints on the occupied
seats. Ensure that the middle of the head rej
straint supports the back of the head approxij
mately at eye level.'

General
information
A correctly adjusted head restraint reduces the
risk of injury to cervical vertebrae in the event of an accident.
Height Adjust the head restraint so that its center is
approximately at eye level.
Distance
Adjust the distance so that the head restraint is as close as possible to the back of the head.
Active
head
restraint In the event of a rear-end collision with a cerj
tain severity, the active head restraint automatj
ically reduces the distance from the head.
In the event of wear and tear due to an accij
dent, or if otherwise damaged, have the active
head restraint checked and if necessary rej
placed
Adjusting
the

Push switch up or down.
Distance

back
of
the

head
restraints
The head restraint is automatically reposij
tioned when the upper backrest is adjusted.
Adjusting
the
side
extensions
Fold the side extensions on the head restraint
forward for increased lateral support in the resting position.
Removing
The head restraints cannot be removed.
Memory
function Concept
The following settings can be stored and, if necessary, retrieved using the memory funcj tion:
'yDiver's seat position.'yExterior mirror position.'ySteering wheel position.'yHeight of the Head-up Display.
General
information
Two memory locations with different settings can be set for each driver profile, refer to
page 44.
Settings for the backrest width and lumbar
support are not stored in memory.

information WARNING
Using the memory function while driving
can lead to unexpected seat or steering wheel movements. Vehicle control could be lost.
There is a risk of an accident. Only retrieve the

Selecting
a
mirror
To change over to the other mirror:
Slide the switch.
Adjusting
electrically Press button.
The mirror movement follows the butj
ton movement.
Saving
positions
The current exterior mirror position can be stored using the memory function, refer to
page 59.
Adjusting
manually In case of an electrical malfunction, press the
edges of the mirror.
Automatic
Curb
Monitor Concept
If reverse gear is engaged, the mirror glass on
the front passenger side is tilted downward. This improves your view of the curb and other
low-lying obstacles when parking, e.g.
Activating1. Slide the switch to the driver's side
mirror position.2.Engage selector lever position R.
Deactivating
Slide the switch to the passenger side mirror
position.
Folding
in
and
out NOTE
Depending on the vehicle width, the vej
hicle can be damaged in vehicle washes. There is a risk of property damage. Before washing,
fold in the mirrors by hand or with the button.'
