When locking the vehicle with the central locking
switch, the fo llow ing applies :
- Open ing the door and the luggage compart ­
ment lid from the
outside is not possible (for
security reasons, such as when stopped at a
l ight) .
- The LED in the central locking switch turns on
when all doors are closed and locked.
- Front doors: you can open the doors indiv idual­
ly from the inside by pulling the door handle.
- Rear doors: to unlock the doors, pull on the
door handle
one time . To open the doors, pull
on the door hand le
again.
- In the event of a crash with airbag deployment,
the doors unlock automatically to allow access
to the vehicle.

A WARNING
--The central locking switch a lso works when
the ignition is sw itched off a nd automatical­
ly locks the entire vehicle when the

ton is pressed.
- The central locking switch is inoperative
when the vehicle is locked from the outside.
- Locked doors make it more difficult for
emergency workers to get into the vehicle,
which puts lives at r isk. Do not leave anyone
behind in the vehicle, especially child ren.

Setting the central locking system
In the Infotainment system, you can set which
doors the central locking system will unlock.

pull the head restraint out of the backrest.
So that the driver can have a better view to the rear, the head restraints shou ld be pushed down
completely when the rear seats are not occupied.
A WARNING

- Only remove the rear seat head restra ints
when necessary in order to install a ch ild
seat . Install the head restraint again imme­
diately once the child seat is removed . Driv­
ing with the head restraints removed or not
in the upright position inc reases the risk of
ser io us inju ry.

Correctly adjusted head restra ints and safety
belts are an extreme ly effective combinat ion
of safety features.

The 12 vo lt socket ca n be used for elec trical ac­
cessories. The power cons umption at the o utlet
must not exceed 120 watts .
There is an additional 12V socket in the cen ter
console.

Th e sockets and the electrical accessories co n­
nected to them only f unction when the igni­
tion is switched on. Incorrect usage can lead
to ser ious injuries or b urns . To reduce the risk
of injur ies, never leave ch ild ren unattended in
the vehicle with the veh icle key .

electrical system, never attempt to charge
the veh icle battery by co nnect ing accesso­
r ies that prov ide power, such as solar pa nels

Always leave the lid on the glove compart­
ment cover closed while drivi ng to reduce the

Additional compartments
You will find a variety of storage compartments
and holders at various locations in the vehicle .
- In the doo r trim pane ls.
- In the center console .
- On the side of the front seats*. The sliding com-
partment can hold a maximum of 3 .3 lbs (1.5
kg) and the folding compartment can ho ld 2.2
lbs (1 kg).
- Nets* on the backrests of the front seats
- Garment hooks next to and above the rear
doors.
- Bag/secur ing hooks in luggage compartment.
A WARNING
- Make sure that the view to the rear is not
obstructed by hanging garments.
- Hang only lightwe ight cloth ing and be sure
that there are no heavy or sharp-edged ob­
jects in the pockets.
- Do not use coat hangers to hang the cloth­
ing because t his could impair the effective­
ness of the s ide air bags *.
- Only use the storage compartments in the
door trim panels to store small objects that
will not stick out of the compa rtment and
impa ir the range of the side a irbags.
- When driving, do not leave any hard objects
on the rear window shelf or a llow your pet
to sit on the she lf. They could restr ict o r
block the driver 's vision in the rear view mir ­
ror and become a hazard for vehicle occu-

pants in the event of sudden braking or a
crash.

Objects located on the rear she lf that rub
against the rear window could damage the heating wires for the rear window defogger.

A vent slot is located between the shel f and
the rear window. Do not b lock the vent with
any items you may place on the rear window

Audi drive select
Introduction
Applies to: vehicles with Audi drive select
Drive select makes it possible to experience dif­
ferent types of vehicle settings in one vehicle.
The driver can selec t from three modes,
Comfort,
Auto
and Dynamic , using the ~:/:a button in the
center console or by using the Infotainment sys­
tem . This allows yo u to switch between a sporty
and a comfortable driving mode, for example.
Description

The following systems, among other things , are
influenced by drive select:
Engine and automatic transmission
Depending on the mode, the engine and auto­
matic transmission respond more quickly or in a
more balanced manner to accelerator pedal
movements. In the sporty dynamic mode, the
transmission shifts at higher speed ranges.
Suspension control*
The adaptive dampers use sensors to record in­
formation regarding steering movements, brak­ ing and accelerat ion operations by the driver,
road surface, driv ing speed, and load . With dr ive
select, you can adjust the adaptive dampers to
sporty (dynamic), comfortable (comfort) or bal­
anced (auto).
Steering
The steering adapts in terms of steering assis­
tance . Indirect steering that moves easily as in
comfort mode is especially su ited to long drives
on a highway . In contrast, dynamic mode pro­
vides sporty, direct steeri ng.
Cornering light*
The cornering light adapts to driving on curves .
The pivoting action and the lighting also adapt to
the mode.
Assist

The 5 selector lever position automatically en­
gages if the dynamic mode is se lected.

You can change the driving mode when the vehi­
cle is stationary or while driving . If traffic per­
mits, after changing modes, briefly take your
foot off the accelerator pedal so that the recently
selected mode is also activated for the engine.
Comfort -provides a comfort-oriented vehicle
setup and is suited for long drives on highways.
Auto -provides an overall comfortable yet dy­
namic driving feel and is suited for everyday use .
Dynamic -gives the driver a sporty driving fee l
and is suited to a sporty driving style.

Parking systems
-If the position and the installation angle of
the rearview camera was changed, for ex­
ample after a collision, do not continue to
use the system for safety reasons . Have it
checked by an authorized Audi dealer or au­
thorized Audi Service Facility.
- Only use the rearview camera to assist you if
it shows a good, clear picture. For example,
the image may be affected by the sun shin­
ing into the lens, dirt on the lens, or if there
is a malfunction.
- Use the rearview camera only if the luggage
compartment lid is completely closed. Make
sure any objects you may have mounted on
the luggag e compartment lid do not block
the rearview camera.
- The camera lens enlarges and distorts the
field of vision. The object appears both al­
tered and inaccurate on the screen.
- In certain situations, people or objects in the display appear closer or farther away:
- For objects that do not touch the ground,
such as the bumper of a parked vehicle, a
trailer hitch or the rear of a truck . Do not
use the orientation lines in this case.
- If driven from a level surface onto an in­
cline, or a downward slope.
- If driven toward protruding objects .
- If the vehicle is carrying too much load in
the rear .

- The orange-colored orientation lines in the
Infotainment display show the vehicle path
based on the steering wheel angle . The
front of the vehicle swings out more than

The following examples are unusual situations
where it may make sense to switch offroad mode
on to allow the wheels to spin:
- Rocking the vehicle to free it when it is stuck
- Dr iving in deep snow or on loose ground
- Driving on rough terrain when much of the car's
weight is lifted off the wheels (axle articula­
tion)
- Dr iving downh ill wh ile braking on loose ground
The ESC is designed to function in levels. Depend­
ing on the level selected , the ESC stabilization
function is limited or switched off. The amount of
stabilization control will differ depending on the
level. For your safety, switch the offroad mode off in
advance.
