Ill Maximum engine speed: XXXX rpm
The engine speed is automatica lly lim ited to the
speed d isplayed in the instrument cluster. T his
p rotects the e ng ine from overheating .
The engine speed lim itation deactivates once the
engine is no longer in the critical temperature
range and you have released the acce le rato r ped­
al once .
I f the engine speed lim itation was activated by
an eng ine contro l ma lf u nction,
the @B indicator
light also t urn s on. Make su re that the speed
does not go above t he speed d is p layed . Drive to
a n author ized A udi dealer or au thor ized A udi

Cleaning the headlights* . The headlight washer
system * operates only when the low beam head­
li ghts are on . If you move the lever to posit ion
® , the headlights and the night v ision assist
camera* are cleaned at intervals .

-The rain sensor is o nly intended to ass ist t he
d river . The driver may still be responsible
for manually switc hing the wipers on bas ed
on vi sibility con ditions .
- The winds hield may not be t reated with wa­
ter-repelling w indshield coating agents. Un­
f a vo rable condit ions, such as wet ness, d ark ­
n es s or low su n, can resu lt in increased
glare, which increases the risk of an acci ­
de nt. W iper blade chatter is also possible.
- P roperly func tioning wi ndshiel d wipe r
blades are required for a clea r view and safe
driving

- If there is frost, make sure the win dshield
wiper blades are not frozen to the wind ­
shield. Switch ing on the windshield wipers
when the blades are frozen to the wind­
shield can damage the w iper blades.
- Prior to using a car wash, the windshield
w iper system must be sw itched off (lever in
posit io n 0) . This prevents the wipers from
switching on unintentionally and causi ng
damage to the windsh ield wiper sys tem .
@ Tips
-The windshie ld w ipers switch off when the
ignition is switc hed off. You can activate the
w indshield wipers after the ignition is
switched back on by moving the w indshield
wiper lever to a ny po sit ion .
- Wor n or dirty w indshield w iper blades resu lt

Cleaning windshield wiper blades
Clean the wiper blades when you see wiper
streaks. Use a soft cloth and a glass cleaner.

Braking
New brake pads
New b rake pads do not ac hieve the ir full b raking
effe ct during the firs t 2S 0 mi (400 km). They
m ust be "broken in" fi rst .
The b rea k-in period ca n be considerably longe r
for ve hicles w it h cer amic b rake rotors*. However,
you can compensa te fo r the slightly reduced

braking force by pressing firmly on the brake
pedal. Avo id heavy braking during the break-in
per iod.
Wear
Brake pad
wear depends large ly on the way the
vehicle is driven and on ope rating conditions .
This is espec ia ll y true if you a re driv ing frequent ly
i n the city and on curves or with a sporty driving
sty le .
Ope rating noi se
Noises may occur when braking depending on the
speed, braking force and outside conditions such
as temperature and humid ity.
Noises may become mo re apparent at lower
speeds due to the nature of the materials in the
ceram ic brake rotors* .
Effect of water and road salt
In certain situa tions, for e xamp le after d riving
thro ugh water, in heavy rain, a fter over nigh t con­
densation or after washing your car, the brak ing
effect can be reduced by moisture or ice on the bra ke rotors and brake pads. The brakes must be
"dried" f irst with a few ca refu l brake app lica­
tions.
At higher speeds and with the windshield wipers
turned on, the brake pads press against the brake rotors for a short amount of time. This action,
wh ich is not felt by the dr iver, happens at regu lar .,..

General information
Regular, proper care helps to maintain your vehi­
cle's value.
It can a lso be a requirement when
submitting warranty claims for corrosion damage
and paint defects on the body.
The necessary care products can be obtained
from an authorized Audi dealer or authorized
Audi Service Facility . Read and follow the instruc­
tions for use on the packaging.
A WARNING
- Us ing clean ing and care products incorrectly
can be dangerous to your health.
- Always store clean ing and care products out
of reach of children to reduce the r isk of po i­
soning .
@ For the sake of the environment
- Preferably purchase env ironmenta lly-friend­
l y cleaning products.
- Do not d ispose of leftover cleaning and care
products with household trash.
Car washes
T he longer that deposits remain on the vehicle,
the more the surface may be damaged. High
temperatures such as those caused by sunlight
increase the damag ing effect.
Befor e washing, rinse
off heavy depos its with
p lenty of water.
S tubborn depos its such as bird droppings or tree
sap are best removed with plenty of water and a
microfiber cloth.
A lso, wash t he un derside of yo ur vehicle once
road sa lt stops being used for the season .
Pressure washers
When washing your ve hicles w ith a pressure
washer, always follow t he ope rating inst ructions
p rovided w ith the pressure washe r. This is espe ­
cially important in regard to the pressu re and
sp raying distance. Do not a im the spray directly
at the sea ls on the side w indows, doors, lids or

the sun roof * or at tires, rubber hoses, ins ulating
material, sensors* or camera lenses* . Keep a dis­
tance of at least 16 in (40 cm).
Do not remove snow and ice with a pressure
washer.
Never use cone noz zles o r high pressu re noz zles .
The water temperature must not be above 140 °F
(60 °C).

Make s ure that the wi ndows and roo f* are closed
and the windsh ie ld wipers are
off . Follow instruc ­
tions from the car wash operator, especially if
there are accessories attached to your vehicle .
If possible, use car washes that do not have
brushes .
Applies to: RS models: only use car washes where
t h e vehi cle rema ins s ta ti onary and the washi ng
equipmen t moves around the veh icle when wash ­
ing and drying. Car washes that move the ve hicle
th rough the car wash using a chain are not rec­
ommended.
Washing by hand
Clean the ve hicl e s tarting from the top and wor k­
ing down using a soft sponge or cleaning br ush .
Use solvent -free cleaning products.
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint by
hand
T o avo id damag ing the pa int when washing, firs t
remove dust and large pa rticles from your vehi­
cle . Insects, grease spots and fingerprints are
best removed w ith a special cleaner for matte
finish paint.
Apply the product using a microfiber cloth . To
avo id damaging the pa int surface, do not use too
much pressure .
Rinse the ve hicl e thorough ly w ith wate r. Then
clean using a neutra l shampoo and a so ft micro ­
fiber cloth .
Rinse the ve hicl e thoroug hly aga in and let it air
dry . Remove any water residue using a chamois. ..,.
