In case of puncture
Depending on the vehicle, a tyre infla-
tion kit or emergency spare wheel is
provided (refer to the following pages).
Special note
The Tyre Pressure Monitor function
does not check the emergency spare
wheel (the wheel replaced by the emer-
gency spare wheel disappears from the
instrument panel display).
Refer to the information on the “Tyre
pressure monitoring system” in
Section 2.
If the emergency spare wheel has been stored for several years, have it \
checked by your Dealer to ensure that it is safe to use.
Vehicles fitted with an emergency spare wheel smaller than the
four other wheels:
– Never fit more than one emergency spare wheel to the same vehicle.
– As the punctured wheel is wider than the emergency spare wheel, the vehi\
cle’s ground clearance is reduced.
– Replace the emergency spare wheel as soon as possible with a wheel with \
the same dimensions as the original.
– When this is fitted to the vehicle, which must only be a temporary measu\
re, the driving speed must not exceed the speed indicated on the label on the wh\
eel.
– Fitting an emergency spare wheel may alter the way the vehicle usually r\
uns. Avoid sudden acceleration or deceleration and reduce your speed when cor-\
nering.
– If you need to use snow chains, fit the emergency spare wheel to the rea\
r axle and check the tyre pressure.

If the vehicle is parked on
the hard shoulder, you must
warn other road users of
your vehicle’s presence
with a warning triangle or with other
devices as per the legislation ap-
plying to the country you are in.
Disable the «hands-free» function before washing the vehicle manua\
lly
or handling the emergency spare wheel or the towbar.
Risk of accidental opening or closing of the tailgate which may
cause injury.

Emergency spare wheel
It is located under the vehicle.
From the boot:
– for vehicles fitted with a servo, uns-crew the three mounting bolts 1
then move the servo 2 to access the
cover 3;
– lift cover 3;
– remove blanking cover;

– only use the wheel brace 4 (using
a different tool could damage the
mechanism) to unroll the retaining
cable, and the wheel falls to the
ground.
– from the exterior of the vehicle, stand the wheel up and pass the cable and
the component 5 through the wheel
rim and release the wheel.

Reposition the blanking cover then the
cover 3.
For vehicles fitted with a servo, replace
the servo 2. Tighten the three screws 1.

As the punctured wheel is wider than the emergency spare wheel, when
you place the punctured wheel in the emergency spare wheel bay, the
vehicle’s ground clearance is reduced. To prevent damage, proceed ca-
refully when driving over raised sections of road and when dismounting
pavements When this is fitted to the vehicle, which must only be a tempo\
rary
measure, the driving speed must not exceed the speed indicated on the la\
bel
on the wheel. Replace the emergency spare wheel as soon as possible with\
a
wheel with the same dimensions as the original.
To refit a wheel
To carry out this operation, the cable
must be unwound.
Stand the wheel up with the valve to-
wards you. Thread the cable and the
component 5 through the wheel rim.
Rest the wheel with the valve 6 towards
the ground.
From the luggage compartment, tighten
the bolt fully in order to wind the retai-
ning cable, ensuring that the wheel re-
mains horizontal and the cable taut.

TYRE PRESSURE KIT (1/3)
The kit is only approved
for inflating the tyres of the
vehicle originally equipped
with the kit.
It must never be used to inflate
the tyres of another vehicle, or any
other inflatable object (rubber ring,
rubber boat, etc.).
Avoid spillage on skin when han-
dling the repair liquid bottle. If dro-
plets do leak out, rinse them off with
plenty of water.
Keep the repair kit away from chil-
dren.
Do not dispose of the empty bottle
in the countryside. Return it to your
approved dealer or to a recycling or-
ganisation.
The bottle has a limited service
life which is indicated on its label.
Check the expiry date.
Contact an approved dealer to re-
place the inflation tube and repair
product bottle.

The kit repairs tyres when
tread A has been da-
maged by objects smaller
than 4 mm. It cannot repair
all types of puncture, such as cuts
larger than 4 mm, or cuts in tyre si-
dewall B.
Ensure also that the wheel rim is in
good condition.
Do not pull out the foreign body cau-
sing the puncture if it is still in the
tyre.
Do not attempt to use the
inflation kit if the tyre has
been damaged as a result
of driving with a puncture.
You should therefore carefully check
the condition of the tyre sidewalls
before any operation.
Driving with underinflated, flat or
punctured tyres can be dangerous
and may make the tyre impossible
to repair.
This repair is temporary
A tyre which has been punctured
should always be inspected (and re-
paired, where possible) as soon as
possible by a specialist.
When taking a tyre which has been
repaired using this kit to be replaced,
you must inform the specialist.
When driving, vibration may be felt
due to the presence of the repair
product injected into the tyre.

5.6
TYRE PRESSURE KIT (2/3)
In the event of a puncture, use the kit si-
tuated under the second row rear pas-
senger footwell flap 1.
Before using the kit, park
the vehicle at a sufficient
distance from traffic, switch
on the hazard warning
lights, apply the parking brake, ask
all passengers to leave the vehicle
and keep them away from traffic.

– end piece 3 must be connected to a
vehicle accessories socket;
– press switch 5 to inflate the tyre to
the recommended pressure (please
refer to the information on “Tyre in-
flation pressure” in Section 4);
– after a maximum of 15 minutes, stop inflating and read the pressure (on
pressure gauge 6).
Note: while the bottle is emptying
(approximately 30 seconds), the
pressure gauge 6 will indicate briefly
a pressure of 6 bar, then the pres-
sure drops.
– adjust the pressure: to increase it, continue inflation with the kit; to
reduce it, press button 7.
If the vehicle is parked on

With the engine running and the par-
king brake applied,
– unroll the hose from the container;
– connect the compressor hose 4 to
the container’s inlet 9;
– depending on the vehicle, connect the container 9 to the compressor
from the container recess 8;
– unscrew the valve cap on the rele- vant wheel and screw on the contai-
ner’s inflation adapter 2;
– disconnect any accessories pre- viously connected to the vehicle’s
accessories sockets;

If a minimum pressure of 1.8 bar is
not reached after 15 minutes, repair
is not possible; do not drive the vehi-
cle but contact an approved dealer.Once the tyre is correctly inflated,
remove the kit: slowly unscrew the in-
flation adapter 2
to prevent any repair
product from escaping and store the
container in plastic packaging to pre-
vent the product from escaping.
– Affix the driving recommendation label to the dashboard where it can
easily be seen by the driver;
– Put the kit away.
– At the end of this initial inflation ope- ration, air will still escape from the
tyre. You must drive a short distance
in order to seal the hole.
– Start immediately and drive at between 12 and 40 mph (20 and
60 km/h) in order to distribute the
product evenly in the tyre and, after
driving for 2 miles (3 km), stop and
check the pressure.
– If the pressure is greater than 1.3 bar but less than the recommended
pressure (refer to the label affixed to
the edge of the driver’s door), read-
just it. Otherwise, please contact an
authorised dealer: the tyre cannot be
repaired.
Precautions when using the
kit
The kit should not be operated for more
than 15 consecutive minutes.
Please be aware that a
poorly tightened or missing
valve cap can make the
tyres less airtight and may
lead to pressure loss.
Always use valve caps identical to
those fitted originally and tighten
them fully.
Following repair with the kit,
do not travel further than
120 miles (200 km). In addi-
tion, reduce your speed and
under no circumstances exceed
48 mph (80 km/h). The sticker,
which you must affix in a prominent
position on the dashboard, reminds
you of this.
Depending on the country or local
legislation, a tyre repaired with the
inflation kit may need to be replaced.
Nothing should be placed
around the driver’s feet
as such objects may slide
under the pedals during
sudden braking manoeuvres and
obstruct their use.

Fold it correctly before refitting it in its
housing (ensure that the wheelbrace is
correctly positioned 4).
Hubcap tool 5
This tool is used to remove the wheel
trims.
Tow eye 6
Refer to the information on “Towing” in
Section 5.
Screw guide 7
For tightening/loosening wheel bolts on
vehicles fitted with alloy wheels
The presence of the tools depends on
the vehicle.
Wheelbrace 2
Allows the wheel bolts to be locked/un-
locked (using end piece
B).
Enables the emergency spare wheel
retaining cable to be wound/unwound
(using end piece A).

Tool kit storage
The tool kit is located in flap 1 under the
feet of the right-hand second row pas-
senger.
To refit, reposition the tools in their
housing and fold the jack fully. Check
that the assembly is correctly posi-
tioned (to avoid noise).
