Hiding display messages
XPress th ea or% buttonon th esteerin gwheel.
The multifunction display hide sth edisplay message .
High-priorit ydisplay message sare shown in red in th emultifunction display. Some high-pri -
orit ydisplay message scanno tbe hidden .
The multifunction display shows these message scontinuously until th ecauses fo rth emes -
sage shav ebeen remedied.
Message memory
The on-boar dcompute rsaves certain display message sin th emessage memory .You can cal l
up th edisplay messages:
XPress =or; on thesteerin gwhee lto selec tth eServ.menu.
If there are display messages, th emultifunction display shows 2Messages
,fo rexample.
XPress th e9 or: buttonto selec tth eentry, e.g. 2messages.
XPress ato confirm .
XPress the9 or: buttonto scroll through th edisplay messages.
Whe nth eignition is switched off, all display message sare deleted, apar tfrom som ehigh-
priorit ydisplay messages. Once th ecauses of th ehigh-priorit ydisplay message shav ebeen
rectified, th ecorrespondin gdisplay message sare also deleted.

tronic Stability Program), ESP®trailer stabilization, PRE‑SAFE®,
the HOLD function, hill start assist, Crosswind Assist, STEER CON-
TROL, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist are
temporarily unavailable.
COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST, BAS PLUS and
PRE‑SAFE
®Brake may also have failed.
In addition, the ÷,åand! warning lamps light up in the
instrument cluster.
ATTENTION ASSIST is deactivated.
Possible causes are:
RSelf-diagnosis is not yet complete.
Rthe on-board voltage may be insufficient.
GWARNING
The brake system continues to function normally, but without the
functions listed above. The wheels could therefore lock if you
brake hard, for example.
The steerability and braking characteristics may be severely affec-
ted. The braking distance in an emergency braking situation can
increase.
If ESP
®is not operational, ESP®is unable to stabilize the vehicle.
There is an increased risk of skidding and an accident.
XCarefully drive a suitable distance, making slight steering move-
ments at a speed above 12 mph (20 km/h).
If the display message disappears, the functions mentioned
above are available again.
If the multifunction display still shows the display message:
XDrive on carefully.
XVisit a qualified specialist workshop.

attention to road and traffic conditions.

any circumstances.

The tire pressure loss warning system has detected a significant
loss in pressure.
A warning tone also sounds.
Possible causes:
Ryou have changed the positions of the wheels and tires or instal-
led new wheels and tires.
Rthe tire pressure in one or more tires is not correct.
GWARNING
Tire pressures that are too low pose the following hazards:
Rthey may burst, especially as the load and vehicle speed
increase.
Rthey may wear excessively and/or unevenly, which may greatly
impair tire traction.
Rthe driving characteristics, as well as steering and braking, may
be greatly impaired.
There is a risk of an accident.
XStop the vehicle without making any sudden steering or braking
maneuvers. Pay attention to the traffic conditions as you do so.
XSecure the vehicle against rolling away (Ypage 189).
XCheck the tires and, if necessary, follow the instructions for a
flat tire (
Ypage 387).
XCheck the tire pressures and, if necessary, correct the tire pres-
sure.
XRestart the tire pressure loss warning system when the tire
pressure is correct (
Ypage 412).
