CAUTION
Heed the following cautions to assure the correct operation of the Forward Sensing
Camera (FSC).
Do not remove the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) cover. Do not place objects on the dashboard which reflect light. Do not apply accessories, stickers or film to the windshield nea r the Forward
Sensing Camera (FSC). If there are objects in front of the Forward Sensing Camera
(FSC) lens, even a transparent sticker, they will cause the system to not operate
correctly.
Always keep the windshield glass around the camera clean by removing dirt or
fogging. Use the windshield defroster to remove fogging on the windshield. When cleaning the windshield, do not allow glass cleaners or similar cle\
aning
agent to get on the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) lens. In addition, do not touch
the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) lens.
Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer regarding cleaning the interior side of the
windshield around the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC). Be careful not to scratch the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) lens or allow it to get
dirty. Also, do no take the camera apart. Otherwise, it could result in damage or
malfunction.
Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer before performing repairs around the
Forward Sensing Camera (FSC). The Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is installed to the windshield. Consult an
Authorized Mazda Dealer for windshield repair and replacement. When performing r epairs around the rearview mirror, consult an Authorized Mazda
Dealer. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer regarding cleaning of the Forward Sensing
Camera (FSC) lens. Do not hit or apply str ong force to the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) or the area
around it. If strong force is applied, stop using the Lane Departure Warning System
(LDWS) and the High Beam Control System (HBC), and consult an Authorized
Mazda Dealer.
The direction in which the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is pointed has been

Laser Sensor (Front)
The Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) laser sensor is installed at the top of the windshield
near the rearview mirror.
Laser sensor (front)
Always keep the surface of the windshield around the laser sensor clean \
to assure proper
operation of the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system.
WARNING
As there is the possibility of eye damage occurring from the laser, always heed the
following precautions:
Never remove the sensor. A removed sensor will not meet the conditions for a class 1M laser under the IEC
60825-1 specification and therefore eye safety cannot be assured. Do not peer into the sensor using optical instruments with a magnification function
such as magnifying glasses, and microscopic and objective lenses within a distance of
100 mm (3.94 in) from the sensor.
