•When installing a container of
liquid air freshener inside the
vehicle, do not place it near the
instrument cluster nor on the
instrument panel surface.
It may become a dangerous pro
jectile and cause injury if the pas
senger's air bag inflates.
•If an air bag deploys, there may
be a loud noise followed by a fine
dust released in the vehicle.
These conditions are normal and
are not hazardous the air bags
are packed in this fine powder.
The dust generated during air
bag deployment may cause skin
or eye irritation as well as aggra
vate asthma for some persons.
Always wash all exposed skin
areas thoroughly with cold water
and a mild soap after an accident
in which the air bags were
deployed.

•The SRS can function only
when the ignition switch is in the
ON position.
•Before you replace a fuse or dis
connect a battery terminal, turn
the ignition switch to the LOCK
position and remove the ignition
key. Never remove or replace
the air bag related fuse(s) when
the ignition switch is in the ON
position. Failure to heed this
warning will cause the SRS air
bag warning light to illuminate.

Electric power steering (EPS) (if
equipped)
The system assists you with steering
the vehicle. If the engine is off or if
the power steering system becomes
inoperative, the vehicle may still be
steered, but it will require increased
steering effort.
Also, the steering effort becomes
heavier as the vehicle’s speed
increases and becomes lighter as
the vehicle’s speed decreases for
better control of the steering wheel.
Should you notice any change in the
effort required to steer during normal
vehicle operation, we recommend
that the system be checked by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.If the Electric Power Steering
System does not operate normally,
the warning light () will illuminate
on the instrument cluster. The steer
ing wheel may become difficult to
control or operate. Take your vehicle
to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer
and have the system checked as
soon as possible.

Instrument Cluster ControlAdjusting Instrument Cluster
Illumination (if equipped)
The brightness of the instrument
panel illumination changes by press
ing the upper or lower part of the
switch when the ignition switch is in
the ON position and when the park
ing lights are turned on. If the brightness reaches to the maxi
mum or minimum level, a chime will
sound (if equipped).
Never adjust the instrument cluster
while driving. This could result in
loss of control and lead to an acci
dent that may cause death, serious
injury, or property damage.
