Basic HFL Operation
Make and receive phone calls using the vehicle’s audio system, without handling your phone. Visit
handsfreelink.com (U.S.) or handsfreelink.ca (Canada) to check phone
compatibility.
To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain manual functions may be inoperable or grayed out while the vehicle is moving. Stop or pull over to perform the
function. Voice commands are also available.
HFL Controls
Use the controls to enter information and make selections.
Hang-Up/Back button: End or decline a call, or cancel
an operation. Pick-Up button: Answer an incoming call.
Talk button: Access the Voice Portal to make a call
using a stored voice tag, or say voice commands*. button: Press until the phone screen is displayed in the Driver Information
Interface. p / q buttons: Press up or down to navigate the contact list in the Driver
Information Interface. Swipe up or down to scroll through the contact list.ENTER button: From the phone screen in the Driver Information Interface,
select from Speed Dial, Call History, or Phonebook.

Notes: •  Any requests that include visual feedback from Siri on your phone are not displayed
in the vehicle.

Basic Navigation Operation
A real-time navigation system uses GPS and a map database to show your current
location and help guide you to a desired destination. You can operate the system using voice commands or the system controls.
To reduce the potential for driver distraction, certain manual functions may be
inoperable or grayed out while the vehicle is moving. Voice commands are always available.
Steering Wheel Controls
Use the steering wheel controls to say voice commands.
Talk Button Tips

Entering a Destination
Use several methods to enter a destination.
Home Address
Store your home address in the system so you can easily route to it.
1. From the map screen, select the Search icon.
2. Select MENU.
3. Select Set Home Location.
4. Select Enter My Address.
5. Select Search All.
6. Enter the street number and select Done.
7. Enter the street name and select Done. Select the
street from the list.
8. Select the address from the list. A map of the address is shown. Select Select.
When your home address is stored, you can press the Talk button and say “ Navigation ” and then “Go home” at any time. You can also select Go Home from the
Where To? menu.
Street Address
Enter a street address.
1. From the map screen, select the Search icon.
2. Select Address.
3. Select Search All.
4. Enter the street number and select Done.
5. Enter the street name and select Done. Select the street from the list.
6. Select the address from the list.
7. Select Go!.
You can also enter a street address using voice
commands. Press the Talk button and say “ Navigation ” and then “ Find Address .” Follow the

Place Category
Enter a destination using a point of interest or landmark.
1. From the map screen, select the Search icon.
2. Select Categories.
3. Select a category (and a subcategory if
necessary).
4. Select a place from the list.
5. Select Go!.
You can also enter a street address using voice
commands. Press the Talk button and say “ Navigation ” and then “ Find Place.” Follow the
prompts.
Recent Places
Select an address from a list of your 50 most recent destinations.
1. From the map screen, select the Search icon.
2. Select Recent.
3. Select a place from the list.
4. Select Go!.
Saved Places
Save locations so you can quickly route to them.
Saving a location
1. From the map screen, select the Search icon.
2. Select Enter Search.
3. Enter the address or place name.
4. Select the destination name when it appears.
5. Select the info icon.
6. Select the menu icon.
7. Select Save.
8. Select OK.
You can also save your current location. From the map screen, select the vehicle icon. Select Save. Enter a name for the location. Select Done. Select OK.
Routing to a saved location
1. From the map screen, select the Search icon.
2. Select Saved.
3. Select the destination from the list.
4. Select Go!.

Traffic
View trafc ow and incidents in major metro areas. Trafc alerts are accompanied by an audible beep. Pop-up messages and trafc information can be viewed when
you are on the map screen. You can also select trafc to avoid. Trafc coverage is limited in Canada.
Viewing traffic
1. From the map screen, select the trafc icon.
2. Select Trafc Conditions.
3. Trafc icons are shown on the map. Select the magnifying glass icon to display a full list of trafc delays.
To mute trafic alerts and voice guidance: From the
map screen, press MENU. Select Mute. To lower voice guidance volume, see page 83.
Avoiding traffic on your route
1. From the map screen, select the trafc icon.
2. Select Trafc on Route.
3. Select an incident to avoid from the list.
4. Select the menu icon.

Below are some frequently asked questions and troubleshooting items that you may have about the vehicle. Q:
How do I set the vehicle clock?
A: For vehicles without navigation, see page 51. For vehicles with navigation, the
time is automatically set using GPS signals.Q: Why doesn’t the vehicle start when I press the ENGINE START/STOP button?*
A: The brake pedal must be pressed to start the engine.
Q: What is the AUTO* setting on my headlight lever?
A: When in the AUTO position, the vehicle’s exterior lights will automatically turn
on or off depending on the ambient lighting.Q: Why won’t the driver’s door unlock when I grab the door handle, even though 
  the keyless access remote is within range?* A: If you pull the handle too quickly, the system may not have time to conrm the
door is unlocked. Wait to hear a beep to conrm the door is unlocked. If you are
wearing gloves, the system may be slow to respond. Q: After my battery was disconnected or went dead, the audio system is asking for 
  a code. Where do I ind this? A: In most cases, you do not need to enter a code. Turn on the vehicle and the
audio system, and press and hold the power button until the system reactivates. Q: Why can’t I operate Pandora through the audio system?*
A: Audio may be streaming through Bluetooth Audio. Make sure Pandora mode
is selected and the phone cable is properly connected to the USB adapter
cable (if using). Some phones may prompt you to “Allow” a connection. Q: Is my phone compatible with  Bluetooth features?

check phone compatibility for Bluetooth Audio, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink,
