Driving recommendations
Observe the driving regulations and remain vigilant whatever the traffic conditions.
Pay
close attention to the traffic and keep your
h
ands on the wheel so that you are ready to
r
eact at any time to any eventuality.
On
a long journey, a break every two hours is
s
trongly
re
commended.
In
difficult weather, drive smoothly, anticipate
t
he need to brake and increase the distance
f
rom other vehicles.
Driving on flooded roads
We strongly advise against driving on flooded roads, as this could cause serious damage
t
o the engine or gearbox, as well as to the
e
lectrical systems of your vehicle.If
you are obliged to drive through water:

c
heck that the depth of water does not
e
xceed 15 cm, taking account of waves
t
hat might be generated by other users,
-
d
eactivate the Stop & Start system,
-
d
rive as slowly as possible without
s
talling. In all cases, do not exceed 6 mph (
10 km/h),
- d o not stop and do not switch off the
e
ngine.
On
leaving the flooded road, as soon as
c
ircumstances allow, make several light brake
a
pplications to dry the brake discs and pads.
If
in doubt on the state of your vehicle, contact
a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Never drive with the parking brake applied - Risk of overheating and

amage to the braking system!
Risk

As
the exhaust system of your vehicle

s very hot, even several minutes after

witching off the engine, do not park

r run the engine over areas where

flammable

ubstances

aterials

re present: grass, leaves, etc.
Never
leave a vehicle unsupervised

ith the engine running. If you have

o leave your vehicle with the engine

unning, apply the parking brake

nd put the gearbox into neutral or

f gearbox.

Electronic key left in the
reader
If the electronic key is left in the reader, on opening the driver's door a message
a
ppears to warn you.
In
the event of an emergency only,
t
he engine can be switched off
w
ithout any conditions. To do this,
p
ress the "START/STOP" button for
a
bout three seconds.
In this case the steering column locks
a
s soon as the vehicle stops.
Emergency stop

Starting the engine
The presence of the "Keyless Entry and Starting" electronic key in the recognition zone

It
is not necessary to place the electronic key in

he back-up reader.
If
the electronic key is not detected,
a
message is displayed. Move the

lectronic key into the recognition zone
s
o that the engine can be started.
In
the event of a problem, see "Key not

If one of the starting conditions is not met, a reminder message appears in the i
nstrument panel screen.

some circumstances, it is necessary

o turn the steering wheel slightly while

ressing the "START/STOP " button
to
assist unlocking of the steering; a

essage warns you when this is needed.
As a safety measure, never leave the vehicle while the engine is running.
The
steering
column
unlocks
and
the
engine

tarts
more

less
instantly.

Switching the ignition on

With the ignition on, the system goes i
nto energy economy mode when

ecessary to maintain the state of

harge of the battery.
With
the electronic key in the reader or the

eyless Entry and Starting key inside the

ehicle, pressing the "START/STOP" button,

ith no action on the pedals
, allows the
ignition to be switched on.

Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The keys contain an electronic chip which has a
secret code. When the ignition is switched
o
n, this code must be recognised in order for
s
tarting to be possible.
This
electronic engine immobiliser locks the
e
ngine management system a few minutes
a
fter the ignition is switched off and prevents
s
tarting of the engine by anyone who does not
h
ave the key.
In
the event of a malfunction, you are informed
b
y a message in the instrument panel screen.
In
t

Automatic operation
Automatic release
The complete release of the parking brake is confirmed by the brake
i
ndicator lamp and the P indicator
l
amp in the control lever going off,
a
ccompanied by the display of the
m
essage "Parking brake released".
When stationary with the engine running, do not depress the accelerator pedal unnecessarily, y
ou risk releasing the parking brake.
Ensure first that the engine is running and the driver's door is properly closed.
The
electric parking brake releases
automatically and progressively when you
press
the accelerator:
