Replacing the fusesMain fuse
The main fuse is located behind panel
A. (See page 6-8.)
If the main fuse is blown, replace it as
follows.1. Turn the key to “OFF”.
2. Remove the blown fuse, and then install a new fuse of the specified
amperage. WARNING! Do not
use a fuse of a higher amperage
rating than recommended to
avoid causing extensive dam-
age to the electrical system and
possibly a fire.

3. Turn the key to “ON” to check if the vehicle operates normally. If the
main fuse immediately blows
again, have a Yamaha dealer
check the electrical system.
4. After removing and installing the
main fuse, turn the main switch
from “ON” to “OFF” three times in
three-second intervals to initialize
the idle speed control system.
Fuse box
The fuse box, which contains the fuses
for the ignition, turn signal, and lighting
systems, as well as the back-up fuse
for the multi-function meter unit, is lo-
cated underneath the windshield be-
hind the front cowling. Have a Yamaha
dealer check and replace these fuses if
