CAUTION
■The ABS does not operate effectively when
●The limits of tire gripping performance have been exceeded (such as
excessively worn tires on a snow covered road).
● The vehicle hydroplanes while driving at high speed on wet or slick road.
■ Stopping distance when the ABS is operating may exceed that of nor-
mal conditions
The ABS is not designed to shorten the vehicle’s stopping distance. Always
maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, especially in the fol-
lowing situations:
● When driving on dirt, gravel or snow-covered roads
● When driving with tire chains
● When driving over bumps in the road
● When driving over roads with potholes or uneven surfaces
■ TRAC may not operate effectively when
Directional control and power may not be achievable while driving on slip-
pery road surfaces, even if the TRAC system is operating.
Drive the vehicle carefully in conditions where stability and power may be
lost.
■ When the VSC is activated
The slip indicator light flashes. Always drive carefully. Reckless driving may
cause an accident. Exercise particular care when the indicator light flashes.

CAUTION
■Limitations of the pre-collision system
The driver is solely responsible for safe driving. Always drive safely, taking
care to observe your surroundings.
Do not use the pre-collision system instead of normal braking operations
under any circumstances. This system will not prevent collisions or lessen
damage or injuries in all cases. Do not overly rely on this system. Failure to
do so may cause an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.
This system has been designed to help avoid and reduce the impact of colli-
sions. However, the system operates differently depending on the situation
(P. 342, 343). As a result, the same level of performance may not be
expected in all cases. Also, the pre-collision brakes may not operate if the
driver is depressing the brake pedal or turning the steering wheel, as the
system will determine such conditions as collision avoidance operations.

Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering
with the pedals while driving. An unexpectedly high speed may result or it may
become difficult to stop the vehicle, leading to a serious accident.
■When installing the driver’s floor mat
●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year
vehicles, even if they are Toyota Genuine floor mats.
● Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat.
● Always install the floor mat securely using the retaining hooks (clips) pro-
vided.
● Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other.
● Do not place the floor mat bottom-side up or upside-down.
■ Before driving
●Check that the floor mat is securely
fixed in the correct place with all the
provided retaining hooks (clips). Be
especially careful to perform this check
after cleaning the floor.
● With the hybrid system stopped and the
shift position in P, fully depress each
pedal to the floor to make sure it does
not interfere with the floor mat.

Safety Connect
: If equipped
Safety Connect is a subscription-based telematics service that uses
Global Positioning System (GPS) data and embedded cellular tech-
nology to provide safety and security features to subscribers. Safety
Connect is supported by Toyota ’s designated response center,
which operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Safety Connect service is available by subscription on select,
telematics hardware-equipped vehicles.
By using the Safety Connect servi ce, you are agreeing to be bound
by the Telematics Subscription Serv ice Agreement and its Terms and
Conditions, as in effect and amende d from time to time, a current
copy of which is available at Toyota.com. All use of the Safety Con-
nect service is subject to such then-applicable Terms and Condi-
tions.
