1. Clean anymud ordirt from thesurface
between thewheel andhub.
2. Carefully putthespare tireonand tighten
the wheel nutsfinger tight.Check thatallthe
wheel nutscontact thewheel surface
horizontally .
3. With thewheel nutwrench, tightenwheel
nuts alternately andevenly inthe sequence
as illustrated (

than 2times, untilthey aretight. 4.
Lower thevehicle slowlyuntilthetire
touches theground. Then,withthewheel
nut wrench, tightenthewheel nutssecurely
in the sequence asillustrated. Lowerthe
vehicle completely .
WARNING
. Incorrect wheelnutsorimproperly
tightened wheelnutscancause the
wheel tobecome looseorcome off.
This could cause anaccident.
. Do not use oilorgrease onthe
wheel studsornuts. Thiscould
cause thenuts tobecome loose.
. Retighten thewheel nutswhen the
vehicle hasbeen driven for600
miles (1,000 km)(also incases ofa
flat tire, etc.).

As soon aspossible, tightenthe
wheel nutstothe specified torque
with atorque wrench.
Wheel nuttightening torque:
80 ft-lb (108 N´m)
The wheel nutsmust bekept tightened
to specifications atall times. Itis
recommended thatthewheel nutsbe tightened
tospecifications ateach
lubrication interval.

Adjust tirepressure tothe COLD
pressure.

W ASHING

plenty ofwater. Cleanthevehicle thoroughly
using amild soap, aspecial vehiclesoapor
general purpose dishwashing liquidmixed with
clean, lukewarm (neverhot)water.
CAUTION
. Donot use carwashes thatuseacid
in the detergent. Somecarwashes,
especially brushlessones,usesome
acid forcleaning. Theacid mayreact
with some plastic vehicle compo-
nents, causing themtocrack. This
could affect theirappearance, and
also could cause themnottofunc-
tion properly. Alwayscheckwith
your carwash toconfirm thatacid
is not used.
. Donot wash thevehicle withstrong
household soap,strong chemical
detergents, gasolineorsolvents.
. Do not wash thevehicle indirect
sunlight orwhile thevehicle bodyis
hot, asthe surface maybecome
water-spotted.
. Avoid usingtight-napped orrough
cloths, suchaswashing mitts.Care
must betaken whenremoving
caked-on dirtorother foreign sub-
stances sothe paint surface isnot
scratched ordamaged.
Rinse thevehicle thoroughly withplenty ofclean water.
Inside flanges, seamsandfolds onthe doors,
hatches andhood areparticularly vulnerableto
the effects ofroad salt.Therefore, theseareas
must beregularly cleaned.Makesurethatthe
drain holes inthe lower edgeofthe door are
open. Spray waterunder thebody andinthe
wheel wellstoloosen thedirt and wash away
road salt.
Avoid leaving waterspotsonthe paint surface
by using adamp chamois todry the vehicle.

could discolor thewheels ifnot removed.
CAUTION

strong acidoralkali contents to
clean thewheels.
. Do not apply wheel cleaners tothe
wheels whentheyarehot. The
wheel temperature shouldbethe
same asambient temperature.
. Rinse thewheel tocompletely re-
move thecleaner within15minutes
after thecleaner isapplied.

TIRE DRESSING

NISSAN doesnotrecommend theuse oftire
dressings. Tiremanufacturers applyacoating to
the tires tohelp reduce discoloration ofthe
rubber. Ifa tire dressing isapplied tothe tires, it
may react withthecoating andform acom-
pound. Thiscompound maycome offthe tire
while driving andstain thevehicle paint.
If you choose touse atire dressing, takethe following
precautions:
. Use awater-based tiredressing. Thecoat-
ing onthe tiredissolves moreeasily withan
oil-based tiredressing.
. Apply alight coat oftire dressing tohelp
prevent itfrom entering thetire tread/
grooves (whereitwould bedifficult to
remove) .
. Wipe offexcess tiredressing usingadry
towel. Makesurethetire dressing is
completely removedfromthetiretread/
grooves.
. Allow thetiredressing todry asrecom-
mended bytire dressing manufacturer.
