petrol engine. Do not switch on the ignitio nif
you accidentally refue lwith the wrong fuel.
Otherwise, the fuel wille nter the fuel system.
Even smal lamounts of the wrong fuel can
result in damage to the fuel system and the
engine. Notify aqualified specialist workshop
and have the fuel tank and fuel lines drained
completely.
! Only refue

Do not mix such fuel swith the fuel recom-
mended for yourv ehicle.
Usually you willf ind information about the fuel
grad eont he pump .Ifyou cannot find the label
on the petrol pump ,ask the filling station staff.
C1 80, C250, C300: asatemporary measure,
if the recommende dfuel is not available,y ou
may alsou se regular unleadedp etrol with an
octane rating of 93 RON.
All other models: asatemporary measure, if
the recommende dfuel is not available,y ou may
alsou se regular unleadedp etrol with an octane
rating of 91 RON. This may reduce engine per-

driving at full throttle and sudden acceleration.
Never refuel using fuel with alower RON.

not be sufficiently low in sulphur. This fuel can temporarily produce unpleasant odours,
especially on short journeys. As soon as sul-
phur-free fuel (sulphur conten t<10ppm) is
used for refuelling, the odours are reduced.

at least 98 ROZ, that conform stoEuropean
standard EN 228 or an equivalent specifica-
tion.
You can otherwise impair engin eoutput or
damage the engine.
Fuel of this specification may contain up to
10% ethanol. Your vehicle is suitable for use
with E10 fuel. You may refuel your vehicle
using E10 fuel.
! As
atemporary measure, if the recommen-
ded fuel is not available, you may also use
unleaded petro lwith an octane ratin gof
95 RON. This may reduce engin eperform-
ance and increase fuel consumption .Asmuch
as possible, avoid driving at full throttle.

lower grade is available, you should have the
vehicle adapted to run on this fuel at aquali-
fied specialist workshop.

as damage to the engin eand exhaust system.
Additives ! Operatin
gthe engin ewith fuel additives
added later can lead to engin efailure. Do not
mix fuel additives with fuel. This does not
include additives for the removal and preven-
tion of residue build-up. Petro lmust only be
mixed with additives recommended by
Mercedes-Benz.O bserve the instructions for
use in the product description. More informa- tion about recommended additives can be
obtained from any Mercedes-Benz Service
Centre.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use fuel
brands that have additives.
The quality of the fuel available in some coun-
tries may not be sufficient. Residue could build
up in the fuel injection system as aresult. In this
case, in consultation with aMercedes-Benz Ser-
vice Centre, the petro lmay be mixed with the
cleanin gadditive recommended by Mercedes-
Benz. Always observe the notes and mixing
ratios specified on the container.
Diesel Fuel grade
