Selecting a radio station

iSIRIUS XM satellite radio functions like a
normal radio.

Operating an audio player or audio
media
:Current title
Audio data from various audio devices or
media can be played, depending on the equip- ment installed in the vehicle.
X Switch on Audio 20 or COMAND and select
audio CD or MP3 mode; see the separate
operating instructions.
X Press the =or; button on the steer-
ing wheel to select the
Audiomenu.
X To select the next/previous track:
briefly press the 9or: button.
X To select a track from the track list
(rapid scrolling): press and hold the 9
or : button until the desired track has
been reached.
If you press and hold 9or: , the
rapid scrolling speed is increased. Not all
audio drives or data carriers support this
function.
If track information is stored on the audio
device or medium, the multifunction display
will show the number and title of the track.

Video DVD operation
You can only operate DVD videos in theAudio
menu in vehicles with COMAND.
X Switch on COMAND and select video DVD
(see the separate operating instructions).
X Press the =or; button on the steer-

briefly press the 9or: button.
X To select a scene from the scene list
(rapid scrolling): press and hold the 9
or : button until desired scene :has
been reached.
Telephone menu
Introduction
GWARNING
If you operate information systems and com-
munication equipment integrated in the vehi- cle while driving, you will be distracted from
traffic conditions. You could also lose controlof the vehicle. There is a risk of an accident.
Only operate the equipment when the traffic
situation permits. If you are not sure that this
is possible, park the vehicle paying attention
to traffic conditions and operate the equip-
ment when the vehicle is stationary.
When telephoning, you must observe the
legal requirements for the country in which
you are currently driving.
X Switch on the mobile phone (see the man-
ufacturer’s operating instructions).
X Switch on Audio 20 or COMAND, see the
separate operating instructions. X
Establish a Bluetooth ®
connection to Audio
20 or COMAND, see the separate operating
instructions.
X Press the =or; button on the steer-
ing wheel to select the
Telmenu.
You will see one of the following display mes- sages in the multifunction display:
R
Phone READYor the name of the network
provider: the mobile phone has found a
network and is ready to receive.
R
Phone No Service: there is no network
available or the mobile phone is searching
for a network.
Accepting a call
X Press the 6button on the steering
wheel to accept an incoming call.
If someone calls you when you are in the
Tel
menu, a display message appears in the mul- tifunction display.
You can accept a call at any time, even if you
are not in the
Telmenu.
Rejecting or ending a call
X Press the ~button on the steering
wheel.
You can end or reject a call even if you are not
in the
Telmenu.
Dialing an entry from the phone book
X Press the =or; button on the steer-
ing wheel to select the
Telmenu.
X Press the 9,: ora button to
switch to the phone book.
X Authorize access to the phone book on the
phone.

Selecting the permanent display function
You can determine whether the multifunction display permanently shows the outside tem-
perature or your speed in km/ h(USA) or mph
(Canada).

above a speed of approximately 9 mph
(15 km/h).

Activating/deactivating the acoustic
locking verification signal
If you activate the
Acoustic Lock FeedZAcoustic Lock FeedZ
back:back:function (vehicles with a black and
white multifunction display) or the
AcousticAcoustic
LockLockfunction (vehicles with a color multi-
function display), an acoustic tone sounds
when you lock the vehicle.
X Press the =or; button on the steer-

Convenience
Switching the fold-in mirrors when lock-
ing feature on/off
This function is only available when the vehi-
cle is equipped with the electrical fold-in func-
tion.
If you switch on the
FoldMirrorsinwhen
Lockingfunction (vehicles with black and
white multifunction display) or the
Auto.
Mirror Foldingfunction (vehicles with
color multifunction display), the exterior mir-
rors fold in when you lock the vehicle. If you
unlock the vehicle and then open the driver's or front-passenger door, the exterior mirrors
fold out again.
If you have switched on the
Fold Mirrors
in when Locking(vehicles with black and
white multifunction display) or
Auto. MirZ
ror Folding(vehicles with color multifunc-
tion display) function and you fold in the exte-
rior mirrors using the button on the door( Y page 98), they will not fold out automati-
cally. The exterior mirrors can then only be
folded out using the button on the door.

For safety reasons, the
