Automatic illumination of
headlamps
The sidelamps and dipped beam headlamps are switched on automatically, without any
a
ction on the part of the driver, when a low level
of
external light is detected or in certain cases
o
f activation of the windscreen wipers.
As
soon as the brightness returns to an
a
dequate level or after the windscreen wipers
a
re switched off, these lamps are switched off
a
utomatically and the daytime running lamps
c
ome on.
Activation
F Turn ring A to the "AUTO" position. The a
ctivation of the function is confirmed by
t
he display of a message.
Deactivation
F Turn ring A to a position other than
"AUTO" .
The deactivation of the function is
c
onfirmed by the display of a message.
Operating fault
In the event of a fault with the
sunshine sensor, the lighting come
o
n, this warning lamp is displayed
o
n the instrument panel and/or a
m
essage appears in the screen,
a
ccompanied by an audible signal.

orkshop workshop.
In
fog or snow, the sunshine sensor
m
ay
detect sufficient light. Therefore,
t
he
lighting will not come on

tomatically.

System for selection and control of the various front and rear wiping modes for the elimination

The
vehicle's front and rear wipers are

esigned to improve the driver's visibility

ccording to the climatic conditions.
The
wipers are controlled by means of stalk A

the front and the ring B for the rear.

Various automatic wiper control modes are also available depending on whether the following

confirmed
by

cycle,

essage. The
instruction is confirmed by this warning

going off in the instrument panel and/or

he
display of a deactivation message.
The
windscreen
wipers
operate
automatically,

ithout any action on the part of the driver, if
rain
is
detected
(sensor
behind
the
rear
view
m
irror),
adapting
their
speed
to
the
intensity
of
t
he
rainfall.

Operating fault
If an automatic rain sensitive wiper malfunction occurs, the wipers will operate in intermittent
m
ode.

Windscreen and headlamp

Low screenwash / headlamp
wash fluid level
On vehicle fitted with headlamp washers, the low level of this fluid is indicated by gauge in
t
he reservoir filler neck under the bonnet.
Checking
and topping up this fluid can should

e done with the engine off.
The
level of this fluid should be checked
r
egularly,
par
ticularly

uring

inter.

checking
the level.

The
windscreen

headlamp
washers
only
operate
when
the
dipped or main beam headlamps are on, with

cover
the
rain
sensor,
linked
with

he sunshine sensor and located in the
centre of the windscreen behind the rear
view
mirror.
Switch
off
the
automatic
rain
sensitive
w
ipers
when
using
an
automatic
car
wash.
In winter, it is advisable to wait until the
windscreen
is
completely
clear
of
ice
b
efore
activating
the
automatic
rain
sen
sitive
w
ipers. To
reduce
the
consumption
of
the
fluid
b
y
the
headlamp
washers,
they
operate
o
nly with every seventh use of the
screenwash
or
every
25
miles
(40
km)
d
uring
a
given
journey.

Special position of the
windscreen wipers
This position permits release of the windscreen wiper blades.
It
is used for cleaning or replacement of the
b
lades. It can also be useful, in winter, to
d
etach the blades from the windscreen.

ny action on the wiper stalk in the minute
a
fter switching off the ignition places the
b
lades vertically on the screen.
F

o park the blades again, switch on the
i
gnition and operate the wiper stalk.To
maintain the effectiveness of the flat
w
iper blades, it is advisable to:

andle them with care,

lean them regularly using soapy
w
ater,
-
a
void using them to retain
c
ardboard on the windscreen,

eplace them at the first signs of
w
e a r.

Switching off the engine
Energy economy mode
After switching off the engine (position 1- Stop), f
or a maximum of 30 minutes you can still use

unctions such as the audio and telematic

ystem, the wipers, dipped beam headlamps,

ourtesy lamps, ...

that
the
parking
brake
is
correctly
a
pplied,
particularly
on
sloping
ground.
Never
switch
off
the
ignition
before
the
v
ehicle
is
at
a
complete
stop.
With
the
e
ngine
off,
the
braking
and
steering
a
ssistance
systems
are
also
cut
off:
risk
o
f
loss
of
control
of
the
vehicle.
To
facilitate
unlocking
of
the
steering
c
olumn,
it
is
recommended
that
the
w
heels
be
returned
to
the
straight
ahead
p
osition
before
switching
off
the
engine.
When
you
leave
the
vehicle,
keep
the
k
ey
with
you
and
lock
the
vehicle. For
more information, refer to the
"
Practical information" section, under
"

If the key has been left in the ignition switch at position 2 (Ignition on) ,

Engine compartment fuses
The fusebox is placed in the engine compartment near the battery (left-hand side).
Access to the fuses
