Correcting power window malfunctions
After disconnecting the vehicle battery , the
one-touch up and down feature must be acti­
vated again.
.,. Pull the power window switch until the win­
dow is comp lete ly raised .
.,. Re lease the switch and pull it again for at
least one second.
.,. Press and hold the electric window sw itch
until the window is fully open .
.,. Re lease the switch and then press it again
for at least one second. You shou ld now be
able to close the window in the usual way.
Panorama sunroof

The button has two stages. In the second
stage, the roof automat ically runs to the end
pos ition (open/closed) when the button is op­
erated br iefly. The movement can be stopped
by pressing the button .

the driver. The drive r is still responsib le for
controll ing the headlights and switc hing
the high beams on and
off manually de­
pending on t raff ic, lighting and visib ility
conditions. Fa ilu re to intervene manually

It may be nec ­
essary to operate the high beams manual ­
l y in the following situations, e.g.:
- For adverse weathe r condit ions such as
fog, heavy rain, blowing snow or spraying water.
- On roads where oncoming traff ic may be
partially obscured such as expressways .
- If there are individua ls on the road with
no lighting or poo r light ing, such as cy­
clists.
- In tight curves and on steep slopes.
- In poorly lit are as.
- W ith st rong refle cto rs such as signs.
- If t he area of the winds hield near the
sensor is fogged ov er, dirty, icy o r cov­
ered wi th a stic ker.

rists aware that you or your vehicle are in an
emergency situation .

cally if you are in an accident where the airbag
h as dep loyed.

s hi eld wipers is automatically red uced by
one speed .
Cleaning windshield wiper blades
Clean the windshield wiper blades whe n they
begin to leave streaks . Use a soft cloth and
g lass cleaner to clean the windsh ield wiper
b lades .

Opening rear cupholders

automatically secures the beverage.
Closing cupholders

especially if the airbag is deployed -
these objects could injure any passen­
gers inside the vehicle .
- To reduce the r isk of personal injury in an
acc ident or sudden stop, always keep the
glove compartment closed while driving.
- Read and follow all WARNINGS
Q page 129, Important safety instruc­
tions on the side airbag system.
- Hang clothes in such a way that they do
not impair the driver's v ision.
- The coat hooks must only be used for
lightwe ight cloth ing . Do not leave any
heavy o r sharp edged objects in the pock­
ets which may interfere with the side cur­
tain a irbag deployment and can cause
persona l injury in a crash .
- Do not use coat hangers for hanging
clothing on the coat hooks as this can in­
terfere with proper dep loyment of the
side curtain airbags in an accident .
- Do not hang heavy objects on the coat
hooks, as they cou ld cause persona l in­
jury in a sudden stop.
- Always keep the compartment above the
rearview mirror closed whi le driving to
reduce the risk of injury in the event of
sudden braking maneuvers or a collision.

Objects located on the rear shelf that rub
against the rear w indow cou ld damage the
heating wires for the rear window defog­
ger.

- A vent slot is located between the shelf
and the rear window. Do not b lock the
vent with any items you may place on the rear window shelf.
- Do not p lace bulky items on the rear w in­
dow shelf as they could restrict or b lock
the driver's vis ion in the rear view mirro r.

vided by the roof rack manufacturer when
installing the roof rack system .
If luggage or cargo is to be carried on the
roof, you must observe the following:
- On ly use roof racks approved for your vehi­
cle. These approved roof racks are the basis
for a complete roof rack system. Additional attachments or carr ier systems are needed
to transport luggage and sports equipment .
We recommend using roof racks from the
Audi original accessories program.
- When installing the roof rack, make sure it
is only mounted on the designated locations
on the roof

Steering
Manually adjustable steering wheel
The steering wheel position is fully adjustable
up and down and forward and bock .

First, adjust the driver's seat correctly .
• Pull the lever

• Move the steer ing whee l to the desired posi­
t ion.
• Push the lever against the steering column
until it locks.
There must be at least 10 inches (25 cm) be­ tween your chest and the center of the steer­
ing wheel. If you cannot sit more than 10 in­
ches (25 cm) from the steering whee l, see if
adaptive equipment is available to help you reach the pedals and increase the distance
from the steering wheel.

A WARNING
Improper use of steeri ng wheel adjust­
ment and improper seating position can
cause serious personal injury.
- Adjust the steering whee l co lumn on ly
when the veh icle is not moving to pre­
vent loss of veh icle control.
- Adjust the driver's seat or steering wheel
so that there is a minimum of 10 inches
(25 cm) between your chest and the
steering wheel

yo u cannot mainta in this min imum dis- tance, the airbag system cannot protect
you proper ly.
- If physical limitations prevent you from
sitting 10 inches (25 cm) or more from
the steering wheel, check with your au­
thorized Audi dealer to see if adaptive equ ipment is ava ilable .
- If the steer ing wheel is aligned with your
face, the supplementa l driver's a irbag
cannot provide as much protection in an
accident . Always make sure that the
steer ing wheel is aligned with your
chest.
- Always hold the steering wheel w ith your
hands at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock posi­
tions to reduce the risk of persona l injury
if the driver's airbag dep loys .
- Never hold the stee ring wheel at the 12
o'clock position or with your hands inside
the steeri ng wheel rim or on the steering
wheel hub . Holding the steering wheel
the wrong way can cause serious injuries
to the hands, arms and head if the driv­
er's airbag deploys.

If the engine fails to start immediately, switch
off the starter and try again after about
30 seconds . To start the engine again, turn
the ignition key to position @.
A WARNING
-Never allow the engine to run in confined
spaces -dange r of asphyxiation.
- Never remove the ign ition key from the
ignition look while the vehicle is moving.
Otherw ise, the stee ring lock could sud­
denly engage and you would not be able
to steer the vehicle.
- Always take the key with you whenever
you leave your vehicle . Otherwise, the
engine could be started or e lectr ica l
equipment such as the power w indows
cou ld be operated . This can lead to seri­
o us injury .
- Never leave c hildren or persons requi ring
assistance unattended in the vehicle. The
doo rs can be locked using the remote
transmitter, preventing peop le from es­
caping from the vehicle on their own in
the event of an emergency. Depend ing
on the time of year, people inside the ve­
hicle can be exposed to very h igh or ve ry
low temperatures .

Avoid high engine rpm, full throttle and
heavy eng ine loads until the eng ine has
reached operat ing temperature -other­
w ise you risk engine damage.

Do not let the engine run while parked to
warm up. Beg in driving immediately. This

-If it is difficult to turn the ignition key to
posit ion ©, move the steering wheel (to
take the load off the steer ing lock mech­
anism) until the key turns freely.
-After starting a cold engine, there may be a brief period of increased no ise be­
cause the oil pressure must f irst bu ild up
in the hydraulic valve adjusters. This is
normal and not a cause for concern.

necessa ry. Be ca use you canno t steer and
bra ke as you usually wo uld, this could
lead to crashes and ser ious injuries .

vertently roll away.
- T he radiator fan can continue to run for
up to 10 minutes even after you have
