You areresponsible forperformance of
the required maintenance indicatedinthe
Owner’s Manualandthisbooklet. Toyota
will notdeny awarranty claimsolely
because youdonot have records toshow
that youmaintained yourvehicle. However,
any failure ornoncompliance causedby
lack ofmaintenance isnot covered bythis
warranty.
When maintenance andrepairs arepaid
for byyou, these services maybe
performed byyou orby any automotive
service provider youchoose. Toyotawill
not deny awarranty claimsolely
because youused aservice provider
other thanaToyota dealership for
maintenance andrepairs. However, any
failure ornoncompliance causedby
improper maintenance orrepairs isnot
covered bythis warranty.
REPLACEMENT PARTS
Toensure optimum performance and
maintain thequality builtintoyour
vehicle’s emission controlsystems, Toyota
recommends theuse ofGenuine Toyota
Parts when servicing orrepairing the
systems.
Warranty coverage isnot dependent
upon theuse ofany particular brandof
replacement partsandyoumay elect to
use non-Genuine ToyotaPartsfor
maintenance andrepairs. However, use
of replacement partsthatarenot
equivalent inquality toGenuine Toyota
Parts mayimpair theeffectiveness ofthe
emission controlsystems.
If you usereplacement partsthathave
maintenance orreplacement schedules
different fromthose ofGenuine Toyota
Parts, youmust follow themaintenance
and replacement schedulesforthe parts
you areusing. Inaddition, youshould
ensure thatsuch parts arewarranted by
their manufacturers tobe equivalent to
Genuine ToyotaParts.

IF YOUR VEHICLE FAILS
AN EMISSIONS TEST
Ifyour vehicle failsanEPA-approved
emissions test,youmay make aclaim
under theEmission Performance Warranty.
To do so, take your vehicle toan
authorized Toyotadealership andpresent a
copy ofthe emissions testreport. Also,
take your maintenance recordsincase
they areneeded.
If your claim qualifies forcoverage, the
dealership willrepair yourvehicle within
30 days (unless ashorter periodis
required bylaw). Ifyour claim isdenied,
Toyota willnotify youinwriting ofthe
reason withinthesame period. Ifwe fail
to do so, wewill repair yourvehicle free
of charge. Theonly exceptions allowedare
when yourequest oragree toadelay, or
when adelay iscaused byfactors beyond
the control ofToyota orthe dealership.
