CONFIGURATION (BCM) : DescriptionINFOID:0000000009462023
Vehicle specification needs to be written with CONSUL
T because it is not written after replacing BCM.
Configuration has three functions as follows:
CAUTION:
• When replacing BCM, you must perform “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU" with CON-
SULT.
• Complete the procedure of “Select Saved Da ta List” or "After Replace ECU" in order.
• If you set incorrect “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU", incidents might occur.
• Configuration is different for each vehicle model. Confirm conf iguration of each vehicle model.
• Never perform “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU" except for new BCM.
CONFIGURATION (BCM) : Work ProcedureINFOID:0000000009462024
1.WRITING MODE SELECTION
CONSULT
Select “Reprogramming, Configuration” of BCM.
When writing saved data>>GO TO 2.
When writing manually>>GO TO 3.
2.PERFORM “SAVED DATA LIST”
CONSULT
Automatically “Operation Log Selection” window will disp lay if “Before Replace ECU” was performed. Select
applicable file from the “Save Data List” and press “Confirm”.
>> Work End.
3.PERFORM “AFTER REPLACE ECU” OR “MANUAL CONFIGURATION”
CONSULT
1. Select “After Replace ECU” or “Manual Configuration”.
2. Identify the correct model and configuration list. Refer to BCS-66, "CONFIGURATION (BCM) : Configura-
tion list".
3. Confirm and/or change setting value for each item. CAUTION:
Thoroughly read and understand the vehicle speci fication. ECU control may not operate normally
if the setting is not correct.
4. Select “Next”. CAUTION:
Make sure to select “Next”, confirm each setting value and press “OK” even if the indicated con-
figuration of brand new BCM is same as the desirabl e configuration. If not, configuration which is
set automatically by selecting veh icle model cannot be memorized.
5. When "Completed", select "End".
>> GO TO 4.
4.OPERATION CHECK
Confirm that each function cont rolled by BCM operates normally.
>> Work End.
Function Description
"Before Replace ECU" • Reads the vehicle configuration of current BCM.
• Saves the read vehicle configuration.
"After Replace ECU" Writes the vehicle configuration with manual selection.
"Select Saved Data List" Writes the vehicle configuration with saved data.

APPEARANCE
Check surface of disc rotor for uneven wear, cracks or damage. Replace if any abnormal conditions exist.
RUNOUT
1. Check the wheel bearing axial end play before the inspection. Refer to FAX-6, "Inspection".
2. Secure the disc rotor to the wheel hub and bearing assembly with wheel nuts at two wheel nut locations.
3. Inspect the runout with a dial gauge, measured at 10 mm (0.39 in) inside the disc edge.
4. Find the installation position with a minimum runout by shifting the disc rotor-to-wheel hub and bearing assembly installation
position by one hole at a time if the runout exceeds the limit
value.
5. Refinish the disc rotor if the runout is outside the limit even after performing the above operation. When refinishing, use Tool.
THICKNESS
Check the thickness of the disc rotor using a micrometer. Replace
the disc rotor if the thick ness is below the wear limit.

ADJUSTMENT
1. Loosen the stop lamp switch (2) and ASCD cancel switch (1) by turning each counterclockwise by 45 °.
2. Loosen clevis lock nut (1) on the input rod (2), then turn input rod to adjust the brake pedal height to specification. Tighten cle-
vis lock nut (1) to specification.
CAUTION:
• Check the height with the floor trim removed.
• The threaded end of the input rod (2) must project to the
inner side (L) of the clevis (3).
3. With the pedal pulled up and held by hand, press the stop lamp switch (1) and ASCD cancel switch (2) until the threaded end
contacts the brake pedal bracket.
4. With the threaded end of the stop lamp switch (1) and ASCD cancel switch (2) contacting the brake pedal bracket, rotate the
switch clockwise by 45 ° to secure.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the clearance (C) between brake pedal
bracket and end of stop lamp switch (1) and ASCD cancel
switch (2) is within the standard. Refer to BR-48, "Brake
Pedal".
5. Check the brake pedal for smooth operation. CAUTION:
Make sure that stop lamps are off when the brake pedal is released.

Brake BurnishingINFOID:0000000009463694
CAUTION:
• Burnish contact surfaces between brake pads and disc brake rotor according to the following proce-
dure after refinishing the disc brake rotor, replacing brake pads or if a soft pedal occurs at very low
mileage.
• Be careful of vehicle speed. Brakes do not operat e firmly/securely until pads and disc rotor are
securely seated.
• Only perform this procedure under safe road and traffic conditions. Use extreme caution.
1. Drive the vehicle on straight, flat road.
2. Depress the brake pedal until the vehicle stops.
3. Release the brake pedal for a few minutes to allow the brake components to cool.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 until pad and disc rotor are securely seated.
