REPLACEMENT OPERATIONS
3. Remove panel.
4. Compare to the removed panel, then drill 8mm (0.31in) holes in the same location on the new service roof
panel.
5. Use 3M weld through primer to prime the front and rear window flanges
INSTALLATION
1. Check the dimensions and fit.
2. Use clamping pliers to retain the roof panel to the front and rear window flanges.
3. Plug weld as necessary.
4. Use panel bonding adhesive in place of the laser welds along the roof side flanges.
5. Dress welds as necessary to allow proper glass fit.
6. Refer to NISSAN approved panel refinishing.
7. Install the headlining. Refer to INT-30, "Removal and Installation"
.
8. Install rear window glass. Refer to GW-25, "Removal and Installation"
.
9. Install windshield glass. Refer to GW-12, "Removal and Installation"

• All dimensions indicated in the figures are actual.
• When using a tracking gauge, adjust both pointers to equal length. Then check the pointers and gauge itself
to make sure there is no free play.
• When a measuring tape is used, check to be sure there is no elongation, twisting or bending.
• Measurements should be taken at the center of the mounting holes.
• An asterisk (*) following the value at the measuring point indicates that the measuring point on the other side
is symmetrically the same value.
• The coordinates of the measurement points are the distances measured from the standard line of ″X ″, ″Y ″
and ″Z ″.

1. Wipe off oil and remove water scale deposits, old gasket, old
sealer, and carbon with a scraper.
CAUTION:
Use care not to allow gasket debris to enter passages for oil
or water.
2. At each of several locations on bottom surface of cylinder head, measure distortion in six directi ons using suitable tools (A, B).
• If measurements exceed the limit, replace cylinder head.
VALVE DIMENSIONS
Check dimensions of each valve. Refer to EM-111, "Standard and Limit".
VALVE GUIDE CLEARANCE
• Measure diameter of valve stem using suitable tool (A) as shown.
• Measure inner diameter of valve guide with a bore gauge as shown.
• Valve guide clearance = (Valve guide inner diameter) - (Valve stem diameter)
• If it exceeds the limit, replace valve guide and/or va lve. When valve guide must be replaced, follow the
"VALVE GUIDE REPLACEMENT" procedure.
VALVE GUIDE REPLACEMENT
When valve guide is removed, replace with oversized (0.2 mm, 0.008 in) valve guide.
1. To remove valve guide, heat cylinder head to 110 ° to 130 °C
(230 ° to 266 °F) by soaking in heated oil.
WARNING:
Cylinder head contains heat. Wh en working, wear protective
equipment to avoid getting burned. Limit : 0.1 mm (0.004 in)

2. Drive out valve guide with a press [under 20 kN (2.2 ton-f) pres-
sure] or suitable tool.
3. Ream cylinder head valve guide hole using suitable reamer.
4. Heat cylinder head to 110 ° to 130 °C (230 ° to 266 °F) by soaking in heated oil.
WARNING:
Cylinder head contains heat. When working, wear protecti ve equipment to avoid getting burned.
5. Press valve guide from camshaft side to dimensions as shown.
6. Apply finish to valve guide using suitable reamer.
