Putting a call through to the rear
compartment and retrieving it
You can put a call through to the Rear Seat
Entertainment System. The call is output
through the rear loudspeakers and the rear
microphones are used.
X To switch to the menu bar: slide 00520064the

In the bottom menu bar, the Call to
Call to

COMAND entry is now visible.
Retrieving the call:
X Select Call to COMAND Call to COMAND. Calls with several participants
Rejecting or accepting a waiting call The mobile phone network provider must
support and activate the call-waiting function.
Depending on the mobile phone used, the
system behavior differs when accepting a
call.
If you have a call in progress and receive
another call, a new window appears in the
display. You also hear a tone. You can accept
or reject the call.
Rejecting:

Reject: turn the controller and

X Press the 0076button on COMAND or on
the multifunction steering wheel.
Accepting:
X Press the 0061button on COMAND or on
the multifunction steering wheel.
The system behavior after accepting the
incoming call depends on your mobile phone.
R The mobile phone supports the call waiting
function (via Bluetooth ®
) when: The previously active call is held. You can
then switch back and forth between both
calls (toggling) (Y

R The mobile phone does not support the call
waiting function (via Bluetooth ®
) when:
The previously active call is ended.
This is also the case if you accept the
waiting call using the Voice Control System
(see the separate operating instructions).
The COMAND display changes. If you
continue to operate functions on the mobile
phone, the COMAND display may differ from
that of the mobile phone.
Making a second call If the following requirements are met, you can
make another call while on the phone with
someone else. This action puts the previous
call on hold.

The function has to be supported by the
mobile phone network.
R The mobile phone has to support the
connection of a further call via Bluetooth ®
.
R The appropriate setting has to be activated

Toggling You can switch back and forth between calls
with this function. The function is available if
your mobile phone supports the toggling
function (via Bluetooth ®
).
You can use the function if you are answering
a second call or making a second call. Both
discussions are marked with 1 or 2. The active
call is highlighted.

Ending the active call:

Conference call You can interconnect calls (active and on
hold) on COMAND. This permits several
parties to hear one another and speak with
one another.

The new participant is included in the
conference call. Using the phone book
Introduction
The phone book displays the names and
phone numbers of all address book entries
saved in the COMAND address book. If an
address book entry does not have a
telephone number, it does not appear in the
phone book.
The mobile phone's telephone book is
automatically downloaded into COMAND on
connection (default setting). You can
deactivate automatic downloading
(Y page 153).
In the telephone book, you can:
R save phone numbers (Y page 137)
R search for entries (Y page 135)
R delete entries (Y page 136)
R import contacts (Y page 153)
R delete contacts (Y page 154)
R receive vCards ( Ypage 154)
i The stored phone book and the vCards
remain in COMAND even if you use
COMAND with another mobile phone. The
entries can be viewed without a mobile
phone. For this reason, you should delete
any phone book entries before handing

Introduction
When making calls using COMAND, incoming
and outgoing calls (including missed calls) are
stored in separate lists. Call lists are not
available unless a mobile phone is connected
to COMAND.
COMAND supports the PBAP Bluetooth ®
profile. The system behavior differs as
follows:
R Bluetooth ®
telephone with PBAP
Bluetooth ®
profile:
The call lists are downloaded automatically
from the mobile phone by COMAND as soon as the mobile phone is connected to
COMAND.
R Bluetooth ®
telephone without PBAP
Bluetooth ®
profile:
The call lists are created, displayed and
stored by COMAND.
i For Bluetooth ®
telephones without the
PBAP Bluetooth ®
profile, the call lists in
COMAND are not synchronized with those
on your mobile phone. These calls may or
may not be listed on your mobile phone,
depending on the model.
i If no mobile phone is connected, then the
Call Lists
Call Lists menu item is grayed out and
cannot be selected. If you connect a mobile
phone other than the previous one to
COMAND the previously available call lists
will be deleted automatically. The call lists
are still available on the mobile phone itself.
i If COMAND has not saved any call lists for
the phone connected: you cannot select
the respective menu items until calls have
been received or made.
Displaying missed calls in the COMAND
display is not supported by all mobile

are searching for, a prompt will appear
asking whether you wish to overwrite one
of the existing numbers.

If you select Yes Yes, a selection list with the
five existing numbers is displayed.
If you select No No, the process will be

COMAND overwrites the selected number

You cannot delete call lists from COMAND

Information and requirements
The following conditions must be met in order
to use the message functions (text messages
and e-mails):
R For text messages and e-mails:
The Bluetooth ®
mobile phone supports the
MAP Bluetooth ®
profile (Message Access
Profile).
R For e-mails:

The Bluetooth ®
mobile phone
(smartphone) supports the e-mail
function.
- An e-mail account is set up on the mobile
phone (see the mobile phone operating
instructions).
Once the messages have been downloaded
from the phone, COMAND shows the 100
newest text messages and the 100 newest e-
mails.
Any new messages received during the
journey are indicated by COMAND with an
audible signal and the 008Fsymbol. Once you
have read all the messages, the symbol is no
longer displayed. The úmail symbol is
displayed if the mobile phone's message
memory is full. The symbol disappears once
you delete at least one message.

confirm.
The Data Saved Data Saved message appears. The
phone book entry is now saved as an
address book entry.
The 0034symbol is replaced by the ¥
symbol.
R Contacts marked with the ¥symbol are
accessible to all COMAND users, regardless of the mobile phone
connected.
R Saving or editing the contact data on
COMAND does not change the contacts
on the mobile phone. If automatic
downloading of phone contacts is
activated, COMAND displays the copy
¥ with the changed data. To add
additional data, such as additional phone
numbers or e-mail addresses, select this
contact. In this way, you avoid creating
additional copies of the mobile phone
entry. Importing contacts
Information and requirements You can import contacts (vCards) from the
memory card and a USB device into the
address book, or receive vCards via
Bluetooth
®
.
i Up to 2000 entries can be imported into
the address book. A message notifies you
when the maximum number is reached.
You then have to delete existing entries in
order to import new entries (Y page 150).
Depending on the source of the contact data,
