The meters and displa y illuminate when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
The brightness of the instrument panel lights
When the tail lights are turned on, the me ter’s brightness will be reduced slightly
unless the meter brightness level adjustment is set to the brightest setting.
If the tail lights are turned on when the surroundings are dark, the meter’s bright-
ness will be reduced slightly. However, wh en the surroundings are bright, such as
during the daytime, the meter’s brightness will not be reduced even if the tail lights
are turned on.
NOTICE■
To prevent damage to the engine and its components ●
Do not let the indicator needle of the ta chometer enter the red zone, which indi-
cates the maximum engine speed. ●
The engine may be overheating if the engine coolant temperature gauge is in the
red zone (“H”). In this case, immediatel y stop the vehicle in a safe place, and
check the engine after it has cooled completely. ( P. 8 7 3 )■
Vo l t m e t e r
When the voltmeter indicates 19 V or higher or 9 V or lower while the engine is
running, there may be a battery or chargi ng system malfunction. Have the vehicle
inspected at your Lexus dealer. ■
Engine oil pressure gauge
When the value of the engine oil pressure gauge drops while the engine is running,
stop the vehicle in a safe place immediately and check the amount of engine oil.
( P. 74 9 )
When the oil pressure drops even though the engine oil amount has not decreased,
or if the oil pressure does not increase when engine oil is added, contact your Lexus
dealer, as there may be a problem with the lubrication system.

Cleaning the display
Wipe the display with a dry soft cloth.
If the screen is wiped with a rough cloth, the surface of the screen may be
scratched. ■
To prevent damage to the controller ●
Keep the remote control away from direct sunlight, high temperature and high
humidity. ●
Do not drop or knock the controller against hard objects. ●
Do not sit on or place heavy objects on the controller.■
DVD player
Never try to disassemble or oil any part of the DVD player. Do not insert anything
other than a disc into the slot. ■
For normal operation after replacing the battery
Observe the following precautions to prevent accidents. ●
Always work with dry hands.
Moisture may cause the battery to rust. ●
Do not touch or move any other components inside the controller. ●
Do not bend either of the battery terminals.

Maintenance and care
LX570_OM_OM60L21U_(U) CAUTIONThe engine compartment contains many mechanisms and fluids that may move sud-
denly, become hot, or become electrically energized. To avoid death or serious injury
observe the following precautions. ■
When working on the engine compartment ●
Keep hands, clothing and tools away from the moving fans and engine drive belt. ●
Be careful not to touch the engine, radiator , exhaust manifold, etc. right after driv-
ing as they may be hot. Oil and other fluids may also be hot. ●
Do not leave anything that may burn easi ly, such as paper or rags, in the engine
compartment. ●
Do not smoke, cause sparks or expose an open flame to fuel or the battery. Fuel
and battery fumes are flammable. ●
Be extremely cautious when working on the battery. It contains poisonous and
corrosive sulfuric acid.■
When working near the electric cooling fan or radiator grille
Be sure the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is OFF.
With the “ENGINE START STOP” switch in IGNITION ON mode, the electric
cooling fan may automatically start to run if the air conditioning is on and/or the
coolant temperature is high. ( P. 7 5 4 )■
When working on or under the vehicle ●
Do not get under the vehicle with just the jack supporting it.
Always use automotive jack stands or other solid supports. ●
Use eye protection to prevent flying or falling material, fluid spray, etc. from get-
ting in your eyes.
NOTICE■
If you remove the air cleaner filter
Driving with the air cleaner removed may cause excessive engine wear due to dirt
in the air.

Changing the engine oil
Make sure to reset oil change system ■
When the tire pressure warning light comes on
Check the tire inflation pressure and adjust to the appropriate level. Pushing the tire
pressure warning reset switch does not turn off the tire pressure warning light. ■
The tire pressure warning light may come on due to natural causes
The tire pressure warning light may come on due to natural causes such as natural
air leaks or tire inflation pressure changes caused by temperature. In this case,
adjusting the tire inflation pressure will turn off the warning light (after a few min-
utes).

* : The engine oil capacity is a reference quantity to be used when changing the
engine oil. Warm up and turn off the engine, wait more than 5 minutes, and
check the oil level on the dipstick.
■ Engine oil selection
“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” is used in your Lexus vehicle. Use Lexus
approved “Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” or equivalent to sa tisfy the follow-
ing grade and viscosity.
Oil grade: ILSAC GF-5 multigrade engine oil
Recommended viscosity: SAE 0W-20
SAE 0W-20 is the best choice for
good fuel economy and good
starting in cold weather.
If SAE 0W-20 is not available,
SAE 5W-20 oil may be used.
However, it must be replaced with
SAE 0W-20 at the next oil
change.Oil capacity

8846-1. Specifications
LX570_OM_OM60L21U_(U) Oil viscosity (0W-20 is explained here as an example):
• The 0W in 0W-20 indicates the char acteristic of the oil which allows
cold startability. Oils with a lower value befo re the W allow for easier
starting of the engine in cold weather.
• The 20 in 0W-20 indicates the visc osity characteristic of the oil when
the oil is at high temperature. An oil with a higher viscosity (one with a
higher value) may be better suited if the vehicle is operated at high
speeds, or under extreme load conditions.
How to read oil container label:
The International Lubricant Specification Advisory Committee (ILSAC)
Certification Mark is adde d to some oil containers to help you select the
oil you should use.

LX570_OM_OM60L21U_(U) Warning: The temperature grades for this tire are established for a tire that
is properly inflated and not overloaded.
Excessive speed, underinflation, or excess ive loading, either separately or in
combination, can cause heat buildup and possible tire failure.
