For your information
Please note that this manual applies to all models and explains all equipment, including
options. Therefore, you may find some explanations for equipment not installed on your
vehicle.
All specifications provided in this manual are current at the time of printing. However,
because of the Lexus policy of continual product improvement, we reserve the right to
make changes at any time without notice.
Depending on specifications, the vehicle shown in the illustrations may differ from your
vehicle in terms of color and equipment.
Both genuine Lexus and a wide variety of other spare parts and accessories for Lexus
vehicles are currently available on the market. Should it be determined that any of the
genuine Lexus parts or accessories supplied with the vehicle need to be replaced, Lexus
recommends that genuine Lexus parts or accessories, be used to replace them. Other
parts or accessories of matching quality can also be used.
Lexus cannot accept any liability or guarantee spare parts and accessories which are not
genuine Lexus products, nor for replacement or installation involving such parts. In addi-
tion, damage or performance problems resulting from the use of non-genuine Lexus
spare parts or accessories may not be covered under warranty.
The installation of an RF-transmitter system in your vehicle could affect electronic sys-
tems such as:
●Multiport fuel injection system/sequential multiport fuel injection system
●Dynamic radar cruise control system
●Cruise control system
●Anti-lock brake system
●SRS airbag system
●Seat belt pretensioner system
Be sure to check with any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional for precautionary measures or special instructions regarding
installation of an RF-transmitter system.
Further information regarding frequency bands, power levels, antenna positions and
installation provisions for the installation of RF-transmitters, is available on request at any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
High voltage parts and cables on the hybrid vehicles emit approximately the same
amount of electromagnetic waves as the conventional gasoline powered vehicles or
home electronic appliances despite of their electromagnetic shielding.
Unwanted noise may occur in the reception of the radio frequency transmitter (RF-trans-
mitter).

WA R N I N G
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with the ped-
als while driving. An unexpect edly high speed may result or it may become difficult to
stop the vehicle, leading to an accident, or leading to death or a serious injury.
■When installing the driver’s floor mat
●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year vehicles,
even if they are Lexus Genuine floor mats.
●Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat.
●Always install the floor mat securely using the retaining hooks (clips) provided.
●Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other.
●Do not place the floor mat bottom-side up or upside-down.
■Before driving
●Check that the floor mat is securely fixed in
the correct place with all the provided retain-
ing hooks (clips). Be especially careful to per-
form this check after cleaning the floor.
●With the hybrid system stopped and the shift
position in P, fully depress each pedal to the
floor to make sure it does not interfere with
the floor mat.

■If a warning light comes on, a warning message is displayed, or the 12-volt battery is dis-
connected
The hybrid system may not start. In this case, try to start the system again. If the “READY”
indicator does not come on, contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional.
■Running out of fuel
When the vehicle has run out of fuel and the hybrid system cannot be started, refuel the
vehicle with at least enough gasoline to make the low fuel level warning light (→P. 5 1 7 )
go off. If there is only a small amount of fu el, the hybrid system may not be able to start.
(The minimum amount of fuel to add to make the low fuel level warning light go out is
about 11.8 L [3.1 gal., 2.6 Imp.gal.], when the vehicle is on a level surface. This value may
vary when the vehicle is on a slope. Add extra fuel when the vehicle is inclined.)
■Electromagnetic waves
●High voltage parts and cables on hybrid vehicles incorporate electromagnetic shield-
ing, and therefore emit approximately the same amount of electromagnetic waves as
conventional gasoline powered vehicles or home electronic appliances.
●Your vehicle may cause sound interference in some third party-produced radio parts.
■Hybrid battery (traction battery)
The hybrid battery (traction battery) has a lim ited service life. The lifespan of the hybrid
battery (traction battery) can change in accordance with driving style and driving condi-
tions.
■Declaration of conformity
This model conforms to hydrogen emissions according to regulation ECE100 (Battery
electric vehicle safety).
WA R N I N G
■High voltage precautions
This vehicle has high voltage DC and AC systems as well as a 12-volt system. DC and
AC high voltage is very dangerous and can cause severe burns and electric shock that
may result in death or serious injury.
●Never touch, disassemble, remove or replace the high voltage parts, cables or their
connectors.
●The hybrid system will become hot after starting as the system uses high voltage. Be
careful of both the high voltage and the high temperature, and always obey the cau-
tion labels attached to the vehicle.
●Never try to open the service plug access
hole located in the luggage compartment.
The service plug is used only when the vehicle
is serviced and is subject to high voltage.

■If a safety system warning light does not come on
Should a safety system light such as the ABS and SRS warning light not come on when
you start the hybrid system, this could mean that these systems are not available to help
protect you in an accident, which could result in death or serious injury. Have the vehi-
cle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional immediately if this occurs.

●Hybrid System Indicator is displayed when the driving mode is in other than the sport
mode.
●By keeping the indicator needle within Ec o area, more Eco-friendly driving can be
achieved.
●Charge area indicates regeneration* status. Regenerated energy will be used to
charge the hybrid battery (traction battery).
*: When used in this manual, “regeneration” refers to the conversion of energy created
by the movement of the vehicle into electrical energy.
■Tachometer (if equipped)
The tachometer is displayed when the driving mode is in the sport mode.
■ECO lamp and SPORT lamp (if equipped)
●When sport mode is selected, the SPORT lamp (red) will illuminate.
●When all of the following conditions are satisfied and the Eco-friendly driving, the ECO
lamp (blue) will illuminate:
• Driving with the shift position in D
• Either normal mode or Eco drive mode is selected, and EV drive mode is not in use
( → P. 1 8 1 , 2 3 7 )
• The vehicle speed is approximately 130 km/h (80 mph) or below.
■Engine speed
On hybrid vehicles, engine speed is precis ely controlled in order to help improve fuel
efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions etc.
There are times when the engine speed that is displayed may differ even when vehicle
operation and driving co nditions are the same.
■Outside temperature display
●In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed, or the
display may take longer than normal to change.
• When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 20 km/h [12 mph])
• When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a
garage, tunnel, etc.)
●When “--” or “E” is displayed, the system may be malfunctioning.
Take your vehicle to any authorized Lexus de aler or repairer, or another duly qualified

NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the engine and its components
●Vehicles with tachometer: Do not let the indicator needle of the tachometer enter the
red zone, which indicates the maximum engine speed.
●The engine may be overheating if the high coolant temperature warning light comes
on or flashes. In this case, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place, and check the
engine after it has cooled completely. ( →P. 5 7 1 )
