■Road accident cautions
Observe the following precautions to reduce the risk of death or serious injury:
●Stop the vehicle in a safe place to prevent subsequent accidents. While depressing
the brake pedal, apply the parking brake and shift the shift position to P to stop the
hybrid system. Then, slowly release the brake pedal.
●Do not touch the high voltage parts, cables and connectors.
●If electric wires are exposed inside or outside your vehicle, an electric shock may
occur. Never touch exposed electric wires.
●If a fluid leak occurs, do not touch the fluid as it may be strong alkaline electrolyte
from the hybrid battery (traction battery). If it comes into contact with your skin or
eyes, wash it off immediately with a large amount of water or, if possible, boric acid
solution. Seek immediate medical attention.
●If a fire occurs in the hybrid vehicle, leave the vehicle as soon as possible. Never use a
fire extinguisher that is not meant for electric fires. Using even a small amount of
water may be dangerous.
●If your vehicle needs to be towed, do so with front wheels raised. If the wheels con-
nected to the electric motor (traction motor) are on the ground when towing, the
motor may continue to generate electricity. This may cause an electricity leakage
leading to a fire. (
→P. 5 1 0 )
●Carefully inspect the ground under the vehicl e. If you find that liquid has leaked onto
the ground, the fuel system may have been damaged. Leave the vehicle as soon as
possible.
■Hybrid battery (traction battery)
●Never resell, hand over or modify the hybrid battery. To prevent accidents, hybrid
batteries that have been removed from a disposed vehicle are collected through
Lexus dealer. Do not dispose of the battery yourself.
Unless the battery is properly collected, th e following may occur, resulting in death
or serious injury:
• The hybrid battery may be illegally dispos ed of or dumped, and it is hazardous to
the environment or someone may touch a high voltage part, resulting in an electric
shock.
• The hybrid battery is intended to be used exclusively with your hybrid vehicle. If the hybrid battery is used outside of your vehicle or modified in any way, accidents
such as electric shock, heat generation, smoke generation, an explosion and elec-
trolyte leakage may occur.
When reselling or handing over your vehi cle, the possibility of an accident is
extremely high because the person receiving the vehicle may not be aware of these
dangers.
●If your vehicle is disposed of without the hybrid battery having been removed, there is
a danger of serious electric shock if high voltage parts, cables and their connectors
are touched. In the event that your vehicle must be disposed of, the hybrid battery
must be disposed of by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qual-
ified and equipped professional or a qualified service shop. If the hybrid battery is not
disposed of properly, it may cause electric shock that can result in death or serious
injury.

3
Operation of each component
CT200h_OM_OM76135E_(EE)
■Mirror angle can be adjusted when
The power switch is in ACCESSORY or ON mode.
■Rain clearing mirrors (type B only)
The coating on the mirror has the rain clearing (hydrophilic) effect to make the rear view
clearer in raining. When water droplets collects on the mirror surface, this effect causes
the droplets to be spread out into a film.
●The rain clearing effect will be reduced temp orarily, when the dirt is adhered to the mir-
ror or after your vehicle is parked for a long time in underground or indoor parking lots,
etc., where there is no direct sunlight. Howe ver, the effect will gradually recover after 1-
or 2-day exposure to direct sunlight.
●If you want to restore the rain clearing effect immediately, conduct the restoration work
( → P. 443).
■When the mirrors are fogged up
The outside rear view mirrors can be cleared using the mirror defoggers. Turn on the
rear window defogger to turn on the outside rear view mirror defoggers.
(→ P. 4 1 2 , 4 1 9 )
■Automatic adjustment of the mirror angle (vehicles with driving position memory)
A desired mirror face angle can be entered to memory and recalled automatically by the
driving position memory. ( →P. 1 4 7 )
■Auto anti-glare function (type B only)
When the anti-glare inside rear view mirror is set to automatic mode, the outside rear
view mirrors will activate in conjunction with the anti-glare inside rear view mirror to
reduce reflected light. ( →P. 1 5 5 )
■Using automatic mode in cold weather (type B only)
When automatic mode is used in cold weather, the door mirror could freeze up and
automatic stowing and return may not be possible. In this event, remove any ice and snow
from the door mirror, then either operate the mirror using manual mode or move the mir-
ror by hand.
■Customization
The automatic mirror folding and extending operation can be changed.
(Customizable features: →P. 5 8 9 )

Trailer towing
Lexus does not recommend towing a trailer with your vehicle. Lexus also does
not recommend the installation of a tow hitch or the use of a tow hitch carrier
for a wheelchair, scooter, bicycle, etc. Your vehicle is not designed for trailer
towing or for the use of tow hitch mounted carriers.

■Cruise control can be set when
●The shift position is in D.
●Vehicle speed is above approximately 40 km/h (25 mph).
■Accelerating after setting the vehicle speed
●The vehicle can be accelerated normally. After acceleration, the set speed resumes.
●Even without canceling the cruise control, the set speed can be increased by first accel-
erating the vehicle to the desired speed and then pushing the lever down to set the new
speed.
■Automatic cruise control cancelation
Cruise control will stop maintaining the vehicle speed in any of the following situations.
●Actual vehicle speed falls more than approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) below the preset
vehicle speed.
At this time, the memorized set speed is not retained.
●Actual vehicle speed is below approximately 40km/h (25 mph).
●VSC is activated.
■If the warning message for the cruise control is shown on the multi-information display
Press the “ON-OFF” button once to deactivate the system, and then press the button
again to reactivate the system.
If the cruise control speed cannot be set or if the cruise control cancels immediately after
being activated, there may be a malfunction in the cruise control system. Have the vehi-
cle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
WA R N I N G
■To avoid operating the cruise control by mistake
Switch the cruise control off using the “ON-OFF” button when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for cruise control
Do not use cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in loss of control and could cause an accident resulting in death or
serious injury.
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On winding roads
●On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep hills
Vehicle speed may exceed the set sp eed when driving down a steep hill.
●During emergency towing
